if you want a nice place to stay with inapropriate and unnerving staff and a great pool area this is ideal. i have only jus returened from this holiday and found the hotel extreamly nice, saying this i went with my mum and did not take any children. if you do have young children i would not recomend this hotel as there is no kids club and only a tiny childrens pool and a couple of pieces of playground equipment (the type ud pay £20 for in argos for your back yard). however if your children can swim theres a great adult pool for them with a fun slide to. my real issue with this hotel is the ''dream boys'' restaurant at the front. throughout the holiday the staff here made inappropriate comments to me and my mum and were constantly sex pesting. nt only this bt if you did give in there and have a meal it was rubbish burnt meat cold chips and expensive by comparasion to the rest of marmaris. the night we ate there they had to refund 5 out of the 7 tables they served due to the appauling quality. in short if you can put up with the constant pesting of locals and enjoy men constantly leering at you and asking you out or worse asking to buy you (this happened on several occasions) go to marmaris if not dont. if you can put up with the downsides go on some trips lazy day boat trip is great and book with no name there so helpful and generally brilliant customer service. also go to turkish baths but try to get a woman other wize again you have the men pouring over your body and slipping hands where they shouldent. fianally for great food take a walk down to the beach the front is highely competitive pushing up the quality of food tiffinays is the best and is a must visit. i had a lovely hoilday as we made the best of it but would never return due to the pesting.

Felt I must write about the epic apartments in marmaris....my first and I must say my very last time to turkey....from the moment you step of the coach at your resort/hotel you are constantly hassled...we ended up constantly telling them we had already eaten..really annoying.
Was not impressed with the pool at the epic...my 8 year old daughter suffered an ear infection as did other members of our party, as a result the doctor who visited us at the hotel advised no swimming for a couple of days, asked where she would have got this from, his response was" probably the pool"... cooley handing me over a bill for 180 tl before jumping back in his mercedes....120 tl for prescription charges...hardly a great start.
the beach at marmaris is not particularly great....stones and shale. never ever would i go back to turkey and certainly not at the epic.

we got back from the Epic this morning. the hotel rooms were cleaned around twice in our two week stay. one member of staff "Josh" was told he couldnt work for a few days for trying to drag a 16 year old girl upstairs to her bedroom and trying to put his hand up her skirt. he then approached me trying to touch my legs and hold my hands and even sneakily toom a photo of me on his mobile phone and told everyone i was his gf! he is very creepy so stay away from him! also another member of staff was constantly asking me for some vodka which i had brought at the shop! very very rude. a woman member of staff who is at the pool bar stares at everyone like a hawk! constantly givin dirty looks like we are scum.
pool area was nice, decent sized pool, also a slide which is fun, self-catering you have to buy your own toilet roll which is appaling.
beach is a 30 minute walk away or a 5 minute taxi ride.
the best place to eat is the "September Bar" which is down the road oposite the epic. the staff there are lovely and food is great.

After reading the reviews about the Epic that say the staff are rude, I think they must have been at a different hotel to me because the staff, pool, bar and resteraunt were brilliant, yes they are more forward with customers than in places such as Spain, but not in a bad way, I thought it was nice that the staff made an effort with the customers. After only a weeks holiday me and the people I was on holiday were sad to the leave the staff of the Epic because we got along well with them. The rooms are quite basic but they were kept clean and our towels and sheets were changed regularly. You must go on the jeep safari which is brilliant for all ages, and also the lazy days boat trip, we bookede with the non ame agency opposite the hotel and got a great deal, highly recommended. The jeep safari cost 25 lira per person, which is brilliant if you say that there is roughly 53p in one lira.

epic apartments are great, from the day we got there the staff couldnt of done more! our room was very basic but very clean and had a lovely view of the mountains. the pool area was clean and nice for the kids and had a balcony where you could sunbathe if you didnt fancy it round the pool which is really nice. we ate at the dream boys restaurant most nights, the food was nice and the staff were great (robbie, jack, mustafa, josh and the others). the beach is just a short walk from the hotel but it isnt a very nice beach, we were recomended to go to icmeler beach because marmaris beach is so tiny and disgusting! overall the holiday was really good and relaxing, staff are very friendly and the sun is just so hot so beware! the town is great, everything was just great ! definetly going to go back next year, only got back yesterday and miss it so much!

Just got back! I was there with my 14 year old daughter. Hotel and pool area was clean. I had a problem with the main restaurant Dreamboys in as much my daughter had a bit of a crush on one of the waiters so wasn't able to "escape" as much as I would have liked. I didn't enjoy the food there. Maybe its just me but I don't enjoy roast beef, veg and mash after a 45 degree day!! Asking for a salad seemed to insult them and I was sarcastically told to "enjoy my salad". I'm also not a huge drinker so I felt a waste of time and space for them. It gave me time to watch the waiters in action and bottom line is that its all about the money and how much they can squeeze out you, fair enough its a poor country but there is never any excuse for bad manners and rudeness. It really brought it home to me just how contemptious some Turkish people are towards Brits. I am not going into detail of each incident but to summarize my experience, if you like being patronized by people who copy your accent, if you like to chow down to big steaks and chips and guzzle copious amounts of booze every night, all the while nursing the waiters egos you'll have a lovely time.

Just got back from Turkey this morning and we miss it already. The room was basic but very comfortable staff was friendly and helpful everyone in the hotel from the pool all the way to the Asda Market :). The best night had to be the foam and pool party night drinks free all night and a dip in the pool and a dinner for £20 what more can u want lol. The food was nice especially the steak yum!! You can get either a taxi or dolmus just outside the hotel to go anywhere which was handy for people who dont know there way around. The beach is a short walk from the hotel but make sure you take loads of water with u as it gets really hot (between jun-aug). If you dont fancy staying in the hotel all the time theres loads of bars restraunts and shops around.

Stayed in Epic in 08 and had a brill time (one of the best hols ever) it was sooo good we booked to go back this year.
What happened?? Did they sack all the cleaners?? We didnt see them for the whole 2 weeks, had to ask constantly at reception for clean towels (sometimes 2 or 3 times a day and still waiting now)!
Pool staff! what pool staff? they sat around the bar all day... it was like a chore to get someone a drink!
Slide! the slide was switched on for 45 mins a day which wasnt good for the kids as this was the only thing to entertain them (no music!!!)
The restaurant! Why would you go there when the staff are rude and unwelcoming and no entertainment for the whole 2 weeks we stayed there! all staff sat around tv and watched turkish movies!
Going to Marmaris again next year but staying in Greenpark!
It couldnt be any worse than Epic...
