We were placed in the Elma Apartments after our original apartments were overbooked - and weren't we glad! The Elma is well situated for everything especially the fantastic beach. The apartments were very clean and were cleaned with new towels every two days.
The furnishings were basic but comfortable. The receptionist Christina was exceptionally helpful as were the Portuguese in general. We would not hesitate in recommending these apartments.

Just back from Elma, as mentioned on other sites Christina the receptionist was indeed very helpful. The apartments were very roomy, basic furnishings, good sized kitchen with everything you need, and cleaned 3 times in the week. Nice pool, handy for supermarket, restaurants etc. We walked to the old town along the beach in 15 to 20 mins. The strip is about 15 minutes in the other direction. The strip is completely made up of bars, shops, and restaurants. Round of drinks, beers, and soft drinks etc. 7 to 14 euros, depending where you go. All the football and music you could want. We went at the end of the season and got great value.

The Elma Apartments is an absolutely fantastic holiday to go on for all the family. Travelling in our group we had a 16 year old boy, 14 year old girl (me), and two adult partners. The whole family thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
The staff are VERY helpful, especially Cristina (the receptionist). The rooms are very spacious, and have two bedrooms which are both en-suite. The pool is a good size and is never to busy.
The rooms do get very hot BUT every room has 2/3 fans in. You also have the breeze in some rooms coming from the sea. It's about 2/3 minutes walk from the beach, just down a hill. Everything is very close. As it is in the middle of two towns (Old town and new town), you get a nice choice of what to do in the evening.
I'd definitely like to re-visit it next year & we only came back yesterday!

We stayed in Elma Apartments in May 07, the rooms were basic but very clean and spacious. The location is excellent very close to beach and very peaceful, although only a short walk to the old town or the strip. Both have a selection of entertainment bars and restaurants. The pool area is very nice and has a snack bar. Cristina the lady who manages the apartments is very helpful and always at hand. Had a great holiday and would recommend these apartments.
