To Be Avoided
Terrible experience. We found blood stains in the sheets. Reception blamed on us when we complained and suggested an extra charge for changing sheets.
Better sleep in the street.

We had been looking forward to Prague...
5 / 10
Mar 2007, Miss J Birkett

We had been looking forward to Prague for such a long time, and the city itself really didn't disappoint.
Once we arrived at the airport we bought a three day travel pass, which granted us unlimited travel on the buses, trams and metro for three days and cost just about £5 each. We caught the bus to the metro terminus and on into the city we went. You will need to get a pass due to the hotels locations being slightly off the beaten track but it is very well served by public transport.
The Prague Centre Hotel was 5 min walk from the Metro Station IP Pavlova. It is located in an area that I would describe as not a luxurious as some of the other parts of Prague, but not real complaints.
Be careful of the prices in Prague, bars near the hotel were cheap! This is not the case in the more tourist based areas.
The hotel was lovely and clean, and the room was a good size with a clean shower room and a TV. The breakfast was OK and consisted of cheese and hotdogs and breads etc...
We were enjoying our stay in the hotel and had high opinions of everything and I am sure this would have continued to be a very excellent holiday and could finish my review here. Sadly, we did not have a good end to the holiday. I unfortunately took ill and required urgent medical attention. So my partner and I went down to reception at 3am to book a taxi to take me to the nearest place where I could get this. The receptionist was of no help here, he booked us a taxi to the hospital which was closed and cost us £10. To our absolute disgust we realised the hospital was had been taken to was literally a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
Tired, ill and fed up I returned to bed. Sadly my condition took a turn for the worse and by 10am the next morning I required an ambulance to get me the treatment I clearly needed. Unfortunately this was over complicated by the staff at the hotel not being particularly helpful yet again.
Thankfully I got my ambulance and the treatment needed and after an overnight stay in the hospital I was ready to fly home as scheduled. Too ill to use the travel pass I had so wisely bought on arrival I found it necessary to go back to the airport by taxi.
Clearly we had not learnt from our mistakes, and went to the reception to ask them to book it for us. The cheapest price they gave us was 800 Czech Crowns. We knew from our travel books and research this was an unacceptable price, so we again were forced to take by foot to the taxi rank at IP Pavlova, where we easily agreed a price of 500 Czech Crown, still over the odds but we had no other option.
Despite all of the above I will go back to finish my visit to Prague one day, and I do recommend it to all, but just don't get ill!!

Nov 2006, Mrs E M Amos

We had a lovely three days in Prague, my husband son and his wife loved it. Plenty to see went on a good tour to Prague Castle, loved the changing of the guard.
Walked over Charles Bridge. Plenty of places to eat. Lots of shops if you have a big wallet. Three days wasn’t long enough to see every thing probably go back next year to see some more sights.
Forgot to mention we stayed at the Prague Centre Hotel, lovely breakfast and very clean.

Booked direct and saved ££££'s with easy jet hotels and flights from Newcastle.
Hotel basic, clean and well maintained. Stay was trouble free. Receptionist booked us a tour with best tour for £10 each and it was well worth it. (Staff friendly and helpful and reception is open 24 hrs) walk to tram and metro is only 5 mins. "Leagenda" and "sports bar" English / American bars offering good grub with good atmosphere only 2 mins walk. (50p a pint and £1.50 for steak and chips - good for footie). Breakfast at the hotel is European with hot dogs and cheeses etc, however has a good choice of meats and cereals as well as unlimited coffee. Wenceslas square and the national museum 10 mins walk. Although tram and metro 5 mins away can take you to all other top Prague sites for only 50p each, valid for 90 mins. Highly recommended hotel if looking for excellent value for money with a good location.
Currency only 38 czk to the pound at the moment so not brilliant. You have got to see the old town, golden lane in the castle and walk over the Charles Bridge. Tour takes you to all of these sites, then you can wander off and do them yourself afterwards fully genned up. Thanks to the hotel's location, ensures you get to see it all walking back to it. Thank you to all the staff.

I stayed here for 4 days. It is only about a 15 / 20 minute walk from the old town square and about a five minute walk from the I Pavlos tram stop, you need a 22, 23 or a 6 to get back.
The room was very good with a King sized bed, mini bar, TV, shower etc. It was clean and well furnished. The staff, especially the reception staff were very helpful. On the downside I think that it lacks a lounge area and a separate bar.
It has it's own Limo service which is a little on the expensive side, to or from the Airport was CZK 850, about £21 but that was for 1 to 3 people, but I had to pay that for one person. I booked the hotel myself and found the rates very good.

The staff were all really nice and helpful from the start. Hotels with in walking distance from most 'touristy' places, bars and restaurants.
I would definitely stay there again had a really nice view out of the bedroom window as well. Food and drink an Prague is really cheap. Beautiful city.
