Staying at the Europa Hotel in Barbados was excellent. We are writing about the problems we met when booking through HotelClub.com On arriving at the hotel we were shocked to be informed that HotelClub had cancelled our booking one month before and subsequently had debited... more

A chilled out resort
We have recently returned from Barbados. We stayed here for 10 days. It was a very chilled out, relaxed resort, nothing was too much of a problem for the staff, very friendly, helpful. Rooms were great, very clean and simple. A 5 minute walk from the mall and 10 mins to supermarket which was great to be away from it all. Whilst you are here get on a boogie (yellow) bus and go up to John Moore Bar just before Mullins Bay and watch sundown, absolute paradise. I would return time and time again.
barbados paradise
have stayed here 6 times and always have a great time, the staff at reception , angie and cheryl will always help you with any requests and the cleaners are round every day without fail. the grounds and pool are kept in tip top condition by oddy lynch, and dennis the maintenance man can fix just about anything. after the bar has closed, and you sit on the verandah, having another rum , the security guard robert will be on patrol and will stop to have a little chat. ideally situated on the west coast, not far from abig supermarket, where you can buy everything you need, and if you dont want to cook, there is always the hotel restaurant. you cant lose here, everyone we meet has been before, go on grab a bargain, you wont regret it. ,
Return Visit to Europa
We were in Barbados at Easter, and enjoyed it so much we returned in August. We do Barbados on a budget, so booked the flights with Virgin and hotel direct. We had a hire car for the whole time we were there, and drove ourselves to and from the airport. They drive on the same side of the road, so its easy, and most drivers are far more courteous than we are in the UK!!! The Europa was great, laid back and friendly. The rooms had been refurbished and were very clean and comfortable. There were a group of 17/18 year old lads on a rugby tour, but they were great, no problems atall, they just had a laugh in the pool, but were absolutely no problem (as mentioned in another review) maybe we were lucky and got a good bunch! We went horserding and Steve Downie does 2 hours for $60US if you book direct, well worth the money and we even got a nice cold drink on the beach thrown in :O) Let us know if you want contact details, happy to pass them on. I think we should get a holiday in Barbados twice a year on the NHS, save a fortune in stress related treatments,, you come back feeling very chilled and relaxed, ready to face the next 6 months! We hope to return at Easter (Christmas if the bank manger allows :O) and would definitely stay at the Europa again (unless of course we win lottery , then it might be Sandy Lane!) Anyway, we are old timers now this being our third trip to Barbados, so if any one wants any info on the Island, happy to help if we can. In summary, its not expensive to eat and drink, people are friendly and helpful, its as safe as anywhere (probably safer than many UK places these days!), so go stay there and chill out.
perfect, affordable vacation in Barbados
My husband & I have been going to Barbados for the last 7 years. Six of those we have stayed at Europa Hotel, St. James Parish. We absolutely love it. Large one bedroom apartments with fully equiped kitchens. Apts. surround a courtyard & swimming pool. Each apt. has its own patio, with roof for enjoying the gentle rains. Everything is one level, walk straight out onto the property. It is only a 10 min. walk to shopping or to the beach. Europa is under new ownership & they (Soni) are making lots of improvments to the units. This is not a 5 star, dress- up resort, but if you are looking for a relaxed meet the people vacation, this is it. Lots of beautiful bars & restaurants nearby. People we have met at Europa have been staying there 20 years & more and we hope to add our names to that list.
Home Away from Home
My wife and I have stayed at Europa Resort many times and have always enjoyed our stay. The establishment has recently changed ownership/management and upgrades are underway such as new furnishings etc. We were able to see a completed unit prior to leaving in March of this year...... Wow ! Each year we look forward to meeting our friends who, like ourselves keep returning year after year. We have always found the staff to be most helpful and always friendly. In closing I would like to add that Soni (the new owner/manager) goes out of her way to make the stay a pleasant one even accepting "hints" from guests and implementing if possible. We have rebooked again for 2008 (six weeks) and are very much looking forward to returning to "our home away from home" B & B Canada
will return
We have been visiting Europa for many years. It's great for those not requiring the luxury of an all-inclusive resort. In the past year the new owners have refurnished all the units. What we like about Europa is, the staff are always polite and helpful, the grounds are spacious and well kept, the pool is well kept and lots of free chaise lounges, it is quiet at night for sleeping ( no street noise ), and you are within walking distance of many restaurants. It's a ten minute walk to the beach, where you can swin with the rich and famous at Sandy Lane Beach, snorkel at a reef or just use one of the other beaches to gather the rays, since all beaches are public. The grounds
PARADISE
BARBADOS--ALL SEASONS RESORT EUROPA -A Great place to stay.Have stayed at this hotel for the past 22 years. The last 15 years we have stayed for 2 months We have a pool with a bar and restaurant on lovely spacious grounds. The units are all one bedroom apartments on ground level with our own balcony and tastefully decorated. It is a very friendly atmosphere and a great opportunity to meet a lot of new friends. The beach is a 5 minute walk across the road. A ten minute walk brings you to a shopping mall with a huge super center grocery store, and many other small shops. Along the way to the shopping mall are chattel house boutiques. and a number of banks and fine restaurants. The hotel affords you the opportunity to rest and relax without leaving the complex if you so wish. If you are considering coming to Barbados look up All Seasons Resort Europa and plan on staying here. You will thoroughly enjoy it and will have a great vacation.
US$177 motel room
We booked this hotel 6 months ago for the Cricket world Cup at a time when hotel rooms were scarce. We were expecting a hotel and were quite taken aback to find ourselves in a run down self catering little bungalow which to our horror also required tokens to operate the air-con. The new manager Soni is lovely and took the time to hear my comments. She said that she had just taken over ownership of the resort and was in the process of renovating the rooms. The prices were doubled because of the world cup, otherwise it would've been better. I ordered a birthday cake for my husband which she gave as a gift so that was rather nice.
Fantastic Resort
We went to Europa in Sunset Crest, Holetown, for our honeymoon. What a fantastic place! We'd been here before, and would recommend it to everyone. Yes, it is basic accommodation compared to the luxury hotels around the island, but it is extremely clean and all of the staff are very friendly. It has a lovely pool, nice sunloungers, bar with a happy hour and great food all afternoon and evening (but it is not advertised very well). There is a lot of greenery compared to other hotels, so I guess that it would be great for families. It is a ten minute walk to the beach and restaurants and small shops. I would recommend going to Surfside on the beach for the sunset, Cocomos for lunch/dinner, The Coach House for lunch, the Fisherman's pub in Speightstown for lunch/dinner and their show on Wednesday evening. Pizzaz is also great if you want something tasty and quick. We prefer staying at Europa than any of the other places - further away from other hotels, plenty of room at the pool (other hotels have sunloungers squeezed in) and it makes you more adventurous - tried out so many more places! It is further away from the beach than other hotels, but all beaches are public, so you can go to any beach on the island, you just can't use their sunloungers.
Excellent location
This is a truue ely excellent location if you want to stay on the Caribean side of the island. Although the accommodation is basic it is extreemly clean, with excellent maid service daily all who are very friendly and helpful. The accommodation is spacious with large loung, and bedroom with kitchen and bathroom, if you are lucky enough to get one of the villas around the pool they are really spacious. They are like little bungalows in a lawned area, situated round the pool . Ther is a little shop and bar serving meals all day from around 9- 9.30am full breakfasts, lunches and snacks and Dinner in the evening. The entertainment we found to be quite poor but walked into Holetown which is just 10 mins stroll away, and so is the beautiful beach, long stretches of white sand and clear blsea well worth a visit. Lots of places to eat from your basic pizza places to upmarket resturants.
