We came back to the angelo apartments...

"We came back to the angelo apartments after staying there in may. It is a lovely hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff. Excellent location (only a 10 minute walk from the centre of it all). Greek night at the hotel was amazing, very lively and all staff are so enthusiastic! Brilliant place to stay if you want a relaxing holiday. Would definately stay again!"

This was our second time staying at...

"This was our second time staying at the Angelo, and it was just as good as before in terms of cleanliness, facilities and staff (Hercules is a nice guy, and looks like Borat). However, when we stayed here in 2005 the hotel was purely British tourists, but now that whole end of Hanioti (including the Angelo and the Blue Skies hotel next door) has been taken over by Serbia. There are Serbians everywhere, the beach is crowded with them, but luckily not the restaurants and bars because they all seem to stay in at night much to the Greeks annoyance.

Hanioti itself has increased in popularity since we were here last, the bars and restaurants are all generally excellent, I would recommend la Romantica, Erodios, Hanioti's Hall and Dionysus for places to eat and Nick's bar (Nick and Taffy are a great double act), Afros and Hotel Naias for a good night out. Kostas takeaway near the square is excellent value for lunchtime snacks and gyros.

Don't go in Zytheon unless you want to pay E7.50 for a Metaxa. The beach bar is generally very busy at daytime but beautiful at night, Billy's bar was a great night most nights but NOT when the annoying karaoke duo (Kelly and Mark) were on, they cheapened the place like something out of Benidorm or Phoenix Nights. Good live music at the Mini Golf bar but drink prices are sky high.

If we went to Hanioti again we would probably not stay at the Angelo, since we discovered Hotal Naias at the other end of the resort which was much nicer and right on the beach, with fewer Serbs. Hotel Naias also had an EXCELLENT Greek night which is open to non residents, I would seriously recommend.

The Angelo studios in Hanioti Greece...

"The Angelo studios in Hanioti Greece is ideal for couples and families.

On arrival we were welcomed by Nicos and showed to our clean and well furnished studio overlooking the pool.

The complex is clean and there's something to do for everyone,You can lounge by the pool which as a bar while watching satellite tv, there's volleyball, badminton, basketball, table tennis to keep you occupied and the sandy beach is only a couple of minutes away.

The complex also serves a full English breakfast is required.

I would recommend to anyone a great holiday destination safe and clean, and plenty of bars and restaurants in the main square which again is only a couple of minutes walk away.

If you want a relaxing holiday,or a holiday with plenty to do then stay at the angelo studios good location and for the money EXCELLENT.

Although we didn’t get great...

"Although we didn’t get great weather it didn’t deter from a great holiday.

Hanioti is a lovely village and is ideal if you want a laid back holiday. Although Hanioti is not as busy as some other holiday destinations there is still a good range of bars and eateries as well a good selection of shops.

Myself and my girlfriend stayed at the Angelos apartments, we were generally pleased with the accommodation BUT we did have a few things that we thought weren't ideal.

The pool is very much shaded from the sun because of the bar building and as such is usually VERY cold, also the bar prices are VERY expensive, much more expensive than the bars in Hanioti village.

Also DO NOT get cocktails from the bar there as most of the staff do not know how to make them properly and put them through a blended which results in loads of froth and very little drink.

The staff though are mostly friendly and the rooms are clean but basic. If you are visiting Hanioti try out the sunshine bar and kelfos bar, good cocktails can be had at both, Kelfos is a particularly lively bar.

Also, my favourite bar is Niks bar, not far from hotel Angelo. It is only a small bar but is very lively (or it was when we got in there anyway!), this place has loads of character and the owner is very friendly.

All in all I would recommend Hanioti to anyone thinking of going there.

We had a lovely holiday at the...

"We had a lovely holiday at the Angelo. It is in a very quiet area yet a short stroll to the bustling square and beachfront. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were sad to have left.

Only problem for us was that our air con didn’t work all week and we had to constantly badger them to get the engineer out. Turns out it was the engineer giving the hotel the run around so it wasn’t their fault.

The hotel did all they could and gave us a large fan in the meantime.

The bar could get quite loud some night but we never heard it from our room at the back of the hotel. I think the music stopped at 1am at the latest.

It was only a last minute break for us and we would definitely go back again - and pay more.

Best restaurant is at the end of the road - we loved it there. Can’t remember the name but something beginning with 'O' - Greek for Heron!

Returned from Hanioti on 24th August...

"Returned from Hanioti on 24th August 2006 having stayed at the Angelo.

Unfortunately we were troubled by the forest fires, however in no way does it detract from a fabulous holiday.

The apartments are basic but equipped with all you could possibly need for a holiday stay. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are very friendly. Nothing is too much trouble and those in the front line; Hecules, Ronnie etc are probably the friendliest resort staff we have ever met.

We travelled as 2 families with parents aged 40ish (thinking they are 21!!), 2 boys aged 12 and 2 girls aged 16 (going on 21!!). The resort itself has plenty going on and the bars and restaurants were first class. We did not have an indifferent meal once and the bars in the square were great for a relaxing drink. I could name them all but to be honest there is not a bad one amongst them. The only thing missing is a bar/club that enters the early hours however there is always the beach bar which opens 24/7.

As a family we like Greece, we like the weather, the food, the attitude and the people. Without doubt Hanioti highlights the best of all the things we like.

I must finish by offering an apology to the hotel staff for our swift departure (hotel evacuated the day after the fires) as we did not have time to thank the staff for our stay. So to All at the Angelo: Hercules, Ronnie, Akis, Vangelis and the rest of his staff, a big big thank you! We will be back!

We had no end of trouble with Kosmar...

"We had no end of trouble with Kosmar before we went, first our flight was cancelled, and we had to go from Gatwick, then a week before we were due to travel we had a phone call telling us that the maisonette style apartment we booked 18 months ago had been withdrawn, and that we would now have to have 2 rooms instead! What a good start!

Anyway as for the Angelo, these apartments are quite basic (but as you expect for Greece) they are very clean and well kept, the air con is a must during August and will set you back 49 euros a week, the staff here are very friendly and will bend over backwards to help you. They are in a good location, about 5 mins to the resort centre, where you'll find plenty of bars, tavernas and shops, some of the nice places we found to eat at were: Stones, Zorbas and the hot goblin for breakfast, try out the sunshine cocktail bar, and their fishbowl cocktails. Fab! The youngsters will enjoy the Waikiki bar, long island, and also the bar down on the beach front.

The beach is worth a visit just 4 the water sports, and paragliding is another must at 35 euros pp, there's lots on offer. The kids will enjoy the mini golf and go karting 2. Plenty to suit everyone. An enjoyable stay, would recommend.

"The rooms were lovely and clean and a good size. The brochure said to be weary of road noise but this was very minimal and you could not view the road from the rooms.

The pool was a bit small and shaded, however the gardens, where there were more loungers, were very relaxing.

The hotel is in a good location.

The resort itself was good fun, lots of bars and good restaurants. Although I would not want to stay for longer than a week as there is not that much to do in Halkidiki.

Pefakhori was a 30 minute walk away and well worth it, a good change of scenery and a lovely lot of beach bars where the loungers were right next to the sea.

Hanioti beach has a lovely clear sea, just a shame about the shingle beach.

"The Hotel was functional with a reasonable sized room for two, optional air conditioning was not required although it was very warm some evenings.

Beach was very close about a 3 min walk to the nearest stretch of sandy shingle. Although not a tropical white sand beach the perfectly transparent sea made up for this fact.

Hanioti town is reasonably lively although reserved enough for young families as there were a lot of young children there.

Plenty of good eating and late drinking to be had, more restaurants than days available to try them

The 24 hour beach bar is a must for late drinkers although outside peak season it is very quiet.

All in all a very relaxing holiday in a beautiful place, just what we needed.

"Apartments were very nice, clean and white. The staff were very friendly couldn’t do enough for you, even got us a birthday cake made up for a friend who was holidaying with us.

The resort was nice, shops were in the main square, which was about a 5 min walk. Lots of clothes and shoe shops and souvenir shops. Food was nice at the apartments could have done with a bit more on the menu but overall good food.

At the main square there were lots of restaurant/bars, found the food was nice in everyone we tried.

Beach was about a 5min walk from apartments, clean and shingle near to the water. Lots of water sports nearby.
