The Grot

This hotel can only be described as, a filthy grotty place.with unpleasent rude and up them selves staff. the room was very dirty, shower was mouldy and only 18 by 24 inches in size ,with cold water only, the sheet never got changed all the time we were which was 11 days. we had to put the towels by the shower to stop the water from going in to the sleeping area. the outside balcony rail gave way. our outlook was to two stinking 50 gallon drums of stagnent water, a compost heap and aso called allotment which was sweet corn which stood nearly 10 feet high. the pool was murky with grease floating on the top. the sunbeds were filthy dirty ripped and broken. we would not go back to this hotel if you paid us and would not recomend this hotel to any one even if on a low budget, as staying here would ruin your time in turkey.

We have just returned from a two week stay at this hotel. The hotel staff all work very hard to make your stay as comfortable as possible this leads to a great atmosphere amongst the guests. One or two may be unhappy but then again they would probably kick up a fuss wherever they would stay. The hotel is in a good location near the town and there are lots of good restaurants nearby although the food in the hotel is also very nice. Yes, you will get meals and drink a little cheaper if you go searching but if you travel you will know that hotel prices are generally more expensive. Yes there are notices about taking food into the hotel but we understand that most hotels in Turkey have this ruling but there is no security guard searching your bags. The rooms are ok,the pool and bar area is fine, some of the sunbeds are needing to be replaced but if people were not obsessed about leaving towels on them when they go out for the day others would be able to use them.If returning to this area we would go back to the Saray we had a great holiday and met some wonderful people.

Stayed at the Saray for 2 weeks in July 2011. Staff not helpful at all. Cleaning of room means they empty your bin daily. Towels only get changed every 3 days not very good if you want to wash your hair. The location is very good enjoyed the holiday and would go back to the area shame about the hotel it could be really good!

The Saray was really lovely. The rooms were cleaned out every day by the maids who were always friendly and welcoming. The staff were also lovely, and Michael likes to make himself known!! The Turkish night on the Wednesday was absolutely brilliant, I would really recommend attending, and it is reasonably priced. The breakfasts were good by Turkish standards but not to my taste so on the last day I found myself going to a local restaurant for breakfast instead. The hotel is in a perfect location for access to both Hisaronu and the dolmuses, the local buses, to get to Fethiye and Olu Deniz. The hotel also has a friendly atmostphere within all the guests so it is very easy to make friends there

  • Advice: See your travel rep and book some tours to really be able to see the local area

I stayed at the Saray Hotel in Hisaronu from 23.05.11 to 06.06.11 with my 26 year old daughter and 3 year old grandson. I can honestly say it was a lovely place to stay and I will definitely be going back. the reviews on here had me very sceptical but I went ahead because it was a bargain deal.
I was very pleasantly surprised. Rooms are very clean. Food was good (if a little more expensive than outside). The sunday dinner I can honestly say was better than my own and my daughter agreed!! Just fab!! The only thing i think this place needs is some area for the little ones to play, perhaps toys and TV with dvds playing all day long! the pool was lovley and clean but the sun lounger pads in need of renewal for defo.
I prefer 4 - 5 star hotels AI but on a budget you really can't beat this place. And its central to all the busy bars and restaurants.
I've been going to Olu Denis with my family on and off for 16 years and this hotel is definitely on my list for next time.

I have just returned from a two week stay at the Saray and I cannot begin to tell you what a fabulous time I had there. It was by far the best holiday I have ever been on. I stayed there with two of my close friends who stayed there for one week last year. So it just goes to show that they really enjoyed there stay there at the Saray or they would not have returned this year for two weeks. We found all the staff to be helpful and friendly especially Michael who was funny and entertaining all the time. I cannot wait to return there next year for two weeks and I would recommend the Saray to anyone.

Just spent a great week at The Saray with friends. It is positioned perfectly for the village life up the road.
All the staff are extremely friendly and will always put themselves out to help you. Mustafa in particular is very helpful and always cheerful and arranged a few trips and transport for us, including a birthday cake for my birthday. Michael, well what can I say, International Superstar. If you haven't got a sense of humour best try somwhere else.
My room was clean and tidy and was cleaned every day.If I wanted something luxurious I would have gone to a 5 star hotel. The breakfast, well, the breakfast was 'Turkish' and enjoyed every morning.
Poolside was great, a bigger pool than most hotels and clean and tidy, could do with a few more sun umbrellas though. What I did like pool side during the day was that there was no loud music to spoil the relaxation, when I wanted to listen to music, I used my IPod. Around the pool we regularly talked to people we had never met, but seemed to have known for years.
The bar prices and snacks were resonably priced and made use of. Oh and don't forget Hector, the loveable, happy pampered, hotel dog always there for a cuddle.
See you next year Saray.

Great Holiday!!!

We are going to Hotel Saray now for 7 years and it is like coming home from home. I don't like how people talking bad about the hotel and when they saying how bad is the hotel not even say their name on the review!! Cowards all!! The Hotel is clean and the staff does everything to make you feel happy, they can do not more. If you have a problem they solve it!! The maids are good and very clean. We never had a dirty room or bed! If you think its dirty go in an all inclusive 5* hotel!!!
I am still going back.

*Stay Well Away from the Dirty Saray*
1 / 10
Sep 2010, duckster

Myself and my wife stayed at the saray in sept 2010, what a horrible, dirty hotel.
we booked half board with thomsons.on arrival at reception we were made to feel very unwelcome by the most rude unhelpful staff.they showed us to our room which was very dirty. our first evening we went to the pool bar for our meal we choose steak only to be told it would be 7lira extra to eat red meat,we were not told this when booking.we woke the next morning and both felt extremely unwell we blamed it on our evening meal( we never ate at the saray again).
our room was not cleaned very well for our whole stay (10 days) the pool area was also very unclean and the sunbeds should all be burned and replaced. the paths and walk ways are not lit at night so if mad enough to stay please be carefull. also the prices are so high its 10 lira for a full english but only 5 lira in town. we noticed the breakfast one morning when leaving early for an excursion it was very basic, big bowls of jam and honey with flies all over them and only a 2 slice household toaster for the whole hotel to use. very very basic how this hotel has 3 stars I dont know, based on our stay it would struggle to get 1 star from us.

  • Advice: hisaronu is very quite. grate food and markets

Myself and my family returned on Friday 10th Sept 2010 and could not of come a day sooner. The first room we were put in was 107, mould was 2 feet high on shower curtain and tiles. Room had not been cleaned, no self-catering facilities and room was VERY DIRTY.immediately asked to be moved.
With great reluctance we were moved to room 702 ground floor room, still very dirty, dark as there was a brick wall outside the window (see photo) shower curtain blood stained, bed settee smelt of mould, shower floor was covered in hair, toilet smelt of urine, no self catering facilities. Still VERY DIRTY!
The hotel had no atmosphere as there is NO MUSIC at all around the pool during the day. The pool area is also very dirty not cleaned at all while we were there, we saw the hotel dog wee up one of the sun beds! No entertainment on an evening! The staff are rude, miserable and unhelpful.
Micheal was annoying and a creep to any woman! Mustafa rude and very unhelpful!
Please, Please,Please see our attached photos for a true refection of the Saray Hotel. Photos do NOT LIE!
