I returned yesterday (22/08/09) from Sidari and was eager to get online to praise the Anemona Apartments. They were absolutely fantastic!
5 of us stayed at the Anemona for 7 nights in the middle of the peak season. Like other reviewers had said; for the amount we paid for the holiday, we were a little bit concerned about the quality of the apartments especially after a bad experience we had last year on a trip to Zante. We had actually paid LESS for the Anemona and were pleasantly suprised. The hotel was kept clean and really well looked after. The rooms we stayed in (2 rooms between 5 of us) were perfect. We needed nothing else. The self-catering facilities were basic but more than enough for the amount of 'self-catering' we were planning on. I think we only used the kettle and fridge!
The pool area was great, with plenty of sunbeds and parasols and a few lilos, balls and inflatables to play around with. The bar and restaurant area was also a really nice place to chill. The staff were so friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble.
They did the most amazing breakfast too! €2.90 for 2 eggs, 2 bacon, sausage, beans, tomatos and toast.... you just couldn't beat it!
The Anemona was situated at the end of a lane away from the hustle and bustle of passing traffic and pedestrians but we were literally a 2-3 minute walk from the beack which had fantastic views out onto the bay. You could hire sunbeds and parasols (they came as a set) for just €7 for the day for 2 people. This was well worth it.
A further 2 minute walk took you to the start of the main 'strip' (as we called it) in Sidari where all the restaurants, clubs, bars, cafe's and shops were. There was so much choice!!
You should make sure you go to Pleasures, a café/bar, for a piece of their amazing fresh cakes! We made a point of going there most evenings instead of having a dessert. Another great restaurant was Astoria. Most places have the same sort of menu, but the best food we found was in Astoria. I would avoid Dorothea's Corner. The old guy outside is quite friendly trying to get you in there to eat but we ate there once and the main courses were awful and the music was sooo annoying! They played the same 5 songs in a loop... it sounded like Greek lift music.
The only bad thing I can say about Sidari is that you are over an hours coach journey from the airport. I guess this would differ depending on who your tour operator is and who else they've got to drop off but this journey does give you a good opportunity to see some of the island and the awesome views from the top of the mountains.
All in all, I would recommend Sidari and especially the Anemona Apartments to anyone wanting an affordable, relaxing and enjoyable holiday!

The Anemona Apts provided my friend and I an excellent base for our holiday. The rooms are basic but still has all the amenities needed. The rooms are serviced every other day and the staff are very friendly. The pool and pool bar are amazing! The main bars and restaurants are only a short walk away but absolutely no noise can be heard from theses - which means a good night's sleep. The beach is just at the end of the lane. Compared to other places in sidari, this has everything you need and your not out in the sticks like a lot of other palces are in sidari!!! Well worth it

Anemona is the most perfect setting for your holiday in Sidari. The rooms are kept spotless throughout your stay, as are all the other amenities. The girls behind the bar, Elana during the day and Katrina in the evening, are both very helpful and speak excellent English.
It is only about 150yds. from the beach and a further 50yds. to the Main Street. However, on the side of the beach, immediately at the end of the, at night well lit, lane from the Anemona is Napoleons, a cafe and restaurant, which is well priced and run by two lads who also speak good English, (they even helped my wife and I with our luggage onto the coach on the day we left!!).
We fully recommend this hotel to anyone, and we are already planning to return in early September!!

Brilliant apartments really clean. The staff were really friendly and couldnt do enough for us.The 2 Katerinas were very helpful and made us feel right at home.The location of the apartments was great a short walk takes you to the beach, we had a great view from our apartment of the beach. sidari can be quite lively at night but the atmosphere is good and the apartments are very quiet at night. Would go back without hesitation

Just got back from the Anemona Studio/Apartments they were fantastic!
We had a apartment with two bedrooms very clean and spacious. The staff were friendly (the two Katerinas). The apartments were situated in the quieter area of Sidari which suited us as we found the strip quite commercial and a bit livley .We preferred the more traditional tavernas, having said that we did eat at Sea Breeze twice in the strip area as the food was great.
We would definatley recommend the Anemona we had a fab time wish we were back there.

Our holiday was a bit of a surprise as we expected basic. Our first impressions when we reached the apartments from a short walk from the drop off point was that the building was very clean and new. The pool was immaculately clean with ample of sun loungers. There was 38 rooms, ours being on the top floor (3rd), was very clean and fresh, bed linen and towells were available almost every other day. The bar staff were very friendly and always ready to help. Everything in the resort was to hand and the locals were all very friendly, loads of restaurants and tavernas to suit every pocket and greek entertainment was plentiful. Because the apartment complex was on a small scale we got to meet lots of great people staying in the same apartments. There was alot of mosquitoes due to the time of year and lots of people had bites, Im usually on mozzies main menu but a word of advice "repel 100" insect repellant from UK camping shops is a must, I never had one bite, temperatures were 42 and 28 at night but bearable as there was a breeze some days. The only negative thing we have to say is that Kosmar reps were awful. pointless and miserable. Apart from the reps every thing was brill, we will definately returns. I hate to moan here, as we really did have a fabulous holiday. Apartment we stayed in was big and very clean. New towels every second day. Only bad things were :
Bathroom door was broken, the second bedroom door frame was not secure, and the main bedroom door was a real pain to open and close.
In the snack bar, I noticed that there was no soap or paper to dry your hands for the whole fortnight.
My boyfriend had to go to the doctor because he had caught an ear infection from the pool on our first day.
Then after this, the chlorine in the pool was so strong, that everything was green.
However, Lady behind the bar very friendly and food good at reasonable prices.
Kosmar are absolutely rubbish. Sat on coach waiting at airport for 40 mins with no apology from another runt rep. Got to Anemona, we had requested ground floor when we first booked and were given top floor, again no apology, just made the excuse that he never had the information. Reported the broken door in bathroom and was never fixed, only when we were about to leave. We went down for the apparent meeting at the pool bar at 1.30 on day of our arrival, well, there was no meeting.
Wouldn't go with Kosmar again, they need to get themselves organised.

The hotel was absoloutley amazing !

i enjoyed my holiday last year so much in august i begged my dad to take us again
and we are going again.:D

On arriving we had a short walk up a dirt track to our apartments which was okay as we had wheels on our suitcases. The apartments were very modern and about 6 years old so was immaculate, we had a 2 bedroomed apartment which was spacious with a large balcony and double glazed patio doors. The apartment was spotless with fresh towels every other day. The swimming pool was lovely and big and private with a bar that served food if you wanted it, we ate there alot and was satisfied with the food on offer. The beach was two minutes away back down the dirt track with a few restaurants near to the apartments. It is ideally located because you are away from the main street so are able to sleep at night with no disturbance. We have been to Sidari 3 times now and was very pleased with the apartments and location of these. Sidari is ideal at night time as there are many restaurants to eat from and with not to far walking distance about 5 minutes to the main street. There are go carts and bumper cars for the children to go on at 3 euros a time which will keep them occupied. We also went to Sidari Waterpark which was a 10 minute walk from us which was adequate for our children with 3 slides, small park, small slide and large swimming pool. The people are friendly and will make you feel welcomed. Will go back to Sidari again.

Lovely clean apartment with nice view over new swimming pool down to sea. About a 10 minute walk into the town / beach.
The holiday company was great, very helpful, but not pushy. Car hire was well worth it to explore the island.
The only thing missing was air conditioning. We went in the July heat wave when it was 40degrees at 9pm at night and could really have done with more than an electric fan, however we had a fantastic time and would recommend it to friends.
