We have just returned from a two week holiday from hell, we are a family of 5 with three children aged 3,4 and 9, we have been to hisaronu 6 times before but like to stop at differant hotels each time,(we wish we hadn't this time).we went away with another adult who had their own room.
When arriveing after a night flight there was an old women who greeted us and asked us to wait at the bar as noone was awake to check us in, after around 15 minuites someone came with a bunch of keys and took some of our cases and asked us to follow them, we only took about 20 steps when both men stopped and started talking about which rooms to put us in, eventually they told us our family room that we booked was occupied so they were going to put us in a 3 bed room for 5 of us, as you can guess we wernt happy, once in the room they told us that we had to wait 3.5 hours so they could kick the people out of our room but they had been in there 4 days. The room they gave us to wait in looked like it hadnt been cleaned in a very long time, dead mosquetos evrywhere in piles on the floor and so many live ones i was bitten within 5 minuites(i dont normaly get bitten).
when we were eventually given our family room we thought that would be the end of the trouble, how wrong were we, every day a sewer smell came from the shower but it got worse at night.
The small pool had a small slide next to it and each day we told our children not to go on it and moved it out of the way, but it was always put back there whenever we left the pool area, one day it was put back and my 3 year old went up the steps and fell of before we had chance to grab him, he landed on his head and had a big lump there straight away. The staff didnt even flinch when this happened.
There is also about 4-5 meters from the little pool a drop of about 12 foot with no railings, so was very dangerous, to the left of the drop there was a seesaw that had a handle missing and right by that the old windows were on the floor with broken glass.( this was all in a space of 5 meters from the little pool.
At night the music was so loud it kept us awake, this was normally on untill 4am, so no good if you want some sleep.
The other adult that went with us didnt have much luck with his room either, he was put in a room wth no flush on the toilet and the toilet leaked over the floor, the shower curtain was so dirty it had mould all over it, he got changed into another room when we got our family room.
I would not advise anyone to book to stay in this hotel, i have been to a few 2* hotels in hisaronu so i thought i new what to expect, this may have been a 2* around 10 years ago but now its not.
I have to say though that the maids tryed there best to keep the rooms as clean as they could.

Just returned form our first visit to Hisaronu and the Ciftlik - the staff could not have been more helpful- Craig(manager), Ashim (the watch man) & 'Chocolate' (son!), the breakfast was plentiful, the rooms spotless and airy. Admittedly the grounds could do with a little attention but the pool was cleaned daily. The hotel is well placed. We may well break the habit of a lifetime and actually return next year!!

My Family and I stayed at the Ciftlik Hotel from the 10th of July 2009 for 2 weeks. In our honest opinion this place was perfect for our needs, definately 10 out of 10 and a real family atmosphere. The staff were excellent and professional and were friendly from the outset. Upon arrival at 4pm we were met by Taz and his staff who showed us to our family room (number 13!!) which was basic but above all spotlessly clean. It had a fridge and air conditioning and a very pleasant view over the pool and further to Hisaronu.
The bathroom was also clean with a powerful shower and constant hot water.
Within 10 minutes of our arrival we were in the pool, again very clean and clear with no debris etc. We were soon to learn that the pool is cleaned daily and fresh water added. The staff take an active interest in your enjoyment and will participate in games etc. Be prepared to get spashed occasionally if near the pool and thanks to Craig (British staff member) you will be cooled down with welcome but occasional jugs of water over you wether required or not.
Other facilities include a pool table and table tennis in the gardens.
We ate in at the Hotel most evenings as the was little need to go out to a restaurant due to the fact that the standard of food was very good (try the steaks or seafood pancake!) also the cost was very reasonable with us spending about 100 lira including drinks for a family of 5. The chef (Happy/Mutlu) took an active interest when we were ordering to ensure our meals were exactly what we wanted. Craig was also a huge help in translating any difficult requests into Turkish. Every Wednesday there is an all you can eat BBQ night for 15 Lira per person, this was a massive success and the food was perfectly cooked. Afterwards there was a show in the bar area including Belly Dancing etc.
The breakfast was your standard Turkish breakfast, and very nice. It was also possible to order a full english if required.
The bar was very reasonably priced with all manner of cocktails produced by Max and Erhan. Just dont ask Craig to make a Mojito!! :)
Altogether a very enjoyable holiday in a great place. We met some very nice people during our stay, most of which were returning customers from previous years as an example of how much people enjoy this hotel. On the last day my youngest son became ill due to the heat and fainted in the room and required emergency treatment, Ive got to hand it to the staff, they were brilliant. Special thanks to Hussain the manager who helped get my son into his car and to the hospial within a matter of minutes. He also stayed with us in the hospital and shared our concern. He is a nice man and was there for us.
My son made a full recovery before we left and is fine. Upon leaving the hotel all the staff came too see us off and insisted on carrying our bags to the coach, there were hugs all round and some tears (Eyhan...)
We do plan to go back to this hotel in 2010 and spend another relaxing 2 weeks here.
Thanks from
John, Cathy, John-Allan, Liam and Becky

We have been visiting Turkey for 6 years now and every year we have stayed at the Cliflik Hotel but we will not be returning to this hotel this year as we had such a bad time last year! The service has got worse and worse each year and it is as if the more you go the more Taz thinks he can get away with and he just thinks oooo they wont be bothered i know them well no thats wrong we will be bothered considering we book the hotel a year in advance and after a long flight we arrive and get told our booking has been mixed up it is unacceptable last year we arrived and they took us to our room and when the door was opened there were people in there the staff laughed and said sorry wrong room then took us to another room and put our bags in i opened the wardrobe and peoples clothes were there the staff said these people are visiting family stay here tonight and we can move you in the morning after arguing and threatening to find another hotel they finially agreed to move us at 11pm having arrived at 14.15 this was appauling! We went back at 11pm and they were still adament that we could not move after another hour of arguing they finially gave in and put us in the room we boooked! The holiday got worse we went to use the pool and it is cloudy and dirty around the side area and when you try an relax you get water thrown on you or the staff try and push you in the pool it is not nice when you just want to sun bathe and read a book! After 3 days of the pool still being dirty we decided to visit another hotel and use there pool the staff were 100% everything was clean and we could finially relax. We were annoyed as we had to go to another hotel to use the pool but if we didnt we wouldnt of found a much nicer hotel which we will be visiting this year. The room at ciflik is basic but you get what you pay for personally i think it is over priced and each year Taz says he will give discount but he just adds money on? The staff always question where you are going and if you dont drink or eat at the hotel it is the end of the world and they go in a mood with you? Pathetic considering the food isnt up to scratch as the chef was treated so bad and didnt get paid that he was forced to leave. I would definetly not reccommend taking children to this hotel and there are too many staff memebers running about and they could easily get hurt. I would not reccommend this hotel to any of my friends and family and i will never return here.

we were recommended the Ciftlik hotel by friends who had previously stayed there. DO NOT GO....if you are not part of the 'in' crowd you will hate it. - I had read tons of reviews where everyone loved it and kept returning....that's how you get 'in'.....by returning year after year.
Being constantly thrown in the pool, fully dressed is fun, for a while...eventually it becomes tedious.
The rooms are very basic (as with most Turkey hotels) but our toilet dripped and no one fixed it after many requests......if you shower you will flood your bathroom....our towels were not changed for days and began to smell.
The owner of the hotel Taz, is fun at first, but his constant mickey taking is annoying, he always know's where you have been, who you have spoken too and what you have been doing. The staff and Taz do not like it if you do not drink at the bar at the hotel.....unless you go to Atlantis (Taz's nightclub in Hisaronu) An incredibly overpriced jumped up bad nightclub.
i would have recommended this hotel for families, as it would not suit groups of young people because of the constant ****ing from staff and guests....this would not affect a family...but be warned, the staff carry guns....and are not particularly discreet about it!

i have been to hisaronu before, and the hotel i would have like to have stayed at was fully booked.
so we were searching for somewhere else to stay, the last place available was ciftlik hotel!
after reading the reveiws on here i was optimistic, only to be greated by rowdy drunk people and the staff not knowing where our room was. im not sure if they even knew we were coming!
as soon as we got into our room, sat on the bed with a bad first impression,
suddenly a member of staff bursts into the room, to then say 'sorry!' then walk out again, because they couldnt find my mum and her partner a room, and i think they were looking for one!
after about an hour of getting changed and settled in, i decided to get rid of my first impression and have a good time!
we went into town and i saw some old friends.
the rooms were basic, but handy, if like me, you dont spend much time in there anyway,
the shower wasnt always warm and the floors would get flooded. but the cleaners would change towels etc every day and clean up and even fold your clothes!
we stayed b+b, but there was only bread, eggs, jam and butter available!
they had a BBQ on one night which was great, really nice atmosphere with candles and music and great food!
some of the staff would not listen to you when you were not in the mood to be chucked in the pool!
im not really that stubborn, but i am self concious and was wearing clothes - white top in particular, when i was forced into the pool! i was not happy! haha.
wasnt really much entertainment, but we did get into club atlantis for free, because Taz, the owner of the hotel, also owns this club, and lets anyone staying at ciftlik go in for free.
the staff were friendly after getting to know them a bit.
the people that were mainly at this hotel were 18-30.
which is fine if you're with friends and stuff, but i was with my family.
apart from the BBQ night, we ate out every night, and at some places where i knew people.
also the hotel is literally feet away from the town center, where the barriers are which block off town after 7 so you can walk around.
very close to one of the pepinos which is a great place.
a good place to eat is at the other pepinos more into town, or el nino's or the white man.
zombie is a good club. hisaronu is great!
im not sure if i would go back to this hotel.
doesnt mean it's awful or anything, it just wasnt for me really. especially after having a great experience in hisaronu the year before.
dont let this review put you off, hisaronu is an amazing place with great weather, people, mountain backdrop, bars, restaurants. clubs. but is also very peaceful,
especially in the morning when the sun is rising.
theres nothing like it, and when you go into town on an evening an the sun is setting, and the atmosphere is really coming to life. i think this town is great for people of all ages!
also, i payed nearly £100 more to stay at this hotel, then did to stay at a 3star hotel last year, for longer aswell. 11 nights.
where as this year at ciftlik, i only stayed a week.
i definatly do not think this hotel is 10/10 though.

What can I say, we had a great 2 weeks at the Ciftlik, rooms were cleaned everyday, linen changed regular, staff were very good and always there when needed, hello to Mehmet, Neazi, George, Ahmed, and especially Taz and family, Taz..your a big man with a great sense of humour and fun, good food assured, Great value BQ night and Belly Dancer...all you could eat and all for £10....cant understand why some people go to Turkey expecting Top class accomodation, when it is not 5 star, but hey, the people around you more than make up for any stuck up view some people have, we have been to Turkey many times and are going again for 2 weeks in September...Cya soon Taz....We hope to see your son on his motorbike, I bet hes got lots better at driving...all in all a great hotel and good people....go with a laid back attitude and im sure all will enjoy there stay....

We read all the reviews we could find before booking and were very optimistic - only to be disappointed. Yes the hotel has a fun atmosphere and the staff are great for that. I must say Craig is great and is doing his very best to fight the losing battle.
The rooms were shabby and in dire need of an upgrade (ours had a plug socket hanging off the wall showing wires and we had a 12 month boy crawling around). We had a 2 bedroomed family room but only one room had air conditioning - the boys baked! The shower dribbled from three spots. And if you need a cot take a travel cot. The cot we were provided with was not safe for any baby. I wont go into the fiasco we had with cots!!!
The pool area is ok and the staff were happy to find extra parasols and sunbeds when needed. However, the baby pool had tiles missing from around the edge and lose slabs had been placed over the gaps - ideal for tripping over!
I believe the hotel had a chef last year but doesn't now - the food, in our opinion, was not good. We found food and drink all over Hisaronu to be a lot more expensive than it was when we last went and the Ciftlik prices were no lower for guests.
Saying all that, we had a great crowd to share our holiday with (Hi Sue, Dave, Alycia, Barbara, Robert, Steph, Ellen, and all the rest) and we had a good laugh at Fawlty Towers!
Oh and the best place we found to eat was Dantes. Reasonably priced, fantastic food and lovely staff.

Just returned form another fantastic holiday at the Ciftlik, we have been holidaying at the Ciftlik for the past 10 years and we never tire of it.
The staff are some of the best you can get and the new addition Craig made my holiday and as usual we had a fantastic send off when we left.
With the Ciftlik you usually find most of the holiday makers are regulars who return year after year, what does that tell you?
The rooms are basic but you only need to shower, change and sleep in them, but be prepared to get wet, very wet! I spent most of my 2 weeks in the pool and not by choice, and if you hang on to the sunbed thinking your safe that goes in also, but don't worry if you’re not up to being thrown in, just let the staff know and they will leave you,
At the Ciftlik the staff really know how to look after you. The cleaners are lovely and they make love hearts with the towels and leave them on your bed with a few petals; a romantic touch. The staff are willing to do anything to make your holiday an enjoyable one.

Me and a friend stayed at the Ciftlik hotel for a week and hated every minute of it.
We arrived after a full day of travelling to be put into one of the staff's houses in a bedroom upstairs. We had no lock on the door and no bathroom as the one upstairs next to our room was untidy, the toilet didn't work and was covered with the persons dirty washing on the floor.
We had no explanation that this was not our hotel room until we went downstairs to the find a member of staff and asked them. Even then they kept laughing at us when we asked and pretended they could not speak English very well (to find out during the week they spoke English perfectly).
Another member of staff came over and explained that we would be put into our proper hotel room the following morning.
Whenever we left the hotel the staff continuously asked us where we were going and did not leave us alone. As two young girls on holiday in Turkey we knew what to expect from some of the Turkish men, however the staff at the hotel felt fine to look us up and down, tell us they were talking about us to each other in Turkish (so we couldn't understand) and follow us to restaurants and bars after we left the hotel.
Not to mention one of the nights we were followed to our room by Chocolate who spent the week telling us he wanted to have sexwith us and who then tried to come in when we told him to go away. There was another night when we were followed from the bar to our room (as we had to pass the bar on the way to our building) however when we asked who it was following us they hid. Thankfully this was our last night of our holiday so it didn't happen again.
We chose not to eat from the hotels restaurant as we continuously saw the chef picking his nose, eating it, then touching the food he was about to serve.
Our room was cleaned once throughout the full week. When it wasn't being cleaned the cleaner came into our room and took only our towels to be cleaned, which then weren't replaced, and told the staff we had taken them who then tried to charge us for them.
Throughout the week every member of staff did nothing but make us feel uncomfortable, apart from one (half Russian/Turkish guy, cant remember name).
There was also another couple who arrived at the Ciftlik a day after us and had exactly the same problems. They were put into a bedroom in a member of staffs house rather a room and weren't treated nicely from the staff.
We also heard that the hotel staff filmed pornographyin and around the pool area during the early hours of the morning. We came in at around 6 in the morning once through the week and looked out of our balcony window to see a small group of women and men on the sunbeds, using the parasols to hide themselves from people in the hotel.
Please do not chose to stay at the Ciftlik hotel as Hisaronu was an excellent holiday however ours was ruined due to the hotel.
If you're not in the 'in' crowd, which we weren't because we chose not to flirt or have sexwith the staff, they make no attempt to make your holiday enjoyable.
