This was my second visit this year and I have already booked for 2 more visits next year. Excellent hotel, service fantastic, food was adequate and the snack bar provides a good selection of snacks to keep you going.
The views from the rooms are amazing. Captain Freddie made our holiday with his excellent cooking on the Sea Picnic. Came home feeling completely relaxed.

Found a little bit of paradise. Staff are wonderful and fantastically helpful. Hotel is spotless clean, and even though parts of it need upgrading slightly, this is the best holiday I have ever taken. All rooms are sea-view, so no-one misses out, and the sunsets are beautiful! I went for a weeks R+R and that’s exactly what I got.
No hassle off people like you get on the mainland - although Captain Freddie who runs the alternate sea picnic to Captain Heddy was a bit pushy, but that’s because he knows Heddy is better!! Everything is cheap, and even though it's advertised as not much to do, there is enough to fill your days if you want to do it. Fantastic place - will be going back in January, and then again, and again, and again... kind of place you fall in love with. Go - and enjoy it!

The grand hotel is fab, food wonderful, staff a1 nothing is too much trouble, best holiday I have ever had, Heddy's sea picnic was the highlight of our holiday great food lovely genuine man.
Will be going again, rooms fab, lovely shop that sells everything very reasonable lovely friendly man, first rate holiday have booked again for 2006.panarama rep Maddi so very helpful a lovely lady.

The Grand Hotel is a wonderful place to get away from it all. Rooms are spacious and all have idyllic sea views. Food is lovely and drinks are very cheap. Staff are all extremely friendly and always keen to help if needed. Excellent laundry service available. Captain Freddie’s sea picnic and sunset cruises were low cost and well worth doing. Genuinely lovely man. Will be going back next year and for years to come!

I first visited the lovely island of Kerkennah 18 years ago and it is like a magnetic such an amazing place to take a totally relaxing holiday. Actually the second time we went there was on our honeymoon, absolutely ideal place. Unfortunately 18 months ago I lost my dear husband and our friends which we met in Kerkennah rang me to say would I like to go with them back to the Grand in Kerkennah and I jumped at the idea and as a result we are going again together this year on the 17th May.
These are friends that we met at the Grand 9 years ago. There must be something in the air that attracts so many people to return year after year.
I wish to reiterate the comments I have just read regarding the Grand Hotel in Kerkennah and have to agree totally 110%. Such a lovely place to relax and make friends that you meet year after year. On Wednesday 17th May 2006 I am meeting up with friends that I have met at the Grand Hotel Kerkennah 9 years ago and can't wait, you feel safe there and as a lady going on her own I have no qualms at all staying at The Grand Hotel, it is like going home as the people as so friendly and make you feel so welcome as they greet you with a welcome drink immediately you arrive. Go for it you wont regret it. I feel sure you will soon get hooked, I know I have.
