Shocking - stay clear! The rep was very honest with us and told us that the ratings are based on how much the hotel owner pays the people awarding the stars.
Don't think that you are better off in club room, as the only benefit is piece of carpet 2ft x 1ft and a flower in a vase.

This hotel is extremely poor. I stayed with my wife and two young children. It is 2* at best. The staff try to be nice and the food is okay, but the rooms are extremely run down, poor fittings, dusty, 1980s broken furniture, shabby curtains and bed linen etc. My advice -... more

Good Value & Near The Beach - Take it for what it is!
We stayed a week at the Royal Mirage Agadir during November, we were rather on a budget and had managed to get cheap Ryanair flights from Stansted to Agadir so researched which hotels to stay in. Although the reviews were very mixed on this hotel they seemed to be the same mixed bag for pretty much every hotel in Agadir, plus on previous trips we have realised that quite often a place can have terrible reviews on here but be absolutely fine for what we need (i.e. somewhere clean to sleep and thats about it!). By booking via hotels.com... more
Be aware of shortcomings... but if you can accept these, a good Hotel
Hotel has fantastic potential and "could" be four star, currently is it not because of poor management. The food is appalling - often luke warm, poor choices and indifferent staff. The Restaurant was dirty with curtains falling down but was improved after we spoke with the management. The bar is expensive - £9 for a beer and a water. £3.50 - £4.00 small bottle of water. Would not recommend. Rooms are basic but overall clean and beds are fine. Good balcony area. However, maintenance is very very poor with curtains hanging... more
starving in agadir
royal mirage is nice hotel, clean but the food was drastic. i eat anything but cold food!! no. the choice was abysmal. i had to ask for fruit and yoghurt. chicken and fish every day.other people who were vegetarians only got salad until complaining. the hotel is owned buy an arab which seems to select the clientel for preferential treatment. english! they can eat salads!also- there were a few women of the night arriving mid nite and being let in by keys so beware.
Travel Republic made our holiday a disappointment.
I had booked my holiday back in January 2009 for one week in Agadir in September and at the time I had booked the Sofitel Hotel in Agadir, which is a 5 star hotel, the booking was confirmed and the holiday paied. Two weeks before departing for our holiday Travel Republic contacted us and told us they made a mistake and we where not able to stay at the Sofitel Hotel and offer us a 4 star Hotel the Royal Mirage. By then we had no time to argue so we took the offer hoping we would have a nice holiday. Well the Hotel was certainly not 5 or 4... more
No problems for me anyway
On my arrival at the Royal Mirage Hotel late one evening I was greeted with two glasses of mint tea and Moroccan biscuits which gave the front of desk staff sufficient time to complete all necessary paperwork for my check-in. The Royal Mirage is listed as a 5 star hotel and is located in the Secteur Touristique on Avenue Mohammed V and also has a rear entrance leading onto Boulevard du 20 Aout from where it is easy to reach the beach by crossing one road and to restaurants nearby. The lobby area is splendid with plush furniture and... more
total waste of money
we stayed here because everywhere else was full. it was fine; if a little bit of a dilapidated princess but shockingly shockingly overpriced. the cost of this room would buy you a good room in any of the big expensive european cities with probably better facilities. i tried using the few pieces of equipment in the gym which werent visibly broken - one collapsed underneath me and when i stupidly went back for a second go on a different machine the footpiece creaked and then shot off... incredibly for the price breakfast was not... more
Great location, but ....
My friend and I stayed at the Mirage just after Christmas having booked it through lastminute.com where it was described as a 5 star. Accordingly, we took clothes suitable for a 5 star establishment - oops! We were rather overdressed!!! There was certainly no dressing for dinner. The hotel was a good 3 star by European standards (4 star by N. African standards). Very few English people there as its mainly a French all inclusive clubhotel. Being French speakers ourselves, this wasn't a problem but if you don't speak French you'll feel a bit... more
Overall good, but not a 4*
The hotel is predominantly for the French, which has it's advantages, being an all inclusive resort hotel. The primary advantage is that it isn't full of drunken Brits staggering about making a nuisance of themselves (oh, and I'm a Brit). It's quite civilised. The second advantage is that the food (though limited in variety) was consistently good. Service was good and the staff very friendly (both hotel and Marmara staff). The Hamam (I had sauna, hamam and massage) was very good. On the down side, there were peculiar rules for an... more
Beautiful hotel
Lovely facilities. Room is very cute, the material for the curtains & the bed cover is samey (could be cute or could look cheap depending on who's looking at it) -- Bathroom is very fancy. Our room had a balcony overlooking the pool area & the beach of Agadir. Fab view. It used to be the Sheraton. Used the pool. It was gorgeous, altho the water was very cold even if the weather was very hot. Restaurant is alright. Breakfast was international and was a massive buffet. Loved it, will come back again if ever we're on that side again!:)
Definately not a 5*
We stayed at the Royal Mirage in for a week in April. The hotel is no where near a 5* by English standards. 3* at the most. We were the only English couple staying at the hotel too, and the hotel staff struggle to speak alot of English. A majority of the people staying were French and all entertainment/communication was written in French. The hotel rooms do no not have double beds but the cleaners will push the single beds together on request and make the beds with bigger sheets. The cleaners do have a tendancy to just walk into your room in... more
