We really enjoyed our 2 weeks at the Santa Rosa. The whole place was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
We initially went as self catering but after a week or so of using the local eateries we upgraded to half board for a cost of only 10 Euros each, the breakfasts were ok not quite the same as home, (different sausages and bacon) but the evening meals were very good with a nice variety with an endless supply.
Pool area clean and a nice place to be although the water was cold (isn't it always), the weather at that time of the year was brilliant.
Local town centre a 10 - 15 min walk. and the nearest beach was 10 min walk away but the better beaches were nearer to the centre.
The bars and restaurants adj the resort were fine and saved the 2 - 3 euro taxi fare into the town centre.
Buses to all parts of the Island were available almost on the doorstep and a ride to Puerto Del Carmen was e2.70 taking 35-40 mins.

The accommodation at the Santa Rosa...

The accommodation at the Santa Rosa was above and beyond what we expected for the price that we paid.
We had a very spacious 2 bedroom bungalow. Everything you could need and English TV channels which helped with a 6 year old when it became too hot.
The grounds were sparkling and all the staff were very polite and could never do enough to help. The hotel even offered to let us retail our accommodation for a further 4 hours at no extra cost.
I would surely recommend the Santa Rosa and look forward to returning.

I booked these apartments through...

Oct 2007, Ms C Barnaby

I booked these apartments through www.travelrepublic.co.uk only 3 days before my holiday (11th-18th October) and was delighted with the accommodation, particularly for the cheap price I had paid. I must say I was very impressed with the Santa Rosa complex and would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.
They are situated a 15 minute walk to central Costa Teguise, however you can walk on the main road, a cut through a residential area or along the sea front. I had a one bedroom apartment which I found to be clean, although basic. I would recommend you take more coat hangers with you and also a kettle as one is not provided. Although you can hire, kettles, toasters and fans at reception area. There is not fans or air conditioning, so I would imagine it would be extremely hot in the high season. There was a television that had 4 english channels, a fridge, microwave, hob and all kitchen utensils.
I was on a self catering basis so cannot comment on food, although people I spoke to said it was very basic and there was no ambience in the dining room. There are many restaurants and places to eat/drink a couple of minutes away, so I would recommend you do that instead.
The pool was large and not too deep, which is great, if like me, you cannot swim out of your depth. There is also a small pool for children.
The entertainment was a disappointment. They did advertise bingo, dancing, karaoke, although the numbers were few and far between. I spent my evenings at the 4* hotel opposite (Corona Playas). This was excellent and again would recommend this for those of you whom prefer hotels.
The weather was very hot whilst there 27-28 degrees. There is a slight wind, but you definitely don't need to pack jumpers or anything like that. I had booked this last minute and not expected much at all. I was very pleasantly surprised both with Costa Teguise and the Santa Rosa Apartments.

Aug 2007, Mrs A Mosley

Highly recommended - we were self catering with older children (15 and 12) and were delighted with our accommodation in this peaceful haven. 2-bedroom apartment was poolside (worth requesting) and we could sit on our own patio and 'supervise' the kids swimming. There was a small play area to and we loved the fact that most of the other guests were Spanish, not British!
Plenty of supermarkets and cafes within very close walking distance (some a little too 'British') and many more in main resort. Beach was close as the crow flies but we found you had to walk 10 minutes to access it. A little further round the coast (another 15 minutes walk north along promenade) were better beaches and all the facilities of the main resort though.
Cannot comment on Santa Rosa's evening meals or entertainment as we did not use these facilities - tried their breakfast once and it was a very good buffet for 5.50 Euros each.
Pool was larger than expected and quite warm enough (but we did go in August!). Apartment was well-furnished and very comfortable and we had no complaints at all.
Would recommend for families or couples who appreciate a peaceful, relaxing environment to return to or are happy to spend days quietly by the pool.
We would happily return and would feel comfortable booking direct as staff were very polite and efficient.

Our group was staying here, what a lovely, well kept, and clean site.
The apartments were spotless and cleaned every day except wed and sun, nice clean bedding and towels when we needed them.
Brilliant views overlooking the pools, and the people were fab, just wish we could stay there forever.
Trying to get back there next year hopefully. So recommended.

Spent a week at the Santa Rosa...

Apr 2007, Ms A Ovens

Spent a week at the Santa Rosa apartments in 12-19 April 2007.
The bungalow was exceptionally clean. Towels changed every 2nd day and sheets twice a week. Maid service x 5 weekly.
We went half board and apart from not knowing what we were eating sometimes, the food tasted good and was hot.
The only comment that is not favourable was the swimming pool was freezing, only for the hardy and children who did not care. However the pool area like the rest of the grounds were spotless.
Santa Rosa is situated on the outskirts of Costa Teguise a 15-20min walk to the main area.
There are 3 Netto supermarkets within 10 minutes of the apartments selling everything you need for self catering. Those who are watching their weight stay away from the Netto that bakes their own bread (scrumptious).
I would go back as this is a wee gem of a find.

Apr 2007, pegleg

The bathroom had a toilet and sink, but lacked shelving and hooks to hang things on. There was no hairdryer.
Bedroom had a safe (payable), twin beds (very comfortable) wardrobe with shelving, a small table and dressing table. No draws or bedside cabinet.
There was a small patio with a table and chairs.
We took the half board option because it was very cheap, the breakfast was good, but the evening meals poor, we ate out quite often.
There is a lovely pool (unheated) and a smaller children's pool, plus a pool bar.
They also have mini golf, free for residents.
The staff are very good and helpful, and any problem we had was sorted out very quickly.
There are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops just outside the complex. Try Luis Tapas bar, Navaros and Oscars, 2 of the best restaurants in town.
Santa Rosa is in the Playa Bastion area of Costa Teguise and a good 10 minutes walk to the centre. Taxis are cheap and the hotel will order one for you.
The buses stop close by. The Coronas Playa hotel across the road has entertainment and Happy Hour form 5pm-6pm!

Santa Rosa is a hidden treasure. 15...

Feb 2007, Miss R Udell

Santa Rosa is a hidden treasure. 15 minute stroll to the centre of Costa Teguise which has plenty of good quality restaurants, bars and entertainment. It is also a 15 minute walk to the beach, which is clean.
For the money the accommodation is excellent, offering either ground, 1st floor or 2nd floor apartments and also ground floor bungalows for families. We stayed in a 2nd floor apartment over looking the pool with balcony.
All facilities are spotlessly clean as is the large pool and maid service was every 2 days. There is a children’s playground that was clean and safe.

The poolside bar serves snacks and drinks and was generally well manned at all times.
There is a restaurant on the complex however we didn’t use it as Costa Teguise has enough to offer.
Just outside the apartment complex was a supermarket, bars and a couple of restaurants for those who don’t want to walk into town.
Directly opposite is the Monkey Bar which is part of the Corona Playa complex. It's a great bar with ice cold San Miguel free flowing. Great location for watching the World Cup!
Opposite is the fantastic Danish restaurant called Oscars. Again, another hidden find!
A car is definitely a must if you wish to visit the fantastic sights of Lanzarote! Cesar Manriques house, Jamos de Agua, Caves de Verde, Cactus de Jardin, Timofaya National Park all a must see. Just avoid the Parrot Park!!!
We will definitely return as we cannot fault the accommodation, people, resort or the island itself! Fantastic.

Nov 2006, Mrs E Eastell

Just got back from here on the 2nd Nov, first I must say the weather was terrible 6 days out of the 7 it rained, but that’s no reflection on this place, it was of a very high standard and very clean, was a little gem to have been booked in here. We had a self catering bungalow no: 1029 and the other couple who traveled with us were in 1028, directly looking onto the pool (if only we had the weather).
The Santa Rosa is a fair size, the apartments had everything you need except a kettle and toaster, i think you had to hire them, but you did have a pan, so we just boiled the pan for hot water for our tea. ha ha. Inside was 2 single beds, safe, nice bathroom with bath/shower and a living stroke kitchen area, and a terrace with a couple chairs and table. Pool was gorgeous on the one day it was sunny we did go in the pool, bit cold though. It is situated about a 10/15 minute walk to Costa Teguise centre, but right outside to the right was a couple of bars and shops, Netto and 3 bars we tried, Steptoe’s, rock garden and a cocktail bar next to Netto.
You can walk to the centre as mentioned above but it was a 1.90 euro fare to get there or back before 10pm and after 2.50 euros, so at this price you could be lazy as we were often. Down there is loads shops, restaurants and bars. The best on the sea front is the Sandcastle, great English couple. there’s 5 in a row also great bay view, Cutty sark, The dolphin. We ate in one of the 6 Chinese restaurants and the Only Indian, both excellent. The food is varied and as expensive as you want it to be, the Indian cost 40 euro for a meal for 2 and a drinks, and so would Lani's but the Bay view as a 3 and 5 euro menu.
There is a square were some equally good restaurants and bars are situated, El patio, great restaurant and the cheapest bar of all, Chispas! Cocktails are 3 or 3.50 euros, cheapest bar in Costa Teguise. Another great bar is The Bulldog, best karaoke bar! Sing 3 times and get a free breakfast the next day. If you fancy some fun you have to go to Lively Ladies, drag show, very funny and entertaining. Before I bore you last thing to say the famous Costa Teguise market is not that great, only sells rows upon rows of the same stuff i.e.: cloth, bags, shows, tacky jewelry.
If you do fancy it just get the bus yourself though, only cost 2.40 euro there and 2.40 back but the cheapest the trip is sold commercially is 8 euro. Shame about our weather though, but hey I hope this helps.

Very nice pool area and very friendly staff who could not do more for you. Very clean and lovely apartments with excellent cleaning service. Small but adequate snack bar at pool side.
Pleasant area of Costa Teguise with a very large selection of restaurants within a 2 minute walk.
We would come back to the Santa Rosa apartments.

May 2006, Miss C Birse

This is a beautiful resort. The apartments are huge-I stayed for 1 week in a big one (4 people) and 1 week in a small one (2 people) both were very spacious. Big kitchen and dining area, big lounge with TV, big bedrooms and (in the big apartment) 2 bathrooms. It was lovely and quiet and relaxing and had facilities-restaurants, supermarkets, bars very nearby.
A walk in to the main bit of Costa Teguise was 15 minutes away with loads of shops, eateries, bars, clubs and a gorgeous beach with windsurfers as far as the eye could see! The beach closer to the apartments was a 5 minute walk, with lovely soft sand and beautiful sights. If you follow the beach around there is a lagoon and rocky area with diving and fishing. A taxi or bus can take you to the sights of Lanzarote for next to nothing. The fire mountains and Cesar Manrique's house were particular favourites.
This was a great holiday for simply relaxing, forgetting about work, getting a tan, having fun and enjoying a beautiful island and resort.
I went at the beginning of July so the school holidays had not started.
