Our party of eleven adults have just returned from these apartments, the standard of which is basic but excellent. They are in a very good location, close to the beach, harbour and night life and to the old village of Kefalos.
They are family run,the owners always on site. Katerina and Antonio manage the letting of the accommodation and the pool bar.
Their father Nic looks after the pool and grounds, their mother Savi manages the cleaning, house keeping duties and helps with the cooking.
Reasonably priced snacks are available from the pool bar with most of the vegetables coming from the grounds.
- Advice: Would have no hesitation in returning to these apartments or to this area.

Have just returned from holiday at Artemis Apts. Kefalos.
We had an upstairs apt. with views up to old village, very clean, spacious, and met people who seem to return to these apts. year after year. Lovely pool and snack bar.
Owners very friendly. Kept room on till 7pm for departure from apts. at 9.15pm.
Sadly a lot of places closed in Kefalos, a sign of the times I expect, nevertheless plenty of lovely tavernas and no "touts" outside to pull you in. Very quiet little resort but lots of trips available if you so wish.
Nice sandy beach near the harbour.

On arrival, even though it was late at night, we were met by all the family who made us all feel very welcome. We had an upstairs apartment which was very well equiped and had with views overlooking olive trees.
The pool had just opened and everything was clean and fresh. Many of the guests were 'returners', as we will be in 2010.
- Advice: Loved it. The pace was just right for us

just returned from these spacious apartments the pool was a bonus we were the only ones around some of the time so it felt very exclusive. Kefalos is lovely with plenty of places to eat we liked captain john free soup and cake, sebastians near the harbour so much food but excellent free peppers and cougettes with pitta bread to start Argo for a prefect view of the bay good fish and lamb in the oven was to die for. Ths sea is crystal clear but a little cold. Nico and Katerina welcomed us with big smiles and thier apricots were delicious just had the last ones for tea!! We will be back as long as the tour operators continue to go to these typical greek resorts rather than the ruined music filled ones where every thing is too english. Oh and you can get large draught beer in an ice cold glass for 1.50 euro!! Do go to memories bar on the front Poppi and family will make you very welcome and you get a free suprise in the evening as well.
- Advice: Go while its still greek
- Activities: swimmng relaxing and good food

We have been to kefalos 16 times the last four staying at the artemis apartments nic and his family are always friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them,They have now had a pool built with sunloungers etc and the eating area was about to open the day returned home the rooms and cleaned every other day and the towels and bedding changed at the same time. There is a 24 hour take away not 50 yards form the apartments very useful if you get a bit peckish and walk another 25 yrds and politis taverna awaits michael the owner makes you very welcome and alot of the locals use it,The food is very good Dianisia his wife cooks everything herself the only problem is getting out of there as he doesnt seem to understand the words "time for bed" we have met many friends both english and greek,we dont do the exchange details etc but often bump into them at different times of
the year. I would recommend kefalos to anyone wanting a quite relaxing holiday my wife feels totally at ease walking round the resort on her own doing her "Shirley Valentine"
kefalos 10/10 every time roll on october when we return

Just returned from one week saying here.Weather hot, dry and sunny all week, with average temp 27. The apartments are small, but are ample for your needs. Nick, the owner, made us feel very welcome and always spoke, as did his wife, son, and daughter. The maid service was really good, towels and sheets changed every other day. You don't need a torch, there is enough light, when returning at night. To see the rest of the island, transport is a must.we hired a quad from Katerina's, great fun, and got to see so much. The best steak dinner can be found at Sabastian's, half way between the beach and the harbour. The best burger is from the Australian Bar on the main road.If you want a holiday where you can kick off your shoes and relax, then this is the place for you.

The Artemis apartments are excellent.
Sited just down the road from the petrol filling station about 50 yards up a well lit concrete path. A two storey block about 8 years old with a total of 10 apartments.
Spotlessly clean and bright rooms with good kitchen facilities - fridge with freezer compartment, 2 ring burner, toaster and kettle, adequate pots, pans, glasses & cutlery.
Small dining table with two cushioned chairs.
Very bright & spacious rooms with a good sized balcony. Plastic table and two plastic chairs on balcony. Balcony faces west so you get the sun all afternoon
Usual shower and toilet room.
Large wardrobe with two storage drawers beneath.
Dressing table with two drawers with a mirror above.
Single bed-side cabinet.
Good sized wooden framed beds with very firm mattresses.
Sheets and towels changed every other day.
Plenty of hot water from about 10:00am (heated by solar panels) until well into the evening.
Safety box in room - costs about 10 Euros a week .
No air conditioning which could well be an issue in the height of summer but fans can be hired.
No pool or snack bar on site but no problem about using other nearby hotel pools. 24 hour diner and mini-market at the end of the path leading to the block.
Late check-out from room (we stayed until 11:00 pm) costs 25 Euros.
Owners Nick & Katherina are very friendly, obliging and welcoming.
Apartments are well sited. Close to beach and tavernas. Two mini-markets, a 24hour diner and a bar all within 100 yards
My wife and I are regular visitors to Kefalos - we like it because it is a very quiet resort. This year, however, it was even quieter than usual with lots of places closed early. Apparently things had been quiet in the summer but following the XL collapse things became a lot worse. 4 or 5 hotels tied to Libra all closed in mid September as Libra used XL flights and Libra were unable to arrange any alternatives so cancelled all their holidays for the remainder of the season. This seems to have had a knock-on effect with reduced custom in bars, tavernas and shops.
Anyway we still enjoyed ourselves as there were still plenty of places to eat, drink and shop and the weather was ideal.

when we stayed at the above apartments we found the owners to be very rude and unreasonable. on numerous occasions the owners were found to be looking through our windows and we were continually told to keep our then four year old son quiet. although we found kefalos to be the ideal family resort, we found these apartments to be the worst we have ever been in.my then expectant wife found these holiday lodgings to be extremely stressfull and would advise anyone out there never to stay here!!!!

Second time we have spent two weeks here at the Artemis Apartments. If its a quiet spot you are looking for - this is it. Only 10 small very clean apartments with balconies surrounded by nice gardens. The family who run them are very friendly and are always available. Just off the main road - no steep climbs and only yards from the beach. Central for everything. We're headed there again this year.

Wonderful clean apartments, and run by such a friendly helpful family.
Near enough to everything you could need and want, without being too near.
Great base for couples and very peaceful and quiet.
We would recommend these apartments again & again, and cannot wait to get back to Kefalos, and the Artimis Apartments.

Just returned yesterday. Apartments are very good, basic but clean and suited our needs. They were spacious inside, with lots of wardobe space, even lots of coat hangers in them. The balcony was great, table and 2 chairs, and they got the sun all afternoon. The apartments would be greatly improved if they had airconditioning, but we were told they were getting it installed for next year. The family are lovely and very obliging.
The pool area was great, even have a small pool which would suit small kids. Plenty of sunloungers too.
Next door is Manos which is a take-away restaurant, they do a lovely bacon roll. Other side is a supermarket. The beach is a stones throw away.
The downside for us was the amount of quad bikes etc, running up and down the road, we felt you needed eyes on the back of your head to watch for them, the noise from them went on quite late at night.
Bus service to kos can be obtained right outside the apartments, although it only goes into Kos a few times a day, the service itself was good. You can also visit bodrum from Kos every day, although Tuesday is market day so probably the best day to visit. Prices to get there vary from about 10 euros to 20 euros each, plus port tax - so shop around for your ticket. Although getting through passport control on the Greek side is a bit of a nightmare, with only 2 people checking.
Plenty of restaurants and bars. We loved Galini's which is just along from apartments - the souvlaki there was fab. Sidney's also very good. We tried Captain Johns after recommendation for their fish, but have to say it was the most disgusting fish i've ever had. It was supposed to be a fillet of fish but it was like scraps of something else i got, certainly not fish, husband had the chicken which he could have bounced off the wall, needless to say we can't recommend it - perhaps we choose the wrong day to go. The resort itself is very quiet, not suitable for those wanting the nightclubs etc, but great if you want a relaxing holiday with a little bit of nightlife.
