Blue Orchids Beach Hotel

A lovely location - couldn't be better - absolutely beautiful. Staff friendly and helpful. Beautiful rooms but ceiling could have had a lick of paint and hairdryer not working. However, I would definitely return just for the views.

We renewed our wedding vows in Barbados and stayed at the Blue Orchids (C block) was absolutly heaven!!! The view from our rooms was the best I have ever had in the Carribean...the hotel was well kept and every one was very friendly....We had no street noise that other reviews had mentioned...The sound of the ocean was the best..The restaurant although at Island pace had great food and was worth waiting for!! We were in our own little heaven with the sunrise on the left and sunset on the west!!! Security was 24 hrs. I can't wait to go... more

Recently spent eight days at the Blue Orchid Beach Hotel in Barbados. This spot to attached by a breezeway to its sister hotel the Coral Mist. Both are owned by the same people. My wife and I thought throughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is right on the beach and has its own pool and gardens. This is the third time to Barbados and the first time here but would stay here again on our next visit. Got back from Blue Mist on 13 February 2006. The hotel was fantastic! Staff couldn't do enough for you, any trip you wanted booking they did it, if you wanted a taxi they booked it for you. The facilities were very clean and well maintained. The hotel is well located within easy walking distance of St Lawrence Gap and lovely beaches. There are some good watering holes on the main road and two good supermarkets very close by. We spent 5 nights at the Blue Orchids in room C204. This was a corner room with an awesome ocean view. We really enjoyed the property. It gets four stars because of its close proximity to stores, shopping, and most importantly the beatiful beach. The room itself consisted of a kitchen, living area, bedroom and bathroom. We just returned from our fourth visit to Barbados and stayed at the lovely quaint Blue Orchids Beach Hotel. It is situated in the most convenient location in all of the south coast. There is an internet location right across the street, 2 groceries stores within a 5 minute walk, dozens of fabulous restaurants, all within walking distance. It is really nice to be able to have a kitchen in your suite for the times when you don't wish to eat out. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Blue Orchids and Coral Mist are owned by the same family and share facilities, beach and some staff. Located right on the ocean with a beautiful white sand beach. Very friendly staff, with special mention for Reggie and Vidhuttama, both located in the Coral Mist. We highly recommend these hotels and feel they priced very competitively. Have just returned from ten days at the Blue Orchids and had a wonderful time. The hotel is clean and modern and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The only downside was the traffic noise (and this was only minor) but if you open the patio doors the sound of the surf drowns this out, the traffic cannot be heard from the beach and probably not from the building nearest the beach. Just returned from Barbados - stayed at Blue Orchid and loved it!! We originally had reservations for Coral Mist (adjacent) but they were overbooked so put us into (upgraded) a lovely delux studio with a beautiful ocean view! The Blue Orchids was everything that you could have asked for and the price was right. We booked the "Winter Swizzle" package (4 days, 3 nights) which included airport pick up and drop off, 3 breakfasts and 1 dinner at the AquaMist (restaurant that's part of the property) and a 1 day car rental foe a little over $700 (US dollars).
