Club Quinta Nova Apartments

I have been going with my husband to Quinta Nova Apartments for 7 weeks in January and February for many years. The apartments are reasonably furnished, including fridge and full size cooker. There is a small supermarket on site which stocks most basic things, and a larger one in the village near the taxi rank.
The site restaurant, coffee bar and bars are closed in the winter months but there is a very good family owned restaurant a few hundred yards down the road and most of the many restaurants and bars are open in the village. There is a good bus service to Lagos,, Albufeira, Praia de Rocha and other places of interest. Buses go from the retunda in the centre of the village near the taxi rank. The taxis are very reasonable. They are not metered, so they have a set charge, so you know exactly what you will have to pay if you ask first.
If you are going anywhere in Alvor from the Airport by taxi it takes less than 40 minutes-not 2hrs.30mins as some sites say, unless of course you are transferring by coach, dropping off at various places. The staff at Quinta Nova are extremely polite and very helpful-nothing is too much trouble.
We have never been in the summer because we cannot stand the very hot weather, winter is ideal for us, usually good warm days, the nights are cooler, but the apartments at Quinta Nova are warm in the evenings, more than can be said for some places, and we strongly recommend them.
