" Our second home "

Just returned from yet another wonderful stay at the Pine Valley. In our opinion it is without doubt the best Hotel in the area. The reception staff are efficient helpful and friendly and speak excellent English. The standard if cleanliness is absolutely first class. The rooms, the pool area, the bars, the dining room, the paths around the property, everywhere is absolutely spotless, and the gardeners can be very proud of the beautiful gardens and flowers. The rooms are small but have everything you need including modern air conditioning and there is always hot water(a rarity in some Turkish Hotels)The food is plentiful and fresh.Breakfast has something for every taste including a full English as an extra and the coffee is really nice. The evening meals are varied and the choice of salads is just amazing. They do a really good deal and excellent value for money on the Half board upgrade and the a la carte option on several nights a week cannot be bettered by any restaurant in the village. The Turkish night and the Barbeque night every week are held round the pool in season and are fantastic with an amazing buffet and great entertainment. The entertainment staff and the waiters are the icing on the cake. They are a wonderful bunch of lads who work very hard to make sure everyone has a fabulous holiday. They treat everyone from babies to pensioners with respect and kindness and always have time for a chat or a joke. They seem to have an inbuilt intuition as to who wants peace and quiet and who likes a bit of banter. The Hotel is well designed in that the rooms are not grouped around the entertainment area or the pool so there is minimum noise from the entertainment at night. There is a beautiful Turkish bath on the property which is a great way to start your holiday and the staff are lovely. The Hotel also benefits from its ideal position just far enough from the village not to be bothered by noise but close enough for a nice stroll in the evening(5 minutes). There is even a fantastic hairdresser called Nico just outside the Hotel entrance.Shops, bars, restaurants markets and wonderful beaches all within easy reach in the village or a short trip on the Dolmus. All in all perfection, for us anyway and the fact that we have spent 2 months here this year and hope to do the same next year speaks for itself. In fairness I must add that there are quite a lot of steps around the property and some ducks who cannot tell the time but we are both pensioners and manage the steps ok and we love the ducks anyway.

" Great hotel- shame about the Merriment Hotel next door! "

We have just returned from 14 days at the Pine Valley. It's a lovely hotel set in the local pine forest just on the edge of Hisaronu. It's well within walking distance of the village centre but far enough away to be unaffected by the extraordinary level of commercialism there.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, food is well presented and plentiful (usual Turkish breakfast, but you can pay extra for a Full English Breakfast if you want), and it's kept beautifully clean.
The only downsides to us were the overcrowded swimming pool area (sun beds everywhere) and the unfortunate fact that the Hotel Merriment is located next door, which blares out inane music and karaoke until quite late (up to 11.30 p.m). To us the Hotel Merriment is a misnomer- Hotel Annoyance would be better.
Don't let that distract you from the enjoyment of the Pine Valley. We'd go again!

Advice: An over- anglicised commercial centre, which has lost most of it's ethnic charm.

Activities: Olu Deniz beach and Paragliding- a must! Blue Shanghai Chinese and Flamingo (Fethiye) Restaurants.

" Wonderful Haven "

We have just returned from our second stay at this marvelous hotel. The location is peaceful, set in a forest, the gardens are well-maintained and there is an area for children (and adults) with ducks, chickens and rabbits. The food in excellent and there is always the choice to upgrade at a small cost (we recommend all the upgrades but especially the T-bone which was very tender (we had three) and the fish was out of this world!) The bbcue evening is always very good as is the entertainment in the hotel, although we have seen some of them several times, is always good to see again. The cleanliness of the rooms is good and the accommodation, although basic, is perfectly ok. One of the things that made our holiday was the staff, and all were friendly but especially the waiters and bar staff who were fantastic! My husband used the Turkish bath a lot and as he is disabled, it helped his mobility greatly.
We have already booked for next May and hope to return in September as well.

Advice: Good for everything, short dolmos ride to Fethiye and Olu-denis, has a good market

Activities: We use Hamish MacTurk for tours, always good value

" enjoyable as usual "

Have been to Pine Valley before and it almost didnt dissapoint. The only things i found unbearable were the pool staff were always going on about the english being mean at tipping, dont they know there is a recession!.Also when the pool was full of inflatables you could not swim as pool is not big enough.

Advice: lively at night

Activities: Peking chinese at top of town Boat trips Market

" great hotel...but not for those wanting a quite holiday  "

never been to turkey before, pine valley hotel was fantastic , set in beautiful surroundings with only a short stroll into town and the nearest supermarkets/bars. Staff tried very hard indeed to speak with you, and nothing was too much trouble we arrived late night and were shown to 2 tiny rooms that were not close together as booked, so we were offered a fantastic newly built family room which overlooked the pool these rooms are 721.722.723 and 724 these are highly recommended they are really spacious, sleeping up to 6 with flat screen tv's and two bathrooms both with showers one with a bath. always loads of hot water and maids came in every day. Mini bar is dear but only the same price as the bar in the hotel and no different than staying in any other hotel, as other reveiws have said be discreet with bringing in snacks etc and you will be fine. The hotel is not for those looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday ...well not in august but we are a young family and we loved it ...dancing on bars, entertainment every night, music round the pool each day ... and the staff (ishmal/bob/emra and others) all smiling at 1.00am despite many being on duty since 7.00am !! Hisaranou is a lively resort with lots of choice of bars/clubs and restaurants but some are a bit hard sell to get you in their place...only what you get in other resorts i know but it does start to drive you mad after 14 days !! resort well priced with many offering set meals and special meal prices etc. we booked three trips for 5 people with Carole and Tayfun for an amazing £130 for all 3 trips we did the jeep safari, 12 islands tour and the Fethiyte Water park .....spoke to many at the hotel who go back year after year and i can understand why.

Advice: busy, quite pressured sales pitches in the tourist shops and lots of patter to get you in restaurant

Activities: drink in Red Lion, great to go for a chillout or the Zombie bar if you want lively, trips a must

" Pine Valley Hotel Hisaronu "

Travelers : 2 x Adults 30's 1 x child Age 10.
Just returned from our first visit to Turkey with Thomson stayed at the Pine Valley Hotel.
We thought the hotel and surrounding Hisaronu was a good base and had everything we needed for a family holiday. The staff at Pine Valley were polite, attentive and appropriate with us at all times. There were some people that obviously enjoyed the banter and attention and that's exactly what they got... but we didn't feel uncomfortable and they didn't look it ! Of course it's a money making venture and they want you to spend, they only get 6mths to earn a living! We initially booked for B&B but upgraded to half board after eating out for 3 nights at great expense and hassle. The hotel food was excellent. It was hot/cold open buffet , plenty of choice( fresh fruit, soups, local dishes, cakes ) and rivaled any food we had eaten in the town. Drinks are more or less the same price everywhere. The room was small but adequate and the shower was hot. If you want clean towels everyday , just ask. We re glad we had aircon because at night it was very humid. We did 3 boat trips which we would recommend as good value and we enjoyed the change from the poolside and the terrible music !
Our only Pine Valley moan would be the pool. The first 3 days of our holiday it was so murky you couldn't see the bottom ! Think several people complained because it looked awful and to us unhygienic. By day 3 of our stay it was back to clear/clean for the remaining week.
Overall i would recommend the Pine Valley, just be sensible with your card, don't be obvious with bringing in outside foods and see some of the real Turkey because it's a fascinating country with some lovely people and beaches.

" hot,hot,hot...... "

Just returned from a two week stay at the pine valley hotel, all i can say is it was on of the best holidays i have had for a number of years. The turkisk people are very friendly and food/drink was cheap compared to the uk,owing to a good exchange rate.Food from the hotel was very good, evening meals were varied, though desserts were limited to fresh fruit and cakes.Breakfast was ok.cereal and toast etc, some mornings ommlette/fried eggs. The sfaff were very friendly with lots of entertainment around the pool in the day, water polo, airbed races ect.Yeah there was music playing, but it was never loud, only back ground.Evening entertainment was ok,usual belly dancer etc,but if you didnt like it you could walk into town,5 mins away.Shopping around town was a bit of a hassle at night ,you do get pestered, but if your firm and polite therte is not a problem.Trips out were exellent valve, and included lunch time meal.Yeah your not ment to bring food into the hotel, which is fair comment.Would you expect to eat your fish and chips in your local pub.We brought water, pop, sandwichs back with out a problem, dont walk through reception with a AZDA bag use some common sense. The drinks card system was fine,we payed ours every couple of days,to prevent getting a large bill, yeah drinks were more exspensive than supermarket, but thats no different to home,so why do people expect different on holiday. Room was good ,though family ones were a bit small,we had two rooms to keep kids out of the way.Did not use minibar,no need too.All in all i really enjoyed my stay here, and would have no problem returning here again. Some of the reviews on here are a bit harsh, and miss spelt.

Advice: lively,busy

Activities: boat trips around coast

" Let Down "

The hotel was quite basic in my opinion. The reception staff were very helpful but i cant say the same for the cleaners. they didnt empty our bathroom bin or wash the shower which isnt alot to be asked. the pool is very overcrowded and unless you get up at 7 to put your towel on a bed then you wont get one. in 10 days i spent half an hour at the pool reading my book with my sunglasses on until a waitor hit me on the head and said wake up sleepy head no very realxing. there are alot of stairs at the hotel which can get tiring. our balcony wasnt tidied from the last person so there was deflated lilos on it. also if you have booked for a garden or pool view which i did then its not correct. i was looking onto another block of rooms. the mini bar in the room is very highly priced. a water in azda is about 30p in the room its about £2. the bbq night is fun and food was really good. breakfast is disgusting. its the same everyday. watered down oj, cereal which you cant drink cos the milk is rank and bread with ham or cheese (the ham is about 2% meat). we went once. sleeping at night is hard because the next door hotel plays v loud music until late. the location of the hotel is great. im 18 and was only looking for somewhere sleep as i spent the day at the beach and nights in resturants the shower is powerful so it was ok i just wouldnt go back to this hotel.

Advice: The town is amazing, you also have to gget the dolmus to olu deniz

Activities: Gorge walk is amazing! eat at costellos, Piano bar and dominos

" best holiday ever "

the hotel is under rated as a three star , staff were fantastic , very friendly , very attentive and nothing was too much trouble but were not over bearing in any way . hotel was spotless clean , maids came in eveyday towels and bedding changed regularly .the pool was very clean and tidy as were the beautiful gardens surrounding the hotel . the choice at breakfast was excellent fruit, salad . cheese , meats, yoghurt, cereal, eggs , pancakes , bread , toast, cakes and biscuits and various drinks . the rooms were very comfortable with a nice shower room thre were three of us and we had enough room . the hotel uses a card system to pay for goods purchased at the pool side bar the items were quite expensive compared to the local azda! we just settled the bill at the end of each day . air con is charged at £3 a day but it is cool enough at night not to use it , safety deposit boxes are £1 a day . ther are quite a few steps but would not bother a normaly fit person , it did not bother us at all . it is very queit during the night . the resort is a short 5 minute walk away and has some fantastic eating places, shops , bars and no hassle! its a short dolmus ride to several amazing beaches and the famous blue lagoon . overall excellent cant wait to go back!!!

Advice: you will not be disapointed ,icemelr used to be my favourite place now its hisaronu

Activities: bees knees ,delboys ,lemon tree , shangai blues , mcdowells take away

" argh harrassment "

this was a real let down hotel we arrived at 1am in the morning and were really exhausted with the flight and delays with transfers. we were expacted to carry out suitcases down 3 flights of stairs which a fellow residant had to help up with as the receptionist just carried on walking. when finally getting to our rooms there was no air conditioning working which we went back and forth to the reception about with no luck. they finally gave us a fan covered with dust with then just fanned dust around the room.
i am a 16 yr old girl and the men in the hotel were disgusting they never left me alone i couldnt wallk to the bathroom from the pool without being followed so my mum always had to occompany me. the first day i didn't realize the men were like this and was sat sunbathing while my mum was in the pool suddenly 3 men all sourounded me and were asking very personal questions. and usualy i am ok with this kind of attention as i have been to eygpt which is worse, but these men were very weird and scary my mum swam over and told them to all leave me alone so she eventually got out the pool n sat with me so they would leave me alone even thought they did no my age.
the food well what can i say breakfast , i only had one meal there i wasnt going to attept a second full of flys with a very hard to work toaster which i did set on fire in the end. the juice was ok and cold which was refreshing but we ended up eating breakfast almost every day in an irish bar on the way to hisaronu the owner was lovely and very accomadating.
this hotel is not one for people with walking difficulties or those with young children in prams as you need to climb at least 2 sets of stairs to get anywere even too a ground floor room.
the entertainment was great yet i still had to be accompanied at all times which was not great for having time to myself and relax this also was an inconvenience to my mum who also wanted to relax. especially when getting food at dinner time i was followed while getting foor so my mum had to get food first put it in the table and then accompany me to get mine.
over all if you are a girl 13-21 not the hotel for you as you will be followed and harasssed , yet it was value for money without the harassment. would deffinatly go back if they replaced the men that worked there with women.

" BEST OF THE BEST  "

We have been going to Pine Valley for 16 years, We have been to other countries too but in Turkey I would say Pine Valley is by far the best place to stay.
You cannot please everyone all the time but the Manager and all the staff always do everything to ensure all have a fantastic time. Our Friends were the first to get married at this hotel and though at that time they had not had a Wedding in the hotel before you wouldnt have guessed.
All of the staff give 100 % no matter what time of the day.
Some people mentioned about not having a fried breakfast - well all you have to do is ask and one would have been made for you.
Keep up the good work all at Pine Valley see you again Sept 2009

" We have been to this area a number of... "

We have been to this area a number of times, but all the rooms at our usual hotel were fully booked - so we thought we'd try somewhere else.

The staff were very friendly - to the point of annoyance - they tried too hard to be our 'best mates' right from the first meetings, they all seemed a bit shallow to me and although I'm sure some were genuine, tipping seemed to be their driving goal.

I was also shocked at the prices they charged, a large fanta orange worked out at the equivalent to £3.48 & £2 a pint of local lager and the mini-bar was a lot dearer still and as you were only allowed to use your hotel cards to pay for anything, you'd often get a shock when you settled your bills.

To get a sun bed for 4 people together after 9.30 am was a real struggle - so we ended up spending most of our time at other more relaxed, quieter and cheaper hotels.

The odd time we did come back, you were confronted with large signs at the entrance threatening to confiscate any food or drink bought into the hotel - I was told this was to do with health and safety in case outsourced food made us ill.

On the positive side, we had a couple of evening meals which were of a good standard, but the breakfasts were a little dull, the highlight was the one day a week they did fried eggs !

Ultimately, the whole set-up was a money making machine, in a very inexpensive area for a good value holiday package, you could end up spending as much as a UK holiday.

" I absolutely loved the holiday in... "

I absolutely loved the holiday in Turkey... I loved all the staff in Pine Valley.. I was with a group of 14 and we had such a good time. I rated the hotel 9 out of 10 because the service we received was fantastic and they couldnt of been more friendly and helpful. The only down fall is that the choice of breakfast wasnt to the english taste i.e. no fry up's!!! so it was limited in certain ways, however the turkish breakfast was lovely to try however not to my taste!!

I would definately visit this resort again and again! We were very close to the town, Hisaronu and there was lots to do and plently of lovely resturants!

" Possibly one of the best holidays... "

Possibly one of the best holidays ever to Turkey. I could not possibly complain about anything at this hotel in any way. Booked the hotel directly by e-mail and was met at the airport-private transfer by the hotel.

Fantastic hotel set among the pine forests. The location is the most convenient for going out in the local resorts of Hisaronu and Olu Deniz. Food in the hotel is excellent, and drinks are reasonably priced.

Friendly staff, brilliant accommodation & very clean rooms, great swimming pool, fantastic location! Can highly recommend Hotel Pine Valley- you will not be disappointed.
