Stayed at Sandy Golf for a two week break with my partner and our 6 year old son.
Had a really lovely relaxing time. The bungalows were very clean and the gardens were immaculate. The pool was excellent-very big. Always managed to get a sunbed (although people did tend to leave their towels on them all day-not just the Germans), there were a mixture of British, Spanish and German people there and we had no problems at all. Staff all very friendly and polite.
My son fell in love with the cats, which didn't bother you unless encouraged.
There wasn't any entertainment in the evenings but there was over the road at Green Golf (the sister hotel). The mini supermarket at green golf was pricey, but handy for basics like bottled water and bread. Infact overall we found Gran Canaria to be quite expensive for most things-due to exchange rate.
Found a great pub in Grand Chaperalle shopping centre- The Windmill and Brittania (both British owned)-reasonably priced and showing football and English tv. Brittania-English food at great prices, friendly staff-especially Freddy! only a short cab ride away for about 3 euros.
Beaches were very crowded and a bit windy-wasn't over keen!!!
After reading some of the reviews, i was worried-but we hired the safe and everything was great. We really did have a lovely time. Just make sure that you take loads of spending money-because it is very expensive.

Me & my boyfriend went to the sandy golf. We are quite a young couple and we were looking for somewhere relaxing. When we first arrived the bungalows it looked really nice and tidy and we liked it. The second day we went out and when we came back there was a maintenance man in our bungalow, which we didnt really mind but we thought that we should really have been informed that someone was going to be in there, as all our belongings were in there. There were also a few cockroaches which we killed with a spray that reception gave to us. Communication was not good at all, buses did not turn up some days at the beach and the complex catered more for germans than british people. On the day before we went home, 2 people that we had spoke to, which included our next door neighbours got robbed of their posessions and reception did not do anything to help and there was no aplology. We found this shocking and unacceptable. there were also another northern couple that we bumped into a few times in and out of the site that had also been robbed. (i think they have a review on here as well miss russel?) We heard about burglaries years ago, but we thought the problem would have been solved or security improved but this is obviously not the case, Also we are VERY lucky as one night we returned to the bungalow and the door was unlocked, we think the maid forgot to lock it. Apart from all these problems, the only thing good about this place was the bungalow itself and the BBQs on wednesdays! Everyone who got robbed thought it was the people who worked there. So unless you want to have a nice stay but have the risk of being burgaled..DO NOT GO THERE. We will never return to that place.

My Mother has already placed a review on here, but, now i am back from my holiday, i would like to place a review of my own, to let everybody know just how disgusted i am in both Cordial Sandy Golf, and in Jumbo Tours, and advise anybody against staying here, unless you do not mind the lack of security, and the abysmal service that Cordial Sandy Golf provide.
We were broken into within a couple of hours of leaving the complex, and it was only the recptionist and another member of staff that knew we were leaving for the day, in which we had enrtrusted our keys for safe keeping, when we reurned new keys had been added to our bunch and later removed when handed back to us, as yet we do not know what these keys were used for. On reporting our burglary to the hotel reception, we recieved no help whatsoever, they did not call the police, they gave us the advice to go to the police station ourselves, and even then they would not call us a cab to go to the police station, on Three seperate occasions, within 24 hours. we had to hail our own! I am absolutely appalled by their mannor, and i have intentions of taking legal action within more than one area of my holiday contact.
The bungalows themselves and their surroundings are absolutely beautiful, and were the nicest appartments we had ever stayed in, but DO NOT be fooled by their appearances. not all is as it seems.

We stayed at the Sandy Golf Bungalows in Maspalomas which have recently been refurbished. The bungalows were quiet and peaceful and ideal for couples or families. The pool was great, the poolside bar offers nice food and various drinks and the shopping centre and beach are just minutes away. The staff are friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back there again.

Absolutely fabulous holiday in a wonderful resort. The bungalow we had was superb - everything was clean, it was lovely and quiet and we had a little drying space out back as well as the patio. The bungalows are ideally situated for Faro 2 (the shopping centre) and it’s only a 25 minute walk to the beach. We did a trip through the interior of the island which was breathtaking. It was a local company and was miles cheaper than the same trip organised by Thomson.
I'd recommend Sandy Golf to anyone looking for peace and quiet in a stunning part of the world.

This was a second holiday as we had been to Menorca in June for two weeks. We thought that the place was fantastic with very good staff. Yes, there are lots of Germans but our lot were fine and didn't mind the numerous children playing in the pool.
The bar and restaurant in the complex is great service, good food at very reasonable prices. The place was never noisy and is a must for people looking for a relaxing holiday. My son is 13 and he made friends with the kids in the bungalow opposite.
There are cats but they never bothered us and kept away if you did not want anything to do with them. We are just in the middle of booking a two week break at Sandy Golf at Easter next year. There are lots of good restaurants just up the road at the Faro 2 Shopping Centre and a good little supermarket over the road at Green Golf.
We went to Green Golf complex one day and that was much noisier and even though the accommodation was bigger we were told by a couple that our complex was much nicer. Most of the people we met were visiting the place for a third or fourth time. HIGHLY Recommended.

Fourth year here at Sandy Golf, we are a couple early 50's, been holidaying abroad for 30 years. This complex is very very clean, the bungalows are laid out within very well maintained gardens. The pool, is quite big, very clean and never ever a problem getting sunbeds at any time of day. The whole complex has been refurbished. Friendly cats are around, if you ignore them, they ignore you, but if you like to feed them, you will have friends throughout your stay.
Sandy Golf is really quiet in the evenings, people who stay in the complex just relax on the bungalow patios. Night life is a walk or taxi drive away. Football, food, and shops are a walk away at Faro II, night life, the raunchy stuff is a 2.5Euro taxi ride away at the YUMBO centre in Playa-De-Ingles, plus exchange your Stirling there and if you get ciggys do it at the Yumbo.
If you are self catering for a week or more, get a taxi to San Fernando (locals town) a 3 Euro ride from Sandy Golf to the Spar International, and stock up from this big 2 storey Spar shop, great prices for food and booze. So, Sandy Golf is a great mix of English, German and Sanish holidaymakers. We are there in March 2008, and September 2008, already booked. Got told by the other half not to write this review as too many people will start going - Yep, it is that good - ENJOY

On arriving at Sandy golf my family were thrilled; Bungalow was nicely furnished etc, pool looked very nice.
Unfortunately my youngest boy was scratched within 30 mins by one of the many cats on site. Then things started to go downhill... Our first day around the pool started ok, children playing near the kids pool as they do, only to be greeted by an irate German women telling the kids to be quiet, then more Germans started to tell the kids to be quiet.
My wife went to reception to complain, he basically said Germans have more bungalows than English - not satisfied we rang our rep who quickly came to see us only to be mobbed by Germans in the reception, Tanya (our rep) was disgusted by their behavior and told us we can't stay there.
We went across the road to Campo Golf and had an excellent holiday, Kids splashed about and had loads of fun! WARNING... please if you have kids DO NOT take them to Sandy Golf I found the place to be very hostile, manager was useless and I only gave it an overall rating of 2 because the bungalow was decent... P.S you have been warned!!!!!!

Have just returned from a two week break in Maspalomas, was supposed to stay at the Sandy Golf Bungalows but after 2 days we were moved. We travelled as a party of 7 my husband and I our three children aged 8 years, 5 years and 1 year and my parents.
On arriving at the bungalows we were really pleased with what we found, the bungalows were really nice and clean, and pool area was beautiful. As we arrived on the Saturday night our first day was the Sunday so in the morning we got ready and went to the pool as you do. There were two shaded areas on either side of the childrens pool one was full but the other had 2 spare loungers underneath, the other 4 loungers had towels on them but no guests, we used the 2 loungers under the shade for the children and put our loungers in the sun. At 3pm 2 German couples came out to their loungers which were next to ours in the shade and it was obviously a problem that we were there. One of the German men picked up our lounger and shoved it forward so that he could move his lounger out of the shade and into the sun. We didn't say anything and just got on with our day bearing in mind we had been there all day and not touched any of their things even though it clearly states that no towels are to be left on sunloungers and these people did not appear until 3pm, but the fact that we had children was obviously a big problem.
The next day we arrived at the pool and one of the German ladies went over to the empty loungers and sat on one even though her towel was on a different lounger. I went over and put my childrens towels on the one empty lounger under this shaded area. We had to stay at this end because this is where the childrens pool was. When I spoke to my children the Germans were telling me to shush and one of the ladies told one of my sons off for running past her when he was wet. My two boys were playing in the childrens pool and I was next to them pushing my daughter on an swing when another German lady from another area of the pool turned round and started shouting at my children and telling them to be quiet by this point I was furious we had only been out 10 minutes.
I went to the Reception to complain and was told to ring my Rep if I had a problem, so I did. My Rep was there within half an hour and was fantastic. I explained what happened and the Receptionist agreed to talk to the Germans if they came to the office which one of the ladies agreed to do. Upon entering the office another 3 German ladies came in and they all just basically ganged up on me, even my Rep was shocked at how nasty they were screaming and shouting at me. It was basically a problem that we had children and we were British, their words not mine. My Rep asked if children were not allowed but the office said yes they were. The male Receptionist who one of the German ladies was on first name terms with sided with the Germans because they had more bungalows than us, again his words not mine. Within one hour we were moved to the Campo Golf Bungalows which is just around the corner and has a very peaceful setting just like Sandy Golf but children are made very welcome.
I would not recommend Sandy Golf to anyone based upon the way we were treat and especially if you have children. We also have video of our children playing in the pool and they are just playing not screaming and shouting which is how I was treat by these nasty people.

Lovely complex. Would recommend it to anyone. Very international, lots of Spanish and Germans when we were there. A Huge pool very clean with loads of sunbeds around it.
Bungalows are very clean and towels and bedding changed every other day.
No activities during the day or night so expect a relaxing holiday. Great for my family as the kids were only interested in the pool.
Supermarket is across the road at the Green Park Bungalows. Very limited choice in here but great for the essentials. Use other supermarket in Faro II for more variety.
If you need your own taxi transfer from the airport - it costs around 35 Euros each way.
In the evening, we found the best restaurant in Faro II Centre. Called Las Tapas on the 2nd floor with the green umbrellas overlooking the children’s play area. Food and service was excellent. Spent most of our evenings here. Tried other restaurants in Faro II and in Playa del Ingles and the lighthouse (Melonoras area) - Still Las Tapas served the best food and drink! Highly recommend a visit!
Visited Aqualand! Great place but expect to dip in your pockets. You pay to get in 39 Euros for adults and 26 for children. You need to hire a locker at 4 Euros and you need to pay for sunbeds although we did not bother as we spent all our time on the rides.
You can hire your own inflatable at 5 Euros plus 5 deposit. This can be used on 3 rides but really is only beneficial on one! Wouldn't bother next time use the free ones! Food is dearer than in resort!
Other than that great fun!

We have just got back from Sandy golf bungalows and it has been the best holiday ever.
Everything was so clean and tidy and the swimming pool was great and big.
We never had to rush to the sun beds because there was always some there.
There are lots of shops and resturants which are the best.
A shopping centre called the yumbo is the best it has resturants and lots of shops and bars.
We recommend a bar named diamonds it’s so friendly we went there every.
The taxis are cheap only about 2.50 euros depends on where you go but always cheap.
We do defiantly recommend this sandy golf bungalows and if you like golf there’s a massive golf course next door.
The best holiday ever.

Spent a week at sandy golf and loved it.I was abit worried when i booked after reading a bad review, but that soon changed when i got there.
Arrived at around 8 in the evening while it was still warm and sunny outside. The bungalows are very modern and very clean.Kitchen has your basic needs for s/c -cooker,toaster,coffee maker, pots, cutlery plates, cups etc.(we brought our own tin opener and corkscrew)shower is great, bedroom is spacious.Went outside for a look around, couple of kids were just coming out of the pool while my other half was jumping in(allowed in pool quite late)the bar was quiet-the whole week we were there,no entertainment but i was ok with that as we went out most nights. The bar did nice food -breakfast lunch and dinner/snacks/drinks/lollies.Drinks and crisps quite expensive.supermarket across the road at green golf, its hidden downstairs under main entrance. Also faro 2 shopping centre is a 5 minute walk.It has a big supermarket(has everything)and quite reasonably priced, great bars+restaurants banana bar was our fav.the guys(bar staff) are great fun there.Great music, free snacks, quiz nites.only downside to sandy golf was a very rude staff guy which hopefully has stopped working there by the time we go back.enjoy!

Our 7th visit to Sandy golf. This year all of the bungalows have been sympathetically upgraded improving on what is a great location. We enjoyed returning each day to our little bungalow set in mini-botanical gardens.
We purchased through lowcostbeds.com which has lower prices than the travel agents and no under-occupancy supplements. We travelled with ThomsonFly.com - left feeling like cattle and shall be avoiding that airline in the future if possible.
A taxi from the airport is €35 and much less hassle and more comfortable than booking the overpriced transfers with the airline or travel agent.
A couple of reviews above mentioned having been broken in to. This happened on our first visit 7 years ago, so I would recommend purchasing the use of the safe for you visit.
We also purchased the use of the television and armed with a small DVD player and several movies have everything that’s needed for a night at the movies.
Cooking facilities are adequate/limited – local supermarkets are overpriced and often more expensive that eating out. Food in the Sandy Golf/Green Golf restaurants is edible but uninspiring - a better selection of restaurants only a short walk away in Faro 2 Centrum
This year we went on the dolphin/whale see seeing boat trip. This is a great trip and we managed to see loads of dolphins and the occasional flying fish – take your camera and a get ready to be impressed.
Wi-Fi would be a nice addition if anyone at Cordial is reading this!
Overall a great place for couples and friends to have a relaxing break in the sun.
