Good location, not so good meals.
from CarolineNL
Familyhotel in centre of Dalyan. Large rooms, small balconies, free sunbeds. Don't book for meals, no variation and you can go out for inexpensive meals in the lovely town of Dalyan. Dinertime was at half past seven in the evening, which is too late for me.

Comfort and Quality
from Pinscher
Having stayed in Dalyan four times previously we looked forward to staying at the highly rated Hotel Metin. We were not disappointed. The hotel is very comfortable and friendly with an extremely convenient location - and yet it is peaceful. The staff are very friendly and attentive delivering quality service throughout the day and evening. Whilst there are many excellent restaurants in Dalyan the hotel Metin provides bookable evening meals that are very popular and great value for money. The pool area is kept very tidy and is safe and breakfasts on the roof terrace are a joy. Our room was a good size, well provided with clean sheets and towels and there was always warm water for showers after a hard days tanning. I note a review on this site takes issue with a suggested five star rating for the Metin. All I can say is that perhaps it doesn't warrant five stars when compared to some other (and more expensive) hotels - it makes up for any very minor shortfalls by the overall atmosphere of comfort and quality. The hotel is typically Turkish and charming because of it. We enjoyed our stay immensely and compared with the other good places we have stayed in Dalyan - this is the best and we will return. I would not hesitate to recommend it - I would simply be jealous if you get to Dalyan and the Metin before me!
Nice staff, but average hotel
from DAANN
Being a frequent business traveller I'm probably a little spoiled, but to me the hotel is not what I expected after reading the glorifying reviews on this site! It doesn't help others to rate this hotel 'an excellent 5 star hotel' just because the staff is friendly!. Don't get me wrong, the staff IS very nice, although they could use some English lessons.... The hotel rooms are large and spotlessly cleaned (as long as you tip every day...;-), but poorly decorated. The matrasses are hard and the bathroon is very basic. Also the balcony on the 2nd floor are tiny, better ask for a room on the 1st floor. We woke up one morning from leaking rain through the roof, not a nice wake-up call. I would say the hotel is on a good location in a nice little town, but the hotel is what they claim to be: an average 3-star. Nevertheless I had a good time and value-for-money was OK. My husband and i have just returned from dalyan, and although we have visited Tukey before, this was our first time in this resort. we decided to review the hotels on trip advisors web site and im so glad we did. The Metin hotel was as everyone had previously reviewed and as such we booked directly with Helena. We were collected from the airport and within 30 minutes we were on the balcony overlooking the pool..Breakfast was continental on the roof terrace.,overlooking the tombs. Half board was an option this consisted of three courses for 15 lire around the pool area, good value for money and a great way to meet fellow guests who clearly visited year in year out and considered Helena and her staff as part of their extended family. Dalyan is very much a one horse town so dont take your teenagers looking for foam parties and alike, they wont find them. Beer is arond 4lire and spirts 5 in the town and hotel. I would recomend the Albatros bar, its a sort of regge bar with tables on the street where you can watch people walking up and down all night. There are numerous eateries, Alis is great for a steak (about 17lire) and the pancake stall is a must at only a few lire. we got up early and went to see the turtles (our hotel arranged ) fantastic, we also sailed down the river and saw kingfishers and alike. Towards the end of our holiday we and our fellow guests accompanied Helena and her colleagues on an evening river cruise and barbeque ending up with a sing song around the camp fire, great fun. i have been fortunate to travel extensively, however i cannot recall a hotel where staff remember your name and are genuinely happy to speak with you. Dalyan is a must, stay at the Metin and you will not be disapointed.
Great Hotel ... Great Location!
from robtee1
My wife and I had visited Dalyan before but this was our first stay at the Hotel Metin. It was wonderful! The staff were all very friendly and helpful; the rooms were a good size and, with air conditioning, a balcony and a fridge ... and a hairdryer (my wife insisted I mention that!) they were excellent value for money. Breakfast on the roof overlooking the tombs isa great way to start your day. We especially enjoyed the central location . With the river and the town literally on our doorstop we could easilly pop back during the day for a relax by the pool or in the cool of our room. We could not fault our stay. In fact we enjoyed it so much we are returning to Dalyan in September and although Helena tried very hard to fit us in, the hotel was fully booked on the dates we wanted . I should not be surprised!
Go back year after year
from Okcular_man
We have stayed at the Metin at least once a year for the past four years. It is in a great location just metres from the main street but so quiet and peaceful too.. The Hotel is very clean and the staff are all friendly and so helpful. There is a pool side bar that serves food during the day as well. In the evening there is a lovely evening meal laid on which is normally a selection of starters, all lovely. And a couple of hot dishes. We always book are own flights and book direct with the hotel, find it on google. This Hotel was recommended to us and we would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone else.
Great family run friendly hotel
from Shirl1808
We had a great relaxed week at the Hotel. All staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Follow their recommendations as they really do know the best places to vist. Hotel is clean and well situated for all the lovely restaurants, but also very quiet (apart form the cockrel). Great base to explore a brilliant part of the Country, which has to be done by boat from the river front. Don't forget a visit to the mud baths!!!
Wonderful week spent at the Metin
from GemmaB
Really feel compelled to leave a review about this gem of a hotel. We spent a fantastic week at the Metin and have never had such personal yet professional service. The hotel is family owned and the Helenke, the wife of one of the owners shared breakfast with us most mornings. She was so friendly and her and alkl of the staff made us feel so welcome and like nothing was too much trouble. A special mention also to Collette who runs the poolside bar who makes the most lovely food for lunchtime snacks and fantastic conversation to boot. The rooms are basic, but in a nice, minimalist way, and come complete with a mini bar stocked daily with beer, water and soft drinks. The only thing the rooms could benefit from would be tea/coffee making facilities. We stayed in Block B (pool facing) in room 108. The shower rooms are wet rooms but are rather spacious - I would request the same room again as it is at the end of the block so benefitted from a window. The air-con and celing fan is wonderfully cooling for the warm nights. Make sure you dine at the hotel for their evening meals during you stay and also the Safran restuarant is fab with a really warm welcome. We found all the locals very friendly at not at all pushy like you get in some of the larger resorts in Turkey. A trip by river boat to turtle beach is a must as is the mini-bus trip to the other beach. Also DO NOT miss the Saturday market just a 3 minute walk from the hotel. We will hopefully be returning in October. Gemma, 29, Steve, 34 and Francesca nearly 4.
In September I went with husband and parents in law to Dalyan and stayed in the Metin Hotel. We booked The Metin directly with Helenka, the owner, and were not disappointed. The service was excellent. The hotel was spotlessly clean; breakfast was excellent ( I so want the... more
