Ambassador Hotel

The Ambassador we found one of the few hotels that felt more like a home than hotel. Staff are welcoming. The overall feel is relaxed and elegant. Beautiful, gracious old building, but without any sense of pretension. The room was generously proportioned, well supplied, quiet and very comfortable. The staff are warm and welcoming. I was attending a night class in Cork back in April and had an early hospital appointment the following morning so decided to book in somewhere - spotted a fantastic room only rate for the Ambassador and absolutely delighted we went with it. The receptionist was really nice and bubbly, and this is something I think improves a hotel experience overall - even if you're not in the nicest hotel in the world good staff can make all the difference. HATED DIS HOTEL we are in our 30 s and not fuzz pot s ... took 10 min s at least 2 find room which was on 2 nd floor but extremly confusing...room was tiny while on the bed if i was sitting on chair at dressing table had 2 move 4 some one 2 pass the bathroom was about 4 by 4 and if u went 2 the residence u would feel like an alcoholic no ppl there and had 2 go looking 4 d barman requisted queen r king bed told no problem ..never got... also no bath r hose so if u wanted 2 just rinse ur hair had 2 have a shower i could go on 4 ever... more

We visited Cork on the weekend and stayed in this hotel. Hotel is not far from the city center but it is on the hill. It is really hard to reach the hotel. Our room was very big. But it was very old fashioned room. The televison had only 3 channels. In the room there was no towel slippers. This is a Spa hotel !!! l called the reception they told me they don't have towel slippers. The towels in the room were the ones that you would never use in your house. The view was nice.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night while visiting Midleton and Blarney. The Ambassador hotel is a nice choice to stay at while in Cork. Cork itself doesn't have much to offer, but a great central location to Midleton (20 minutes) and Blarney (30 minutes) The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from any attractions or restaurants. It is on a steep hill and tiring at night, but very well lit streets. The hotel amenities are average, but neat older hotel to stay in. ADVICE: Rent a GPS system with your rental car.... more
