Epic Hotel

loved the epic, and most of the staff, especially jason, and elvis. Antonio was a show off and wasn't happy when you didnt eat in the restaurant, ronaldo liked the women a lot and no sooner had his girlfriend left he moved onto the next one. Wont go back because jason was sacked. marmaris was beautiful and i would highly recommend it to all, food is cheap and tasty, pool area was lovely although i did get a bad ear infection and had to go the hospital for treatment. went back in august 2007 and stayed elsewhere. going back to turkey again in september this year but not staying in the epic.

me and my bf have just come back from a week in the epic marmaris is was really nice the staff were so friendly and it was really good service very basic but clean will be goin back the next time i visit turkey.

staff very friendly...i have just read an earlier comment about ear infections because of the pool....i did notice about 4 or 5 people with cotton wool in ears , saying they have got ear infections.
when i was up early enough i did notice the pool being cleaned and surrounding drainage...i would definately recommend this hotel..rooms are basic but clean.
now down to the eating and drinking places.....eating i would go anywhere to eat as everywhere is fantastic....however i would recommend visiting the taj mahal indian .....for drinking i must admit i had a soft spot for the september bar (5 mins walk from epic) the staff are out of this world,a family run restuarant/bar....made you feel like one of the family...we have a 5 year old daughter and we couldnt keep her away...dance routines and free pool table for my son 14,will definately be going back next year to visit them all!!!!

First time we booked a holiday in Turkey. Very pleased with the hotel. The pool was one of the biggest as we noticed other hotels have very small pools. The staff were very friendly, especially the reception staff. Our room was clean and airy. We will definatley be returning to the Epic.

I would not recommend this hotel to anybody!
9 out of the 12 in the party contracted an extremely painful ear infection and there were many more in the hotel and had to spent £70 in total on drops and antibiotics, the pool was never seen being cleaned until we complained for the third time (they claimed it was done in the early hours however all of our party came in at different times up to 7am and nobody saw it), in the gutters was thick green slime which smelt awful.
A water treatment sign was put up in the last few days which only tells you the pH.
Apparantly the pool was closed for three days (due to ear infections) before we arrived but we were not told.
We stayed in this hotel last year and were equally dissapointed(we only stayed here because the hotel we were due to stay in was down graded and this was the only available hotel).
The pool staff are rude and ignorant, and we gave up on ordering drinks from staff and went to the bar ourselves as it took over 20mins before we got them eventhough they were not busy!Also I would advise not to keep at tab as it will idefinatly be larger than it should be!

I would reccomend an eyebrow treatment from the salon, basic but the best shape ever had!
yes sir over the road is excellent and friendly, also the great corner steakhouse just down the road is a must T-bone and chicken salad are excellent!!!

The Epic hotel is a nice hotel but they do have some problems.
We were staying at the epic for 2 weeks.
Upon arrival we paid for our aircon and went to our room. Our room smelt a bit funny and the air con was really rubbish especially compared to our friends room so as we had to pay for aircon we decided to complain so we went and told reception the reception woman changed our room to a much better room but it had a much smaller bathroom.
Then on one of our first nights we came in a little drunk (but not causing any trouble) it ended up with the Turkish/Londoner receptionist being very rude and trying to argue with some of my party. As a receptionist he should know how to deal with customers but he was very rude.
We then stayed away from this receptionist but he was very intimidating.
We then went on and enjoyed our holiday half way through our holiday a member of staff asked us if we would move hotel as they had a new party on a flight over to Marmaris and the hotel had overbooked we went to view the hotel they were asking us to move to and the rooms were awful! So we did not move.
The pool closes at 7pm and i was in the pool at 6.45pm a teenage pool boy was tidying around the pool he threw my stuff off my bed onto someone elses belongings he then picked up my drink and we let him know that it was my drink and we were still using our beds and he then threw my drink into the pool.
The hotel has its our restaurant at the front of the hotel the staff on there obviously ask you to come for dinner every night but not in the usual turkish manner. One member of restaurant staff in particular seemed quite angry if you werent having food there and would question why and where you are going.
I have been to Marmaris before and did enjoy the holiday but overall i would never recommend this hotel to anyone!

Just returned from our second holiday in Marmaris at the Epic. Last time was Aug 2006. The rooms were slightly better than last time and the lobby had been updated which was nice. Had a wonderful time and as usual staff were all very friendly and anxious to please. The maids did a wonderful job and rooms spotlessly cleaned every day. Fresh towels most days. Only recognised Elvis and Jimmy from last time but the new guys were great.
Food in Marmaris was of a very high quality (and quantity!) and reasonably priced. It was too hot to do much sightseeing but we had done all that 2 years ago and if anything, Marmaris had improved a great deal. We spent the time just relaxing and swimming. The pool is nice but we did notice they didn't clean the pool area every day unfortunately. The children's pool could have done with a bit more cleaning, too.
We met a great couple (Hi The Eagle & Maureen...!) and went out and about every night and all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Don't miss the "Talk of the Town" show. Well worth it.
Apart from the reception staff (seems to be a world wide thing) the rest of the staff were wonderful and the hotel well worth the money.
As a tour company, First Choice was First Class. Farah, the rep was exceptionally sweet and helpful.

We have just come back from fantastic 14night stay at the epic. The rooms were a bit basic but neednt complain as we were only sleeping there, the pool area was really nice with good assistance from ELVIS, and the rest of the staff. The food was really nice in dream boys and so was the entertainment including ANTONIO and his dancing on the bar lol, and APO getting drunk on a few occasions lol. The excursions are good especially the jeep safari, what a good day out for adults and children. The weekly markets in icmeler and maramaris are really good to if your up for hagling and looking for a good bargain, dolmus picks you up outside the hotel and drops you right outside the market in marmaris for 1.75 lira. We will definately be going back next year!

We just got back from 1 week stay in the epic hotel. I was travelling as a single parent and had a fantastic time in marmaris.
The hotel itself was pretty basic and was a little disappointed when I first arrived. It was extremely quiet and not many guests at all, but the staff were pleasant and keen to help. The only other thing I would say is that the hotel lacks activities or things to do for kids in the evening time. The pool is excellent in the day time, but there isn't anything other than the pool for the kids, even though we were told there were pool tables and kids play area.
Anyway I don't want to sound too negative about this hotel, because overall the staff are so friendly and the food in the hotel restaurant is great.
Marmaris is beautiful and everything is sooo cheap you really cannot go wrong.
We will definatly return to turkey, maybe not in this hotel, just because it isn't that good for keeping the little ones busy, but overall a good holiday.

Just arrived back from a lovely holiday in Marmaris! There was 13 of us all together, which included 9 adults and 4 children. The Epic is a very friendly place, everyone in the hotel was there to help whenever you needed it! Poolside staff are good fun and great with the kids. Service at your sun loungers was a bonus. The rooms were basic, but had everything needed and reflected the money that we spent on the holiday, they were very clean and the maids even did the washing up, which was only left by accident as we were leaving early for a trip one day. Children's pool was ok but could of done with some steps or a slope so it was easier for little ones.
Marmaris itself has a lovely atmosphere and on an evening the harbour is lovely for good food! Iclemar (unsure of spelling) has the better beach (still a bit stoney tho) which is only a short taxi ride away! Water park was nice and rather quiet which was good, and we also went on the turtle beach/mud bath boat trip, it was rather long expecially for little ones but we did still enjoy it!
All in all it was a lovely holiday, and due to the people of turkey, value for money, and lovely surroundings we shall be returning one day!
