Mistral Hotel Reviews
" right on the strip, nice staff "
Submitted By: ashleym2439At first after we got dropped off at the nmcdonalds we were pointed up the street but couldnt find it as it was down a side street facing the nightclub babylon. So after help from a lovely boy at one of the quad bike hire shops we found it. So its to signposted.
there is only a field beside it but your right on the strip practically as in 12steps away.
The rooms were quite small and basic but as we are only in our 20s and there to party we didnt mind. The shower is really really small , no curtain and its like a stand in one in the bathroom,. right next to the toiletpan. You dont get clean sheets, infact i got biten loads over there and so did most people I met so I asked for clean sheets 3 days before we were leaving as they hadnt been changed. you didnt get any toilet roll and the first few days we got clean towels but after 4 we never got any which wasnt good.
the cleaner also left us a note as our towels were dirty the second day but were girls , we wear make up so ofcourse they will be dirty.
Our room faced onto another hotel which i think was a 18-30, lots of people were up partyign as there security guard didnt seem around so bare this in mind if you are booking here as only a few rooms face over the entrance.
the staff were nice, quite quiet but still friendly, bar food is nice and pool is small but so is most apartments in malia.
Mali was a great place and i would recommend it to any young people, anyone a bit older i would recommend satying in hersonnissos as malia is fuill of young people and full of bikes and quads racing all day.
LOVED CLUB UK when we were over, they even gave us free drink when we were there which was always nice.
Only thing to bare in mind is malia has a strick law about bringin people back to apartments- never seen any goings on when we were at mistral but there is a skinny tall security guard at night. We met boys from our apartment who said they got beat up of albanians for trying to go back to a hotel so if in doubt go to the beach lol
Advice: malia was fab- defo for the young party animals, old dears beware!!
Activities: favourite restaurant was red lion, fav club club uk or candy club
Good for: Beach

This hotel is utter rubbish.

Submitted By: Miss Chloe DoddThe room apartment was small and basic but was manageable. The hotel staff were very helpful as when we first arrived there was some sort of lizard in our room and it was dealt with straight away. The security guards were a little bit of a pain but just ignore them!
I would definitely recommend the Mistral apartments as I thought they were very clean (well until we got there of course!). I met some amazing people who were also staying in the Mistral and just chilling by the pool in the day listening to the music having a laugh was some of the best times!
Would definitely go back tomorrow!

Submitted By: C Sneddon/mcgarrThe staff was great Tony was always there to help and George was great too.
We found the location of the apartments great as it was only a 2min walk from the strip so there was no chance of getting lost.
The only thing we did have a problem with was that we only got our bed sheets changed once during our 2week stay we did request to one of the members of staff that we would like new sheets but this never happened.
We loved Malia and the apartments that much that we have already booked for next year.
" Accommodation was in a great location... "
Submitted By: Mr D O RourkeThe pool area was a bit small but the music around the pool and atmosphere it didn’t matter.
Staff were very friendly and helpful especially the barman tony and the security guard George. Many nights was drunk talking to them.
Overall a great holiday and would recommend it to people looking for a fun holiday.
" The studios are in perfect location... "
Submitted By: Miss S BowdenThe studios are very small and basic, if you’re anyway over the normal size person you may have problems getting into the bathroom. When in it there’s just about room to turn round. The shower is practically over the toilet, there is no curtain so there’s water everywhere!!
During the holiday we received two clean towels and had the sheets changed once, the room was not cleaned at all. I was not impressed with the hygiene level. They would not be the most pleasant staff can actually be quite rude. Although Tony is very friendly and speaks excellent English. I agree with the comment made about passports, there on view for anyone to take. The pool is not that big but did the job.
Malia in general has a nice clean beach, good food, we ate in allot of places but the favourite has to be the Red Lion.
Always check your change, they can be quick to hold back on a few cents/euros. As if it isn't expensive enough.

Submitted By: Miss K ChilcottThe location is great right on the strip bar open late so you can get paro an dmeet people before you go out and also when you come in!!!!
Pool is quite small but it’s nice to just chill out by the pool food all day and nice cocktails.
Beach not too far away and loads of restaurants close by would recommend brassiere, good food there!!
The maid comes in and does your room if you’re up or not so beware!!

Submitted By: Mr L YatesPassports are left unguarded on desk. Safety deposit boxes are not in rooms but in reception unguarded.
Bed sheets are not changed all week. Swimming pool very small.
Avoid the bike hire places that quote you low prices of about 30 euros as once you sign the contract they will force you to pay 200 euros.

Submitted By: Miss E RossThe accommodation had everything you could need and the staff were really friendly, especially a man we named tony the tiger, who worked night shift and put up with us all mortal drunk all hours of the morning!
The mistral studios are situated just off the strip so it’s ideal, only a short walk to the bars and restaurants and five minutes to the beach.
I would definitely recommend the accommodation to anyone looking for a wild holiday!
" Loved our stay at the Mistral... "
Submitted By: Miss Lisa GibsonVery handy as it is based on the main strip of Malia, beach is only a five minute walk away and the apartments are situated next to shops, clubs, pubs etc.
Rooms are very basic but clean.
Pool bar is open late, great for when the pubs/clubs are closed and it also gives you the chance to meet everyone who is also staying in the apartments!
Staff are very helpful and friendly, especially Tony who I had the pleasure of knowing for the 7 weeks I stayed in Malia!

Submitted By: Miss S SmithBar staff a little flirty but good for the ego. Everything to hand. Fridge, shower in room. Little balcony (2nd one along in photo).
Really good fun! I recommend that you put a towel down bout 9am then go back for a sleep. The best sun beds are bout 3from the corner sun stays on them from 9am to about 6pm (September).
Shower water can get cold later on. Take a 4bar plug for hairdryer, ghd's, CD player etc
Some of the electric key tags for room electric are in funny place and fall out when door opened not ours though. Like others weren’t impressed when I got there but I loved it by the following day.
No overnight guests is very big, not that we did that but they do kick up a stink as our friends were in Stalis, we wanted them to stay but you have to pay 20euros.
I would definitely stay again, in fact I’m planning on sending my friends and going myself again this year September again, best time.
One problem at night 4/5year olds are sent out to sell glow sticks and flowers don’t buy them, these kids should be at home in bed. They can get very rude and vulgar. Tell them to go home!
Hotel Mistral best in Malia book it!

Stayed in Mistral Hotel for a week (September 2009)
Rooms are VERY basic, Bathroom is horrendous toilet seat felt like it was going to break and the shower was very small, the floor got wet everytime, the towels they provided are like hand towels ... i had to use my beach towel to dry myself (and the cleaners don't change the towels or bedding.)
You have to pay for air con and there's no safety deposite!
Only good thing about the room is the fridge as it's a reasonably size.
The sunbeds are very close to the pool and one night we saw a RAT "playing" on the grounds!!!!!!!!!!!! So we went to the beach every day.
Hotel staff DON'T speak english and not very helpful- as we where leaving we had to get our own passports from behind the reception desk (which could of been anyone!)
It is very close to the strip and if your home early on night time you can still hear the music from around 6am !
Good for: Beach
