Our holiday was between the 6th and 21st of August and we booked it through Thomas Cook. I had viewed the negative reviews of the Epic on this site but for some reason they are not here anymore? On viewing other reviews about the Epic I tried to change before I got there but it would have been too expensive so we were stuck with it. last year we went through Jet2 and stayed at the Oasis hotel in Maramaris. It was basic but kept spotlessly clean by and old woman, the aircon was also free. My wife and I were taking our 17 year old son on his first holiday abroad with his friend. On arrival we paid the 25 pounds for each room for the air con, which is a joke when you are never there to use it. We were also tired and didn't check our room until the morning. it was supposed to have been cleaned for our arrival but there were numereous hairs from several people underneath and on the beds, dust everywhere and unexplained stains on the towels, they must wash them on 30 degrees at the most. Underneath the beds were also several sweet wrappers, I was disgusted. My wife and I went out and complained but they were adamant that it had been cleaned and said the hairs were ours, I'm bald by the way. We went to the shop and cleaned the room ourselves. After 2 days we went and asked where our change of towels were but the girl at the desk said, we only change towels and beds every 4 days. We argued until they agreed to change our towels daily. The pools were never cleaned only around the side where the loungers are and they didn't clean the pool when a little girl had diarrhea running down her leg and she jumped in without a care in the world. Luckily we had 3 days left at that point but we went down for breakfast and the milk was warm not by being heated up but by being left in the sun. We both ended up sick for the last 2 days, this place has put me off Turkey for ever, it is dirty and disgusting and Thomas Cook should be ashamed to have it as one of thier hotels. The best one yet which some of the good reviewers of the Epic will not know is that I tried both our room keys in 9 different rooms and they open every other room. I only found that out because a guy opened ours by mistake after being on the wrong floor. The only chink of light in the epic is Katie/Salem, a bubbly British woman and her Turkish husband who try to keep the guests entertained. If you get the chance, go to the Julian next door to see what you could have had. The treatments there were excellent, a bit pricey but the best. The best meal we had and probably over the 2 years was down the road from the Epic, an hotel called the Blue Dante. Dont go to Chicago on the corner, disgusting meal but the Parkhead is good as well. Madboys across from the Epic do nice cocktails and across from the Epic there is a Kebab man who is clean and does an excellent chicken wrap. The Epic is not worth the money and there are a lot better, cheaper and definately cleaner hotels in Maramaris

Just returned from holiday to Epic hotel and apts Marmaris had an absolutley fab holiday great accomodation and location staff couldnt have been more friendly and helpful towels and bedding changed all the the time pool area always clean, ideal for families with kids cant wait to book again see you all soon

This was my 3rd time at this hotel and it was just as good as the last two times, it was amazing the staff really made our holiday and i will without a doubt be going there if possile this year or next. We stayed at this hotel nearly every day and night of our two week stay we only left for boat trips and going to the waterpark, the rest of the time we didnt want to leave, even when theres nights with no entertainment the staff are always there to make sure you have a great time !
Epic Hotel is by a mile the best in Turkey !

we have just came home from 2 wks at the epic and we had a great time the room was lovely clean and was cleaned every other day, the staff could not of been any nicer i had my 3 year old boy with us and they were lovely with him, the staff around the pool were great and katie and seleen were good fun, the food around the pool and in the resturant was very good and good value for money, we never got any hassel to eat there, i would definetly go back to the epic, thanks for a great holiday, jane bob and jack,

Hi all, I was doing exactly what your doing right now and reading up on the epic hotel and apartments as thats where me and my new wife stayed in july 2010 for a week. Now yes its basic lets get that staright the rooms are ok, though you have to pay for your air conditioning its £25 for one week and they only stay on whilst your in ur room. The beds are quite hard but you get used to it, as for our stay we were pleased that the cleaners came round every day to clean and the receptionist was very good to us. The pool area is busy but good busy, its pretty big considering plus a slide and has a small one for kids. The pool bar area serves till 6 and a basic snack menu which breakfast was poor, you had olives and melon and toast.Not good but you get that everywhere. As for the dreamboys bar and restaurant situated at the front NOT GOOD, food is awful trust me dont eat there, pizzas are hard and nasty and it takes an age to get served!!!Go to amore or madboys down the road there amazing. As for the hotel its good if you want cheap!!!Have fun!!

first time to turkey and was dreading it with all the horror stories but it was nothing like i'd heard loved every minute of my stay in the epic got to be the best place, no hassle just fun fun fun! staff were brilliant cleaners were brilliant couldnt ask for a better hotel and a better holiday definately going back next year!!

me and my girlfriend went to the epic hotel on the 10th june to the 17th.2010.we had hot water only once no rubbish bin the bed sheet and pillow slips weren,t changed.we had to ask the maid for clean towels and toilet rolls.the room wasen,t cleaned till the day we were leaving.we wont go to the epic hotel ever again.

Yes it's basic but it was very clean and safer than the hotel that we had booked but asked to be moved from (Green Park).
The staff were lovely.
Marmaris is hectic and noisy and yes you can be hassled a bit but all in all we had a nice holiday in Turkey - it depends what you are looking for.

have stayed in the epic twice now and im going back this year and have already booked for next year the rooms are great and we found the staff great,very helpful and the service was great. the pool an pool bar are great every morning it was cleaned. the only bad thing i could say is you need to be up early to get a sun bed as they seem to all be away by the back of 8. and there is plenty off them. i think turkey is def value for money and the hole time we were there we never had a bad meal. great holiday cant wait to get back

Just like to say that me and my family have stayed at the epic several times and have never experienced any problems whatsoever!!!!!!! all the staff were very friendly and it is such a great place to go thats why we are going again in July. Obviously the staff can be annoying sometimes but dont u get that where ever u go? Overall dont be put off just because of a few bad reports its just that some people expect far too much. i would recommend the epic as its clean and friendly and very well situated. the food is great and i really hope ELVIS is still there as he is soooo helpfull and a great person. just remember that we are all on holiday and the staff are at work earning a living so dont be tooo hard on them. i wud deffo recommend all the trips and make sure to save money that u dont go with the reps as it works out very expensive. thanks CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE U ALL AGAIN. XX
