The Alvormar is located just off the town centre of Alvor, its not a bad place, there isnt a Bar in the Hotel as such, just a room with bottled beers and spirits for sale, the rooms are nice although the views arent great from some of the rooms, the pool is very small, ok... more

Just got back from 9 days in Alvor. Two teenge boys in tow. We had the one bedroom appt on 3rd floor. Very well equipped if you want to self cater. The pool area was very small and a bit murky no good for teenagers, so went to beach every day. Lovely beach . Small... more

just returned form our 3rd stay at the alvormar and not disappointed again. They are in great central location the staff are friendly and helpful. the apartments are cleaned six days a week and you also get fresh towels everytime they are cleaned too. There is a small pool... more

Excellent apartment hotel located in the centre of Alvor from evergreengrass
We stayed at this hotel on the basis of Trip Advisor ratings and an excellent deal from Travel Republic. We were not disappointed. The rooms are spacious and kept immaculately clean by a dedicated housekeeping team. The hotel is of an interesting design around a tree filled central courtyard and all rooms have balconies. There is a small swimming pool and crazy golf is available on the roof terrace. A sitting room for guests is available as are internet access WiFi.. The reception staff were warm and friendly and always very helpful. The location in the centre of town was ideal for a January booking with access to plenty of good restaurants. We can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.
Short trip in the sun from Redphil
We have just come back from Alvor staying at the Alvormar for 4 nights and are totally relaxed. The accomodation is large and clean, but needed updating. The kitchen was fine, but with the large selction of resturants nearby we never used it. You are located by a road that sometimes can be a bit noisy, but near all the amenities that's required for an holiday break. Bars, resturants, supermarkets , taxi ranks and bus stop are all a stone throw away and the beach a 10-15 min stroll. There are no noisy discos in this area although some of the pubs can be lively.The swimming pool was quiet and plenty of spaces there, but we preferred to swim at the beach, although conditions were unsuitable at times. The birds sometimes can be a little bit noisey in evening/early morning, but it did not disturbed us. All in all we recommend these apartments being were they were, for the price you pay to see this part of the Algarve

Second year of staying at the Alvormar and can not fault anything yet again. Great location for everything, room cleaned every day(except Sunday), never heard a sound in the mornings as i slept (i wake up at the slightest sound) as we came in most in the early hours so didnt really get up early. will be booking again for next year

booked these apts,after reading the reviews.and i have to say they lived up to all the good reviews.we were a party of six ladies,age range 23 to 47,lovely big apts got all you need for self catering great staff.we had a fab holiday, nice resort.word of advise,take taxi to aldi and lidl(next door to each other)for your basic shop much cheaper.local supermarket very expensive cost 5 euros going and 7euros back,for 4 adults. pool on small side but still good never a rush for sunbeds and you had sun all day.pool for kids,and play area slides,ect no music by pool but took ipod mp3 and speaker played our soul and motown in the afternoon,nobody seemed to mind lovely beachbooked these apts,
Really good location from soulwax
Just back from a weeks holiday with my mum at the Alvormar Apartments. These apartments are very clean, safe and efficiently run. Location wise, literally a stones throw from everything without being noisy. We only heard the birds roosting in the evenings but they were not loud enough to cause us any disturbance. I thought they were actually quite plesant. Before you wander out, ask for a handy street map from Reception. I will definitely return to the Alvormar Apartments. My only fear is that they will be booked out, due to all the recommendations on here!

This is a jewel in alvor.The location is superb,the staff exceptional and the standard of cleanliness above average.Just a 10 minute stroll from the fantastic beeach and the harbour and in the very center of the village.The mini market is 50 yards and the taxi and bus stop just a 100 yards. The standard is hotel quality with the freedom of appartment life.There are no negatives with this accomadation. The pool is small but never busy at times I thought it was my private pool.

The Alvormar is situated just far enough from the bars and restaurants (a five minute stroll-semi pedestianised) so that when you come back to your room there's none of that disco music blaring til the early hours. In fact, I don't think Alvor has a disco. The reataurants are suberb. I thouroughly recommend the Riccula, the most expensive at 60 euros for two but has lamb shank to die for. (Must book) The chicken piri-piri up by the market is only 14 euros for two so it all pans out. You don't need to hire a car because everything you could possibly need is within easy walking distance. And yes the dawn chorus at the hotels atrium is noisy but after a bottle of Portugals finest rose and a glass or two of port as a nightcap, you'll sleep right through it.

A great set of apartments for our needs. Each apt was clean with bedroom, bathroom (bath and shower), kitchen area, dining area, settee and satellite television. The downstairs rooms had a patio leading out to the garden while upstairs rooms have balconies, some overlooking the small but adequate pool area. Reception was always attended by a happy friendly face. There's a lift and plenty of parking outside. Only problem was the atrium filling with birds who made a ridiculous noise first thing in the morning. There's a mini market directly across the road and a super market less than 5 minutes walk. Would definitely use again.
Did the job from Melonski
My husband and I stayed at the Alvor Mar appartments for 4 nights last week. We stumbled across it by chance and it suited our needs perfectly. Not too expensive but clean and very well situated. It was near enough the centre of Alvor so that you could walk in for an evening meal in 5 minutes but far enough away that you don't hear any noise...not that there's that much in Alvor anyway. The beach was a 750m walk away across wasteland but we had a hire car so gave in to the temptation to take that each day. The beach is beautiful, 3km long with some nice but expensive places for lunch if you fancy it, we took a picnic each day but the toilet facilities were free to use and were clean. Alvor is a lovely little town with some absolutely fantastic restaurants, I'd recommend Vagabond (their roof terrace is lovely - we actually had to book to get a table there) or any of the fish restaurants near the marina.
Smaller complex centrally located from onestepbehind
The Alvomar Apartments are situated on a slight hill in the town centre. You do hear some noise but no enough to really disturb you. The Apartments themselves are a good size but other facilities very limited. Only a small pool and surrounding area. It is much more personal than some of the large hotels on the outskirts of Alvor. The town itself has some cobbled streets, good restaurants and if you like fish try one by the harbourside. One word of caution Fish is charged by weight and you do not know the cost until the bill is presented. We got stung one evening by what we thought was an excessive cost. Alvor has plenty to do without being completely commercialised.
