Montblanc Hotel

This hotel was wonderful, the rooms were great with balcony table & 2 chairs the the location was ideal. The morning breakfast was lovely, and the staff at the front desk was excellent. Ladies this is a shoe shopper heaven have fun! I did. I would return to this hotel.

We have just returned from a fantastic 4 night break at the Mont Blanc hotel in Barcelona. The hotel is situated 2mins walk from the main square Playa de Catalunya where the airport bus picks up and drops off (great value 4 euros for a 20min comfortable journey) and where the 2 tourist route buses begin their journeys. The Ramblas is less than 5 mins walk from the hotel and there are many bars, cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel. We've just returned from 5 nights in Barcelona staying at the Montblanc Hotel on Via Laietana. The positive: the hotel is in a great location, 2 minutes walk into the heart of the Gothic Quarter, Las Ramblas and Placa Catalunya. The room was clean and there was a good selection of food for breakfast every morning. The negative: on arrival we were told that there was "building work" going on in one of the hotel buildings and that our room was not ready and they could not tell us when it would be ready. We were married in Barcelona (Santa Maria del Mar) in September and had our reception in Hotel Montblanc. We had stayed there 7 months previously and they looked after us so well that we enquired about having our wedding there. They were so friendly and helpful, going way above and beyond the call of duty. We stayed there again 4 times (just to be sure about everything !!). Each time they were fabulous. Stayed at this hotel for one week with my wife and two kids. Very good central location and brilliant for the metro. I cannot fault this hotel it was spotless. The staff are very efficient and very helpfull. If you stay at this hotel you will not be disappointed !!

Just back from 5 nights at this hotel. Used Trip Advisor when booking so thought it only fair to share opinions with others. The hotel location is excellent, just 2 minutes walk from Placa Catalunya and 3 minutes from Las Rambla. Staff friendly and efficient, hotel spotless and great value in an area that felt safe and comfortable. No hesitation in recommending.

Just back from a great week in Barcelona! We stayed in the Montblanc for one week. The hotel is in a central location - we got the aerobus from the airport (as recommended on this site) for 3 euro to placa de catalunya, walked down via fontanella and turned right down via laietana - only a few doors down. It saved us forking out a 30 euro taxi fare - nice not to get ripped off for once! Stayed in the HCC Monte Blanc for 4 nights in July 2005, I stayed here with my partner and found the hotel to be just what we wanted. The rooms are of good size with A/C which is a bonus, no balcony but large window over looking one of the streets , good sized bathroom with nice power shower and complimentary tolietries, mini bar and cable TV in room, plenty of cupbard space and maid service daily. Clean, comfortable and in a great location. We didn't go for the breakfast option, as found it too expensive at 14 euros each. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our only complaint would be the slamming doors throughout the night. This was mainly due to the inconsiderate occupants of the other rooms, but it could be helped by putting a different kind of spring on the doors (maybe?). Very clean comfortable air conditioned hotel. Good size rooms. We had a triple room and it had an excercise bike and still room to spare. Terrace and small outdoor swimming pool was great for relaxing after a day being a tourist. Central location ideal for everything. Friendly staff. Good buffet breakfast. Tea making facilities in the room would have been nice, but there was a mini bar and otherwise couldn't fault it. Would definitely stay here again if in Barcelona and would recommend it to anyone.
