The hotel was in an excellent position for most of the things in altinkum. The staff (most of them) were really friendly, the pool area was excellent, BUT the cleaning left a lot to be desired. There were NO clean towels in two weeks. they were left over the balcony to be aired. We had problems with noisy people and were moved to another room, I moved the pillow to put a towel undereneath to make it higher and on the under side of the pillow there was lipstick on the pillowcase, this was a room for new people. The sheets were only changed with alot of shouting to the management.

the hotel itself wasnt nice, it badly needed updated, the rooms are very basic and not very clean, the sheets are gray, and we didnt get clean towels all week, luckily we took are own, would i stay there again no but the staff were brilliant, and the pool was really clean and good, if they just cleaned the rooms properly and updated it it would be a great place to stay.

I know peoples perceptions of hotels differ greatly.. but my partner and I stayed at the Dolphin for a week and were very disappointed. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant, and the location is fantastic but thats where my compliments must end...
Our room was by no means clean and was not properly cleaned in the week we stayed (we left a dead mosquito on the floor to see how long it would stay there, it was there for 3 days).
There was no choice offered for food, so it was either take it or leave it, unfortunately on several occasions we left it and had to find a restaurant in the town to eat.
The reception/bar/lounge area, although displaying several no smoking signs had a permanent blue haze of smoke. my partner is just recovering from a serious illness and the 1 time we did sit in this area she quickly felt unwell, so we couldn't even enjoy a drink in the hotel bar.
I would thoroughly recommend Turkey and in particular Altinkum and will be returning next year, but I'm afraid not to the Dolphin...

Upon arrival we were shown to our room which all I can describe was like a prison cell with only a small window which didnt open. Needless to say I complained and was told that we would be moved in 2 days which again I objected to. That night we were moved into another room which had no air conditioning so we had to keep the door open all night so we got bitten very badly by the mossies! Unless I had asked the room would not have been cleaned and no towels changed. This was done every other day but only when I asked. The pool area was probably the best thing about the hotel and the two lads that worked behind the bar Boris and Ebor were fantastic. They had a kareoke on the Sunday night which was a giggle especially Gerrards terrible singing which has to be heard to be believed. I know it is a budget hotel however I have stayed in other 2 star hotels and they were a thousand times better than the Dolphin. I will never be going back there again and other people staying there have said the same.

It was a good hotel, the staff were friendly. The rooms were cleaned out daily.
The pool was in a good condition. And there is also a cafe bar.
I dont think i would ever bring young children to this hotel as the nightlife outside doesnt stop till about 5 am in the morning so it is quite hard to get to sleep unless your a deep sleeper!
The food was excellent in the cafe bar, they had a large variety from pizza's to salads and burgers.
I was self catering so i cant really comment on the breakfast or dinners but i heard from other people that they find the food good.
The travel rep's were also excellent, very helpful as they can organise and trips you want to go on!
If you stay in this hotel or in the Altinkum area be sure to check out the damla restraunt (if its still about that is)!

This is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in, in Turkey. I would definitely recommend it to everyone. This is the second time that I have stayed at the hotel and I will be going back next year!
The staff are very friendly and welcoming, Gerard keeps everyone entertained with his singing skill or should I say lack of skill! Tommy and Mehmet are brilliant chefs - the food is great.
I would recommend the hotel to everyone. It is clean and rooms are kept clean by the cleaner. Throughout your holiday towels are changed regularly and bedding is changed often as well. Lovely place overall! Can’t wait to see everyone again.

Really nice place. The hotel staff were friendly & helpful. The pool was brilliant and the weather was amazing!
Would defiantly go back there again. Everyone’s so friendly. If you go there make sure you go to a restaurant called the Damla was brilliant.
Oh and if you want to go clubbing the best places are the galaxy & seal. But the seals not a good place 2 get drunk in.
Can’t wait to go back there again next year, would defiantly go back to the dolphin hotel! The rooms a bit small but your only there to sleep, so who cares!

Well for a start i wouldn't even give it 1 out of 10 because it was the worst hotel i have ever stayed in.
The staff working there were ignorant. When i got to my room there was only half a window in the door as it was smashed. We couldn't even get onto the balcony as the door wouldn't open and the wood on the wall behind the beds was coming off the wall.
The maids never cleaned the rooms so we never got clean towels or bedding but they still expected a tip at the end of our stay! The towel was covered in dead ants and so was the room. The pool was dirty we never even saw it getting cleaned in the two weeks we stayed there. Most of the sunbeds were broken and had no mats on and everything was just broken. When we told the rep about the rooms she said it would be ok. The food they served wasn't fit for a pig to eat , it was horrible so even though we were half board we had to eat out every night. The outside bar was closed every night and the shower wasn't safe as it was just a hole in the floor with no mats or anything to stand on, so don't slip
It was just the worst hotel i have seen!

This is the first time we have been to Turkey; the appearance of the hotel was our first disappointment, not at all like the brochure. It needed a good clean. I arrived at 3.30am, hoping for a few hours sleep, only to be kept awake by people sat on seats under our bedroom window talking to 5am, so we could not open the windows.
Shower /toilet space is very small and restricted. The room was not very clean and not up to the standard we were expecting. Luckily we have family living in Altinkum who were able to put us up.
Arriving back at the hotel for the pick up transfer to the airport, all the customers where complaining about the hotel.

Just back from The Dolphin and very pleased to leave. Although the staff were smiley - it would have been better if the didn't sit around chatting all the time and actually did some cleaning and repairing. No knobs on the wardrobes & chests, broken miirrors, make up on the pillows, hard grey sheets and bedcovers, bedrooms and bathrooms dirty, even the toilet brush was filthy and worn out. Didn't even bother with "breakfast" after the first day. No details of any trips/ markets etc. Pool was nice, but broken sun loungers and inspection chamber lid left up all the time made it a bit of a safety hazard.
