Sep 2008, Miss E Chapman

Just got back from Pine valley now! I didn't want to leave!! It was the best holiday i have been on in a long time!
The staff are brilliant wouldn't have been half as good without them! Ishmail and Haron are 2 of the funniest people i have ever met! The service is brilliant, i do agree with some comments that the prices were a bit over the top but they started offering deals whilst we were there
My room was brilliant, although my parents room was a bit small for them!
There are A LOT of stairs wouldn't recomend if you find stairs difficult!
I'm definatly going again next year if not sooner! :D

Just returned from 2 weeks at this...

Just returned from 2 weeks at this hotel, our fifth time at Hisaronu, 1st time at The Pine Valley (usually stay at The Asena Village).
This Hotel is a good 3* Turkish Hotel and we enjoyed our stay here, (even though it was our 2nd choice to The Asena Village).
The staff work very hard and manage somehow to remain happy and friendly, (thanks Harran, Bob, etc.).
The entertainment is a bit hit and miss. Enjoyed the obligatory turkish nights, and the dancing show / BBQ night even the Elvis show at a push, however the quiz night, bingo night, etc. were really poor.
The Bar / Entertainment area is run down, try getting comfortable on the wicker seats!
The drinks can be expensive, the Turks have caught onto the british pub con of charging more for soft drinks than a large beer. Don't order a large coke which worked out at about £3ea, cocktails about £6ea.
The maid was poor, the laminate flooring to our room was always dusty and they never cleaned under the beds which was thick with months of dust!
Towels are only changed if you leave them on the floor, trying to save money me thinks!
The minibar / fridge is overpriced and there are notices saying that any of your own food/drinks placed in the fridge will be removed, (more money grabbing).
We bought ours at the local Azda (yes thats how its spelt) much cheaper.
We have never been to Turkey in August, we found it too hot, expected this at daytime however it remained v hot at night, none of the public areas are air conditioned!
The £3/night AC in the room was essential!
The courtesy bus to the beach does not take you to the public lagoon beach, but to a private part of the lagoon where i suspect you are expected to spend, spend, spend.
Hisaronu has gradually become more and more commercialised and is now Blackpool in the sun, doubt we will return again.
The prices in the area have really increased, i remember when we could forget about money as everything from the dolumus, drinks, meals, to the logoon entrance, were for next to nothing, now everything has gone up, up, up!
Maybe AI board is more attractive now in Turkey.
Again we had a good holiday, shame the capitalist world has spoilt what once was a relaxing retreat.

this was our second time to hisaronu...

Sep 2008, Mr M Woods

this was our second time to hisaronu and first time to pine valley , i agree with comments made by the guets who enjoyed thereselfs and also those that didnt, to be honest i thought the rooms where of a ok standard really only used them to sleep and shower in if you want the ritz it aint but if you want faulty towers it aint either. if you struggle with stairs and hills this aint the place for you because one way or the other you will have to use them .. the pool area can be slippery so please be very careful.. the 1 st day i got there went to get a sunbed and as normal found so many towels thought i was in a chinese laundry so if you want a bed get there very early not to beat the germans but our own the brits sad lol.... the fridge in your room what a joke just open it and shut it again and maybe they will charge better prices in the future. i was ready for an argument if they tried to stop me taking drink and food to my room from outside as far as i was concernered i payed for bab and aslong as i didnt take things to the pool, bar or restaurant areas it was up to me, so was ready for them , i didnt just think the hotel was expensive for drinks i thought the whole area is, nearly 10 pounds for a malabu and coke no thanks, the staff were friendly but a little ott sometimes but i think its there sense of humour, overhaul it was ok but not sure if i would go again. turkey is very expensive had to be very careful and watch our money . cheers mick...

We have just returned from 14nights...

Sep 2008, Mr M Thompson

We have just returned from 14nights at Hotel Pine Valley in Hisaronu, and i can say what a great holiday!! The rooms are basic but clean and tidy, with cleaning service on your request. You have a air-con in the room at a cheap rate of £3 a day so dont understand why some people said it cost more than the holiday. You have a minibar in the room which is yes a tad expensive but really handy and the hotel card that they give you is so you dont have to carry cash around with you and also again il add people said they rip you off, they dont you are given a receipt which if you hold on to and have any problems which you wont you can proove for your purchases. We just paid our room/card bill of daily so we kept up to date with it. The staff at the Pine Valley are true lively turkish, they shake your hand all the time which to myself is been poliet, they like to get to know there guest as love to sit and talk, the staff made this holiday for us they are lively and out to make you laugh all the time, so if you are not the lively fun seeking person or group pine valley isnt for you!! There is so much going on at the hotel each night including BBQ night and Turkish Night which are included in your half board package or if you are s/c its £10pp which includes great entertainment and an open BBQ, which is so nice. The half board in pine valley is fine breakfast been toast and cerals. The evening meal is the starter of soup and diffrent dishes, the food isnt fab but eatable, some nights we just ate out and if you know turkey this is so cheap to do a meal costing roughly £16 for 2people. We wouldnt do half board here as there wasnt much choice for meals, but dont let this put you off Pine Valley is a great place with fab staff.... we enjoyed it so much we are going to Pine Valley for 3 weeks next September.

Entertainment wise it was excellent from the staff performance to the foam parties and barbeques a great laugh!!
Although we did eat out a few nights because there was some food we didnt like but other than that the food is of a high standard along with the service and cleanliness of the hotel. The staff made you feel at home and if you had a querie they would help you out as much as they can. Were DEFINITELY revisiting this hotel again infact were already booked for next year!

Possibly one of the best holidays ever to Turkey. I could not possibly complain about anything at this hotel in any way. Booked the hotel directly by e-mail and was met at the airport-private transfer by the hotel included in the price.

Fantastic hotel set among the pine forests. The location is the most convenient for going out in the local resorts of Hisaronu and Olu Deniz. Food in the hotel is excellent, and drinks are reasonably priced.

Friendly staff, brilliant accommodation & very clean rooms, great swimming pool, fantastic location! Can highly recommend Hotel Pine Valley- you will not be disappointed.
I will be going back next year...

Right where do i start, for 1...

Right where do i start, for 1 thomsons do not do family rooms for 3 people you have to upgraid when you get to the hotel and pay for a extra person. Dont tell me im wrong as ive been going to this hotel for 8 years and my sister has had to do this, and also yes the do make mistakes with the card but if you go up and tell them at reception they will sort it and if you use your brains its a good idea to keep your receipts you have proof.
And you have to pay for air con in any hotel you stay in even if you hire a fan you have to pay for it so air con is not going to be free.
Also yes the do say dont bring food in but if you go into a pub in england they dont let you in with food and i can honestly say ive been going to turkey for 14 years and every hotel tells you not to bring food in.
Right if prices are too high dont drink there.
Yes round the pool gets slippy tiles+water=slippy any where you go even in england if thers tiles and water its slippy.
And to be honest we had our last tea in pine valley and it was best meal, we had la carte 3 corse meal best meal ever for 6 pound.
We always get water and other bits and bobs from out the hotel and we have never had our fridge unplugd and at end of day it is so easy to plug a fridge back in.
Also some stomach upsets are because your drinking cold drinks instead of hot think about it your hot out side then drinking a cold drink you need to have hot and cold drinks.
Whats point in complaining about the noise right your there for bout 2 weeks, most of you its not like its a life time. And also i had a child running outside my bed room at 7 o clock you cant blame it on hotel they cant do any thing about it.
Any way ill write my review now, as ive said ive been going to Turkey for 14 years ive been to Marmaris 4 times Altinkum 2 times and Hisaronu 8 times pine valley is the best hotel i have ever stayd in, all the staff are lovely and will do anything to help. We hate coming home so next year we have booked for 3 weeks. Year after year the same people come and if the hotel was really as bad as some people say why would people come back year after year. I know some body whos been going to pine valley for years and went to a different hotel for a change and ended checking out of that hotel and going back to pine valley.
Sorry for this review but it is so anoying when some people give this hotel a bad name.

Aug 2008, Mrs J Robinson

we have just come back from 2 great weeks at pine valley. we enjoyed every moment and the staff work very very hard and are always happy and smiling. there are so many staff that we wish to thank and send our warmest regards to but these are the ones that really stick out dr bob, ismail, aaran, kamal and sarish im sorry if the spelling isnt right. they make yr stay a very happy and enjoyable from the bar-b-que nights, bingo nights, quiz nights and the foam parties where they get every one from old to young in the foam, they couldnt do enough for you.
the rooms are small but very very clean and the sheets are changed twice aweek and the towels when you leave them on the floor.
the hotel is very very clean and the food is great.
i would strong recommend this hotel to everyone i know and i know that we will be going back again.

Having read some of the comments I can not believe I stayed at the same hotel. You can not please all of the people all of the time but by God ten out of Ten to the staff at Pine Valley who go out of their way to give 100% service to all the customers.
I have been to Pine Valley for 3 years running and have never had any stomache complaints and found the food to be sunstantial, good quality and varied. It is true that the mini bars could be termed expensive but go to any hotel and see the prices-thats business-so wake up customers if you want convenience there is a price attached.
As for the Hotel, the owners have gone out their way to create a natural setting and a look that is hard to beat. The customer service is second to none and from the reception staff-the waiters, asistant waiters, bar staff, maids, kitchen staff and management you could not want for more genuine attention and customer service than this hotel gives. I have never met a more hardworking crew that are at your service almost 20 hours a day trying to beat everyones expectations.
I hear complaints about bringing food and drink back in-God give me strength if that is the biggest bug bare of their holiday then why come on holiday. Things are tough that is for sure and in reality they do not give a damm about the odd bits and pieces but surprise surprise there are always a minority that abuse rules---Hmmm just think about holidays and sunbeds in the morning.
If you want a holiday destination that is safe, fun and a hotel that really listens and puts the customer needs first and work there backsides off then you will not be dissapointed. The star rating remember is 3 star but what you get is well above this in delivery of service/food and cleaniless. Year after year Pine vally delivers improvements in terms of room standards, service and amenities.
I could not shout loud enough about the service and location of this hotel. To the management and staff of Pine Valley you deserve medals for delivering exemplorary service with a smile 24 hours a day. As in life you get of a holiday what you put in and the staff at Pine Valley create the atmospehere for you to have fun.
One last thing as for noise I can not see what the issue was as our rooms were just below the main bar and facing the pool and it did not cause us a problem. As for womens shoes on tiles -perhaps it is down to the customers to have some more consideration for fellow customers afte all everyones on holiday. We have been to Turkey for the last 3 years and the weather has been perfect every year unlike the rest of Europe-not surprised if some customers complained about too much sun.
I would reccomend this holiday location and Pine Valley to anyone-There is no such thing a 100% perfect holiday but the staff and owners at Pine Valley certainly try to achieve this dream day in day out. The one thing I left till last is that by the time you leave the hotel and look back on your holiday what you really feel is that you have left long lost friends behind-that is the power of this hotel in creating memories that last and unlike most holidays yoo too will want to keep in contact and return again and again.
Keep up the good work and if there was a award for dedication then the Pine Valley Team would win year in year out.
Enjoy your holiday.

Aug 2008, Mr R Waudby

I have read the comments of other customers who visited the hotel and although i agree that certain things need to be upgraded i cannot see how people can knock the hotel. I have been staying at the same hotel for at least 8 years and i am the first one to moan if i am not happy.the thing that makes a holiday is the staff and even though some of the staff change from season to season the nucleas remains the same.they have always shown us how welcome they are to have us there without any financial remuneration and now treat these people as our friends.the problem with some english is they want everything to be as they would have it at home.sure the tiles are going to be hot but what do they expect in a hot country.i have nothing but good things to say about the turkish people and particually the staff at pine valley.you show me any hotel anywhere in the world where you are satisfied with everything.if there is a problem talk to them it gets sorted.i will continue to visit this hotel and meet as many turkish people as i can and will some day retire there to get away from the whinging brits who cannot see any further than their wallets.

I stayed for a week with my fiance...
4 / 10
Aug 2008, Miss M Green

1 reader found this review helpful

I stayed for a week with my fiance and 7 year old daughter and it was a farce from day one! The 'family' room we had booked was a box with 3 single beds and not a 2 bedroomed apartment as promised by Thomsons. My fiance checked with Thomsons before we went to double check and they said it would have 2 bedrooms. Complained to the hotel who moved us to another room which had a double and a single bed and hardly any room to swing a cat! We had to drag out luggage from the first room, bearing in mind that there were a lot of steps, to the other room. The drinks were overpriced as a small bottle of water was 3 times more that it was in the local supermarket!!! There was a sign saying not to bring any food or drink onto the premises but we ignored that and brought stuff in everyday. The linen wasn't changed everyday as stated. I noticed a black mark on one of the pillow cases and after our room was cleaned the pillow had just been moved from one bed to another! The noise from the bar kept us awake some nights. The pool was quite slippy and my daughter slipped once but luckily didn't hurt herself . I saw various people do the same thing! They tried to con us with the card system by charging us twice for the air conditioning! I definately wouldn't stay there again and wouldn't recommend it to anybody else!
