Royale House Studios & Apartments

Apartment/studio block is situated right off the main road which runs from Heraklion to Malia, so a little noisy. The post office is directly below and opens at 6.30am so again a little noisy on a morning.
We had a studio for 3 people, which was extremely spacious, with the traditional Greek bathroom, as well as a nice balcony. However some rooms are overlooked by another apartment block occupied by Dutch and German tourists, who can practically see into your room if the curtains are open.
The pool bar was nice, with plenty of sunbeds and friendly owners. However the floor areas were a little dirty.
Hersonissos itself was more expensive than other Greek islands we've visited (Corfu, Zante and Kos) and the food in restaurants along the harbour wasn't up to the usual Greek standards.
If you stay in Hersonissos, then you definitely need to go up to the little villages behind the main town (Koutoulafari, Old Herssonisos, etc). Food is much better (and cheaper) and the views down to the main town and harbour are gorgeous.
Overall nice apartments and would stay there again, though in a different resort!
