Comments:  I have just returned from the conrad with my husband and two children aged 7 & 4. This is the best holiday we have ever had, and we are well traveled. I would recommend this hotel 100%, it is a must. The rooms all have air-con, and are cleaned every day, you will return to your room to find towel art on your bed, for example swans, and flower petals. Beach towels are provided, so theres no need to take your own (after all they do take alot of room and weight in your case), the towels are always fresh and clean. As for the food, it is buffet style, and I had something different every day. (some of the reveiws on here say that its always the same, i didnt`t find this the case). Pasta, pizza, omelettes etc are cooked fresh infont of you by one of the conrads very friendly members of staff. Me and my husband went diving in the red sea with the Aquarius dive school which is located dirrectly on the beach infront of the Conrad. This was a once in a lifetime experience for me as the fish are so brightly coloured and the corel is out of this world. There are camel and horse riding on the beach. The sea is cystal clear, you don`t even need to enter the sea to experience to marine life, as you can see them off the floating platform that takes you out to the snorkeling area. Every day and night there id a entertainment programe from the animation team, including a childrens disco, team games, football & beach volleyball, yoga by the pool, belly dancing, mr and miss conrad, Egyptian night and a evening pool party for everyone including childen. (my children loved this experience as there was a fire show).
To make this holiday even more special we met the actor/singer Richard Fleeshman who was also staying at the Conrad. If you are not sure who he is, he was the goth in Corronation Street who was going out with Rosie Webster. He even agread to has his photo taken with my children. Lastly I would like to thank all the staff at the conrad especially, Ronnie, katie and Holly from the Animation team. BEST HOLIDAY EVER!!! xxxxx 10/10 xxxxx

Comments:  THIS HOTEL IS CLEAN, AND ROOMS ARE CLEANED EVERY DAY,THE SERVICE IS GOOD AND THE GYM IS NEW (EVERY THING IN IT IS SAFE AND UP TO DATE.) THE FOOD IS REPETETIVE, THE SAME FOOD EVERY DAY BUT DONE IN A DIFFERANT WAY OR WITH SAUCE COVERING IT WATER IS UNLIMITED IN THE RESTAURANT YOU CAN HAVE AS MANY AS YOU CAN CARRY. IF YOU ARE THINKING OF GOING TO THIS HOTEL ASK TO BE PUT IN THE NEW BLOCK, THE ROOMS ARE MUCH BIGGER WITH 2 SHOWERS. THE POOLS AND BEACH ARE GREAT, TOWELS ARE READELY AVAILABLE WITH THE TOWEL MEN RUNNING TO GET YOU A BED SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO LOOK YOURSELF. A TIP NOW AND AGAIN GOES A LONG WAY, THERE ARE ONLY TO HAPPY TO HELP YOU FOR THE REST OF YOUR STAY. THE COCKTAILS ARE NOT VERY GOOD AS NO ONE KNOWS HOW TO MAKE ONE PROPERLY. THERE IS NOT A LOT OF CHOICE WITH THE DRINK ON A/I. THERE IS NO WERE TO GO OUTSIDE THE HOTEL ONLY NAMA BAY BY BUS OR TAXI (BUS £9 RETURN FOR 2, TAXI £15 RETURN) NAMA BAY IS ALL RIGHT IF YOU ARE LOADED £3 FOR A CUP OF TEA £3.50 BEER AND £6 AND UP FOR A SHORT.THE PLACE OVERALL IS GOOD JUST THE FEW THINGS IV POINTED OUT. SNORKELING IS A MUST.

Comments:  We were slightly apprehensive after reading the reviews and wondered if we had made the right choice. Don't believe all you read, some people are never happy and expect far too much
My partner booked the holiday for my 50th birthday and his parents also came with us to celebrate. I wanted to get away without too much fuss to chill out not too happy about hitting the big 50 It was the best I could have expected.
Our room was fantastic, absolutely massive and all fittings and furnishings were perfect We booked the premium jacuzzi rooms and were over the moon with what we got. All of the male cleaning staff were brilliant Nothing was too much trouble ! When he saw my birthday cards on the day of my birthday, he decorated the room with petals and made two kissing swans out of the towels. Yes the food was repetative, but fresh, clean and tasty There was always something you could eat, even for a fussy eater like me. The restaurant staff did not expect a tip and were very grateful if they got one. You were always recognised and greeted and served with drinks quickly.
The evening of my birthday, after our meal, eight of the waiters dressed up and came to the table with musical instruments and sang happy birthday to me in egyptians and also english, at least three times. A bit of a shock at first, but really great to look back on. Then they brought an absolutely fantastic birthday cake super scrummy dark, light and white chocolate and even had "happy birthday" and my name written on it ! A wonderful night. On the night we were leaving four of the waiters came out to see us off when the bus came to pick us up and waved until they could see us no more. Really touching !!
There is a great little lobby bar near reception if your not one for the entertainment, which wasn't very good to be honest, but we didn't go for that anyway so we were quite happy in the lobby bar Again the waiters were gr8 and sometimes even brought a next round of drinks when they saw the empty glasses without being asked, and it was busy.
There are 2 pools, a large one and a smaller one designed around a boat We went for the smaller one and the towel boy couln't do enough for us. We tipped him with two pounds coins on the first day, and after that he had the towels laid out for us every day in the same spot, regardless of how many people were there and we tipped him again on the last day, so no saying he only did it for the tip.
The beach is fantastic. The beds are spaced out more, unlike the Baron ones next door and there is plenty of beds. You can also paddle out near the jetty if you're not a snorkeller like me, and the fish are swimming next to you. My partner and his dad love snorkelling and were right there in among it every day.
As for the First Choice service, the rep we had was fantastic She had only been there for a few weeks but was definately on the ball. She worked extra hard to make sure everyone was happy and helped sort out my suprise flowers that I had delivered on my birthday by my partner.
I can't praise the Conrad enough. So much so that we have already booked again for two weeks next june and it can't come soon enough.
9/10 the only reason was the repetitive food and lack of entertainment, but as the food was of high standard it isn't really a critisism.
If you're thinking of booking DO. I'm sure you'll love it as much as we did

Comments:  first of all first choice ask u to pay and extra £12 per person for seating to be together on the plane, there were 7 of us and we were seated seperate.

the hotel, we paid for 3 rooms, because there were 3 familys, we were giving a joint room where we had to share a bathroom, which isn't convenient when the people in the other room go out, coz u cant go to the tiolet or shower

you have to ask for soap from the maid other wise u get 1 bit of soak for your entire stay so make sure you catch the maid for soap

the beds are the worst beds as soon as u sit on it, it sinks down.

only some of the beds had quilt covers, it wasn't till the 3rd day we all got them, we kepts going to the reception and phoning from the room to ask for quilt covers, either theyd bring a sheet or say they dont understand our laungue.

same food everyday

also watch coz theres a horse riding person go around the hotel asking u to come called omar horse riding club, they tell u a price, once u get to the place its double the price. when u buy the photos they say its £20 and theyll bring it to the conrad when they turn up they say they want £175

Comments:  Went to the Conrad for our Honeymoon and I must admit that after reading all the negative reviews I was not looking forward to it. The reviews I had read all had the usual comments of "food terrible" "rooms untidy/scruffy/old" and I wondered what we had spent £1300 on and whether we were making a terrible mistake!!

We flew with First Choice and to be honest this was the only down side of the holiday! The staff were unhelpful (we didnt book a meal and it seems that you dont receive 100% customer service from them as they tend to ignore you!). The flight was cramped, on board entertainment lousy and as we hadnt booked a meal the choice of sandwiches/snacks was almost non existent!! For those of you not booking a meal I would seriously think about booking one!!! We got to Egypt starving!!!

We arrived at the airport in the early evening and it is a very busy airport. When you get into the airport only buy a visa if you plan on venturing out of SINAI - i.e to Cairo etc... dont be scammed by queuing for one!!
Also be prepared to tip to have your cases loaded onto your bus when you finally get through! We took £1 coins with us and the Egyptians love them!!

When we finally got to the Conrad it was by now dark and the hotel was lit up, it looked beautiful. Check in at the reception is a bit manic as your bags are brought to your room by staff so there is alot of standing around and waiting about to be escorted to your room.
Our room was overlooking the outdoor heated pool (there are 2 pools in the complex). The room was stunning. Clean, decorated to a high standard and with everything you could dream of for a week away. There was a complimentary basket in the bathroom stacked full with toiletries/shower cap/nail file/cream etc, thick towels were provided and it just spotless!! I started to wonder why people had complained. The rooms are cleaned everyday, our beds were changed everyday, we had clean towels every day and the male cleaner even did a bit of origami with our towels which was superb!

There are 3 restaurants at the hotel, 2 being buffet style and the other al a carte. Note that you have to pay for drinks in the al a carte but we ate there twice in the week we stayed as the service was superb and it was more relaxing than the hustle and bustle of being pushed about in the self service ones. All the food that we had during our week was of a high standard and varied each day. Understand though that due to their religion and beliefs they do not serve any pork based produce so don't be surprised to see Veal sausages at breakfast! The menu is based on a wide genre of nationalities that visit the hotel so it isnt your typical English breakfast/lunch/dinner. There is something to suit everybody and their range of fresh salads is out of this world! Fresh bread is served at every sitting and the waiters can't do enough to help you!

For those of you thinking of changing your money before you go be aware that Sterling is widely accepted as are American dollars. There is a cash point within the hotel that changes currency and this was giving a better rate than that at home!! We were gutted that we took Egyptian pounds with us as they prefer sterling!!

The hotel's entertainment is probably the only thing that I can possibly fault. The entertainment is based on audience participation so if this isnt your cup of tea then avoid it! You may be dragged up out of your seat or have people kissing you, grabbing items of clothing from you and then being made to do a silly Egyptian dance on stage! Also there is no smoking ban as yet out there so the bar areas are constantly filled with cigarette smoke. I suffer from Asthma and this played hell with me! The other thing is is that if you intend on staying up past 11 then you have to pay for your drinks after this time! Clever way of making money! All drinks up to then are free. You also have to pay for ice cream (at any time of day). We had 2 ice creams and paid £5 for them but it was a hot day so we made an exception of that!!

The beach is clean, with various bars and snack bars scattered across it. There is a floating pier which you can walk to the end of and scuba dive. We didnt dive but we could see the fish from the pier.
We booked a glass bottom boat trip from one of the scuba/diving schools situated on the beach and paid £20 for a 2 hour trip. This included transport to Na'ama bay, the boat trip and a drink onboard the boat. This was the highlight of my holiday as we saw all the coral reefs, the fish were like nothing I have ever seen before....we even saw a few Clown Fish (Nemo fish). It brought tears to my eyes to see something so beautiful.

We booked a taxi with the hotel to Na'ama Bay in order to watch a Welsh rugby match which was being shown in a bar. The taxi driver asked us if we wanted a return which we did and then said that when we had fininshed our trip to go to see his cousin and he would phone him to pick us up to bring us back. We got dropped off at the cousins shop , were led into the shop and told that before we could leave we had to buy something from his range of fake leather goods!! We didnt go back there for our return taxi. Just be cautious and remember that you can always say no!!

We went to Na'ama bay just the once. It is a very busy town, with people trying to drag you into their shops and restaurants but again, just smile and say no thankyou. We ate at the Hard Rock and found it very very cheap. We paid £12 for a two course meal with drinks!

All in all this holiday was brilliant. The weather was beautiful and we didnt want to come home! I would reccomend this hotel to anyone but I would think about giving First Choice a miss as they were non existent throughout the week we were there.....other than trying to get us to book as many trips as possible!!
Ignore any previous negative reviews that you may have read, this hotel is probably one of the best I have been to and I look forward to going back.
Thankyou to all the staff at the Conrad , they are so curtious and helpful!

Comments:  the conrad was an amazing place to stay we stayed in the newly built rooms and they were very pretty and cleaned everyday. there are 2 pools the main pool where there is entertainment during the day or the smaller heated pool both beautiful and clean. the staff are friendly and offer any help they can as well as the entertainment team who are absolutly fantastic and really make your holiday. the food is not the best but not bad they try to vary it from day to day, alot of it is made fresh in front of you, the bread is lovely, they offer snacks as well as your 3 meals throughout the day so there is no chance of you getting hungry, any1 going there is lucky n u will have an amazing time. if you want to go out the best clubs are in naama bay so make sure you visit pacha and little buddha although people telling you its really cheap out there are lying to you we found it to be pretty expensive

have fun and i guarantee u will love it

Comments:  I would love to give the Conrad 10/10 but sadly it is let down by its age! What it lacked in tatty rooms (we asked to be moved as it was our 25th wedding anniversary and our room was awful) it makes up for with its wonderful friendly staff.

We were moved to a wonderful room directly on the beach but not used by First Choice. Our neighbours were all Russian but the room was new, modern and had the jacuzzi we were promised without the mould and missing tiles! The staff told us we would have paid less for this room as it was smaller, shame First Choice don't use them.

We were very disappointed by the reps who seemed only to want to take your money for the trips... we booked the glass bottomed boat from the beach and paid £10 each, one family we spoke to had paid £108 for the same trip!!! It was well worth a tenner each but we would have been gutted if we had paid that amount! The same applies to the quad bikes if done via reps is very disciplined and all followed in line... some people we met booked on beach, paid less, did sunrise and were able to do what they wanted!

We are really torn as we want to go back but then read reviews such as for the Baron - right next door - and feel we should really see if we have missed out!

Egypt as a place is amazing, the snorkelling is unbelievable even if you are a baby like me and have to pluck up courage to go deeper!

We are saddened that we cannot give Conrad more but some urgent work needs to be done to the rooms... sorry guys!

Comments:  I'm 28 and went to Sharm-el-sheikh for xmas 2007 with my missus for 7 nights and had a brilliant holiday. I was wondering what to expect before i got there after reading previous bad reviews but within minutes of arriving at the conrad my worries were gone. Check-in was a painless evolution, the staff were very efficent and the bags get taken to your room by golf buggy which is a novelty.

My only gripe with the holiday is the operator...First choice are a pretty bad outfit and the fact is that they are only after your cash and you become a second class citizen if you don't part with hundreds of pounds on the morning of the welcome meeting. We never saw the reps again after the meeting until they came to pick us up on our departure day-absolutely no customer service and very little help with local knowledge and customs which i was pretty annoyed with as it was my first time in egypt!
We did go on 2 trips:- Boat trip to Ras Mohammed and the evening with the Bedouins. Both trips were really good and to be fair the prices were quite reasonable, would definetly recommend both.

Our room at the hotel was of a good standard...nice big comfy bed, good view, clean bathroom and towels changed everyday and bed made daily too just be aware that if you do eat or drink anything from the mini-bar then you are charged for it at the end of your stay, its very easy to run up a bill.
The food in the restaurant is very good, plenty of choice and its all fresh and tasty. The staff are v friendly although sometimes they do need asking twice to get the drinks, they can be a bit slow. Never ate in the italian restaurant because i thought that it was a bit of a con that you have to pay for your drinks on an all inclusive holiday!
You get pestered a little on your first day round the pool or on the beach by people trying to sell you trips or do fake tattoo's etc. But once you tell them that you are just there to chill out they quickly leave you alone and let you crack on.
Obviously the snorkelling is amazing, i couldn't get enough of it but i'm sure you'll find that out for yourself. We went to Naama bay just the once and that was enough for me, you get hassled a lot, however make sure that you have a look around the shopping precinct at the bottom of the main drag because their are some really good shops and DO NOT be afraid to barter prices, the Egyptians expect it.

As for currency,we took Egyptian pounds and also used Sterling.Never had any problems paying for anything with either currency and we also got our visa before we went to egypt just in case we fancied a trip to luxor or cairo etc...glad we did because the visa queue at the airport was mega long.

Finally, don't worry about Russians-they are there however i didn't find them rude or intrusive and hardly ever noticed them. Stereotypical, loud, Brits abroad were more annoying to be fair on a holiday like this...leave it in Benidorm folks!!

Comments:  I stayed at The Conrad for Christmas and New Year with my parents, as my father is disabled and in a wheelchair I had to choose a destination carefully.

The Conrad is not suitable for wheelchairs BUT the staff and assistance we were given was second to none, although a little scary for my dad being carried up flights of stairs by four Egyptian waiters whilst still sat in the chair, well we did laugh.

The complex was what is described although I agree with other comments on it not being a Five star, (having stayed at The Hyatt Regency in February).

Our rooms were comfortable and clean and ground floor on the beach front so no complaints from me.

The food in the restaurants is of good quality and you wouldn’t starve there is always something for everyone, but do watch the Russians don’t take it all before you get there.

Thanks to Sonia, Ahmed, Mohamed,Moweb, Essan etc etc we had a great time and are thinking of booking for this Christmas!!!

Comments:  Had 2 weeks of lovely weather. The complex was ok, not really our cup of tea. We’ve been all over on holidays, but chose Egypt for the scuba diving as my husband enjoys this on holiday.

He said it wasn’t anything special. There were far too many boats and divers going out to the same area. The hotel is not a 4 star plus as it states in the first choice brochure. It’s clean and the staff are very good.

Very polite and go out of their way to be nice (tamer in the terrace eating area looked after us for 2 weeks and made sure we had plenty of bottled water... which was provided free by the way).

Same on the beach bar at the cabana was a great laugh... he also looked after us very well... making sure our glasses were full all the time.

Watch out for the Russians... the place is full of them and they are the most ignorant of people who are not prepared to queue for anything.

Comments:  Our 2nd stay at the Conrad and once again we cannot fault it. The rooms are large and very clean and the hotel itself is very nice.

The staff are always very friendly and helpful especially the lads around the main pool (Ali and Wael).

The entertainments staff really do a good job and do not pester you to join in if you do not want to, the only thing that could be improved is the evening entertainment as this mainly relies on audience participation.

Overall its one of the best places we have been to and will definitely be going back again.

Comments:  What a disappointment - would never return.

There is no way that this hotel is 5*. I have been to Sharm el Sheikh previously and stayed in The Three Corners - Kiroseiz (which is listed as a 3*) and it is a much nicer hotel, better entertainment, friendlier staff, cleaner environment and better food.

I was really excited about staying in a hotel that is linked with the Hilton chain - luxury here we come. - WRONG. Before we booked the holiday I looked on the official website for the Conrad - wow I thought.

The official website is very misleading. The things that the website states do not happen.

One thing that my daughter (7) was really excited about was the complimentary bath slippers for each guest - not there on our arrival, when I enquired about them I was told that I had to buy them from the supermarket down the road - what is that about? I know it is a silly point but my daughter was so looking forward to them and she was very disappointed - and the supermarket only opens 10.00am -11.30am, and then they hadn't got any.

Be aware - all inclusive is not all inclusive - mini bars is not included and is very expensive. Drinks are not included after 11.00pm (who on holiday stops drinking at 11.00pm? - not me that is for sure).

If you wanted a fruit cocktail during the day - it was extra, and the price depended on who was serving you - ranged from £2 - £2.25. - A bit steep for a glass of juice.

Ice creams were extra too and the choice very little - only magnum available.

Hotel very tired and unclean - bathroom was disgusting. Foul smell of drains throughout the whole room. We spent 2 full days without any toilet paper - despite constant requests for some. No water for 1 full day, couldn't use the shower, sink, or the toilet. Never had enough towels. 2 for a family of 3.

Hotel staff very abrupt and unfriendly - apart from the animation team. We were told when we booked that there was children’s entertainment - this comprised of a 20 minute mini disco at 8.30pm every evening.

Evening entertainment was very poor - basically the poor over worked animation team cobbled together a very basic 1 hour mish mash of unorganised 'entertainment'. Constantly hassled by staff to participate in entertainment. Very often entertainment didn’t start until 10.00pm as not enough participants could be found.

Taxis booked through the hotel - on time and staff friendly but make sure you agree the price with the driver BEFORE getting into the taxi. We went into Old Sharm and were quoted 150 by the hotel, and then when we came to get out off the taxi the driver wanted 200. - We were locked in until a member of staff opened the door from the outside. YES - you do get locked into the taxis until you pay. Can be frightening for children.

Food - very poor - same old sad food day in day out - irrespective of what themed night is was. My family is very adventurous in what we eat but even we ended up eating chip butties (not what you expect to be eating in Egypt).

You have to battle for drinks and you get bottled water if your waiter decides you deserve it. Alcohol is domestic brand and is very strong and tastes foul. You can get international branded alcohol but you have to pay extra for it.

If you have children - be aware that the staff will not leave them alone, although this is nice - their way of having a joke with a child is different to ours and can be quite upsetting to the little ones - don't take this to heart their way is just different. They love children out there, especially little blonde girls. This can be quite scary at times - make sure you keep kids with you at all times when outside resort.

Shopping - well what can I say - you can get all manner of goods from Egypt. If you are good at haggling - go to Olde Sharm, they have some excellent shops which you can really bargain down the price. But don't be afraid to say no when you are approached in the streets. Sometimes you have to be very firm.

If you love bags and shoes - like me - you will be in heaven. All the designer brands are available - obviously they are not genuine, but neither are they crappy Turkish replicas. If you know what you are looking for some very good fakes can be found.

DO NOT LET ANY SHOP KEEPER SHUT THE DOORS ON YOU IN THEIR SHOP!!! - You will not get out without buying something expensive and overpriced. If someone goes to shut the door on you - walk out.

Naama Bay is fab - but more expensive than Olde Sharm. Naama Bay is where tourists go and is brilliant at night, well worth a trip just for the experience. Plenty of good restaurants and Shisha bars. Pasha and Little Buddha are there if you are looking for a good clubbing experience.

You do get hassled by the shop owners - but this is normal - do not make the mistake of telling them it is your first time in Sharm.

All of this said - we love Sharm el Sheikh and are planning on going back next year. But not to the Conrad.

Comments:  It was our first visit to Egypt so were both a little nervous as we heard all the stories of food problems and water problems so we went well prepared medicine wise!

To our surprise we didn’t need them. Our hotel was excellent very clean and the staff were very helpful on our last day they made things out of our towels for a tip of course! The food was made fresh every day and there was plenty of choice and bottled water was handed out whenever needed.

The beach was a little rough sand wise but the sea was crystal clear and warm. There was entertainment every night of a different sort to cater for all tastes. The hotel had a gym and salon we chose to have our massages on the beach very nice indeed.

We went on two day trips booked by our travel agent and these were excellent, our guides were very helpful and informative and our transport provided was sufficient.

On the whole we were pleasantly surprised with Egypt and will be going again and would recommend it to anyone.

Regards Kaz.

Comments:  Very disappointing hotel, only a 3 star.

On arrival were allocated an awful room with a dated mouldy bathroom, so we insisted a move to new part near of the hotel by the pirate club. The rooms were much cleaner and newer.

Make sure you take plenty of medicine, loads of guests had upset tummies, including us. First choice brochure over rates the hotel and are dealing with our complaint, if you can call it that. Never a 5 star only a 3 star. Couldn't wait to leave, book if you fancy losing a stone in weight whilst on holiday as you will never be off toilet.

Would never return.
