Me and my boyfriend went to the Algarve in August and stayed here for a week.
It was very nice and extremely clean.
There was a nice mixture of people staying here..and a friendly atmosphere.
The hotel was only across the road from a really good supermarket..so could easily buy supplies if you needed..which in our case was noodles and oreos.
You could either walk to the lively strip at night which was a 10 minute walk..which had a great atmosphere .or you could walk the other way to the old town which had lots of nice restaurants to eat at...We thought Bank was a good one to go to..
Its a hard decision to make!
The weather was amazing..red hot everyday..gained a great tan which was much appreciated!
Also if you really miss your Mcdonalds..there is one a 5 minutes walk away..much cleaner & nicer than the English ones I must say!!
I would definately recommend this hotel..!!!

Me,my partner and 2 friends stayed at the paladim in sept 07 and loved it. We found it to be VERY clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was my girlfriends first holiday so she was anxious and didn't know what to expect but it was everything she could of wanted.
The location was perfect, next door is a big shopping center and food store which is ideal and it's not to far from the old town or the strip.
We prefered the old town to the strip, its very lively with loads of nice places to eat and the bars seemed much nicer there. At night they had street entertainment which my partner loved, loads of market stalls that she didnt stop spending her money on.
The zoo marine was excellent, had a blinding time that day, but got ripped off by the mad taxi driver on the way so next time will get the coach instead.
Really couldn't of wished for a better holiday. It was that good, were going back in july 08. Same location, same hotel, even asked fot the same apartment ha ha
Would recommend it to anyone!!!!

My family visisted these apartments in july 2007 and they were so good we booked again to go back next year. the weather was brill and the location of the apartments was superb. the apartments were clean tidy and the staff were a great help. the pool was clean but make sure you get down early because people ignore the rule about placing towels on the sunbeds before 9am. the apartments are superb but try to make sure you get a pool view otherwise you may overlook a busy road. these aratments are great and if your thinking of booking you will not go wrong. also the rooms are cleaned daily with bedding changed every four days.

The Paladim hotel is ideally situated in the middle of Albufiera, right near the beach (well, 20mins walk) and slap bang in the middle area between the old town and the strip so we could explore both. It has a lovely fresh feeling as soon as you walk into the reception with a computer in the lobby with internet access and a hairdressers attached to the hotel. The staff were very friendly and there is a public bar in the basement of the hotel, also very fresh and nicely decorated. The staff here were lovely and by the end of the week we were all on a first names basis!! the have a huge range of drinks including lots of cocktails (which we just had to sample!!). everytime we went to the bar, a fresh bowl of nuts or crisps (complimentary of course!) were placed on our table. they also did food throughout the day which was also lovely, basic but good (fish and chips, steak, salads). There is also a games room attached to the bar with machines and a pool table. the outdoor pool is lovely and clean and there is plenty of room to sunbathe (we went in december though so pool was freezing!!).
(there is no restaurant so no chance of all inclusive)
The room had a nice fair sized bedroom which was clean, a little kitchen area which had all that you needed to cook in your room every night if you needed to. The room itself has air conditioning and a tv, both worked well and the room was also clean, fresh and bright. we did have problems with our bed (as it was a sofa that pulled out into a double) but staff were very helpful. we had a balcony (looking over the road, but was still nice with table and chairs).
I would definatly stay here again, it was very welcoming and we felt that we could spend a relaxed evening in if we wanted to or an evening out and feel safe and relaxed.
it is definatly good value for money ( if i remember rightly,(was a couple of years ago) it cost us £500 for a week with style holidays). But after research once we got back, we found we could have possibly gotten it considerably cheaper if we'd booked the hotel directly and the flights seperatly but definatly worth it.
There is a zoomarine a short bus ride away which was great, it has all sorts, lizards, seals, birds, dolphins. we actually decided when we got there that we would swim with them, which cost us 150 EUROS, although expensive it was well worth it and you get photos and a dvd of you experience with them. It is a full day out with a cafe/restaurant, water slides and childrens rides etc.

Just come back from an excellent holiday at the Paladim.
Having never been to the Algarve, I was a bit worried but loved it! The people are friendly and chatty and nothing is too much trouble, if you have never been, then go.
The apartments are in between the old and new town, about 20 mins slow stroll to either.
We preferred the old town, lots of shops and bars, lots of choice of food! by night lots of stalls selling jewellery, leather stuff and beach stuff! The square is the place to start. We watched the England match and the atmosphere was fab!
The strip/new town is just like Blackpool, I didn’t like it. lots of bars, we went to Matt’s bar which was Ok but wouldn’t like it in the height of the season. OK for a night but not the place for a nice meal and a chat!
Back to the apartments, clean, comfortable and friendly. Get an apartment overlooking the pool, as the main road in front of the apartments is loud!
Maids are very nice and changed the towels everyday and cleaned also every day.
Pool is clean, need a few more sun beds!
Breakfast is cheap and my mom said she did the best eggs she has had!
Airport was dodgy! Quite small.
Please go to the Koala Gardens restaurant, the best meal we had!
Overall our holiday was great, thoroughly recommend the apartments, all English guest so no German towels, although we English are getting just as bad, there was nearly a flight over a towel when we was there!
Go and enjoy (Modelo nest door, the best supermarket ever!).

My holiday was absolutely fantastic. I went with my wife and two children. We had a blast.
The rooms we in lovely order as they were spacious and modern. They were cleaned everyday if you wanted. If you didn’t all you had to do was leave out the do not disturb sign.
The pool area was clean and there was plenty off deck chairs, although some of them didn't have mats. Although this didn't bother us as we just lay on the towels most of the time anyway.
The games room was enjoyable for the kids and also for me. The bar was right beside the games room so that we could watch the children. There is also an outside seating area where you can sit out and chat in. It’s also used for the apartments restaurant during the day.
There is two supermarkets across the road from the apartments which makes shopping easy. And if there is a night were you don’t want to go out or you don’t want to cook then there is McDonalds and kfc about a kilometre down the road.
I would highly recommend slide and plash as it was a great day out for the whole family! Also zoo marine, the children loved it as they swam with the dolphins, you can book this with your rep, and there were all types off shows preformed by the animals. Such as, birds of prey, tropical birds, and there is an aquarium, which there are sharks and other fish.
Also there is a jeep safari. It was also really enjoyable but if you decide to go bring plenty of water and also a bathing suit as there is a natural spring at the top of the mountain. For adults there is fire water. I didn't have any of course. The jeep safari also takes you to a local's house and shows you their life style.
I would recommend the Palidim very much as I had a brilliant holiday and the staff were very helpful and hopefully I will be going back next year. And make sure you ask for a pool side view as friends have told us that the traffic is nonstop at night time.

I’m just back my holidays from the Paladim Apartments in Portugal.
I found that the hotel its self was very central between the old town and the strip.
The pool was great and the bar was well stocked and the staff were very helpful.
The only complaint that I had was that the cleaning wasn't up to scratch the floors were moped daily but the towels weren't changed daily, and the bed covers were never changed either.
But overall I was impressed by these apartments.

We have just arrived back from these beautiful apartments, which I would recommend to anyone.
Our holiday was allocation on arrival, we were so lucky with the hotel we were given.
Situated between the old town and strip was ideal. Two supermarkets nearby made food shopping easy. The staff were most helpful.
Our rooms cleaned daily [if wished] if you hung out the no cleaning sign we were not disturbed. Clean towels including tea towels daily. Ample cupboards in the open plan kitchen/lounge/dining room.
The only let down was the TV in the room, no English speaking channel except euro sport and Cnn news. However there were four TVs in Eden's bar.
The pool area was clean plenty of loungers.
Loved the quirky worms and clock roundabouts and the traffic drivers were amazing, you only had to step near a crossing and all traffic stopped for you.
The food was great especially steak on a stone.
Plenty of cafes/restaurants on the strip/near hotel/in old town. Bus ride into faro [approx 1hr away] for less than 4 Euros each way.
And a quirky road train, for 3 Euros you could ride as many times as you liked from early morn to after midnight. Buses like coaches.
Well done 5*treatment.

I my husband and two children stayed at the Paladim for two weeks in June 2005.
The location is very good; you are in the middle of old and new town. Ten mins each way, so every night on our way out it was to decide which way to go.
Old town won most of the time as its full of character, street entertainment and restaurants overlooking the ocean.
We also stayed at the Paladim in June 2004 and have booked to go back this June 2007 for two weeks.
The staff are very efficient and pleasant. The bar staff were very friendly and mad us feel very welcome .the bar is quiet and the kids (two boys 8 and12) are very safe here. If you’re looking for entertainment it’s not the place to be!But we loved it.
The room was spotless and towels changed every day. All you need was in the kitchen, kettle, microwave, toaster and it is a very spacious room.
The only snag I had was that I am a very light sleeper and I had to have a room change to overlook pool, as the traffic on the main road is busy.
There is a small supplement to pay, which in the end I did not have to pay ,but would have been very willing to.
It was explained by my travel agent that I can only request a pool view. I would love to be able to pay for it from here and be guaranteed my pool side location, rather than not knowing if it will be available on arrival.
The package is so good I am willing to take that chance, so my fingers are crossed for June 17th.

The hotel was extremely clean we had our towels changed daily & or bedding changed twice a week. We had a room over looking the pool which was lovely at night. The rooms were very spacious & everything you could need was in the apartment. The staff were lovely & friendly & extremely helpful. Next to the hotel is a supermarket which is handy & across the road was various eateries. The Old Town was a 10 minute walk to the left & the strip was again a 10 minute walk to the right. It is a lovely hotel no problems what so ever, plus the pool is cleaned daily, in a morning.
The hotel is in between 'The Strip' & 'Old Town' we preferred the 'Old Town' even though we are only 22 & 25 years old, it was lovely, relaxing with still a good nightlife, live bands etc.
You MUST get to the cake shop which is a five minutes walk from the hotel towards the Old Town it sells amazing cakes at fabulous prices. You also must go to the Zoomarine & the Jeep safari, amazing. Also in between the Old Town Beach & the Strip Beach are amazing coves with water that you can see the fish through.
Over all a beautiful hotel, we had a lovely holiday

We thought the apartments were exceptionally big and spacious the kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could need including T towels which we have never had before. We found the air conditioning was great in both rooms.
We found that you had to get up really early to get a sun bed, they could do with getting more of these. The pool area was very clean and tidy and there were plenty of inflatables for the kids to play with. There was no pool activities so we found it got boring for the kids after the first week.
The location is very poor and was about a 15 min walk to the strip and about 20 - 30 min walk to the old town square.
We found that the strip was in two halves the bottom half was for the young and lively and the top half with Karaoke and entertainment bars that catered more for the kids. Taxi were on hand to take you anywhere for 4 euros.

Sleeping on a camp bed and the sofa is not my idea of a 4 star hotel room. We had no oven to cook food, no dinner plates to eat off, there was no hairdryer and you could not operate the volume on the TV unless you paid for the remote control at the reception.
In a 2 person room - no bed, but there were 7 chairs and a sofa and 4 tables (what for?). The drawers and cupboards we thought were for clothes etc were full of cutlery, cups and saucers. Very disappointed with the room.
It is more than 10 mins to the strip or old town best thing is to get the train.portugal is lovelyplace hotel not very noisy as everyone as to get thier beds out at night.Facilites in hotel very very poor and dont bother complaing because theyv'e had your money!!!
