Golden Lighthouse Hotel

We have just returned from a wonderful month-long stay at the family-run Golden Lighthouse Hotel in Patara. We couldn't have asked for a more delightful experience; the staff were extremely warm and friendly and couldn't have done more to make us feel not only welcome but part of the family. The hotel is well located, a few minutes from the centre of Patara. The pool is large and extremely well maintained and the hotel is kept spotlessly clean and scrupulously well-maintained throughout. The rooms are a good size, air-conditioned and provide a welcome haven at the end of a long-day in the July/August sun. We took up a number of excursions offered by the hotel and enjoyed them all - most memorable were Jeep Safari - a fun day for all the family, canooing through the beautiful national park and a delightful trip to the mountains. Patara has a wonderful beach - the best we have come across - and the hotel very helpfully offered a free bus service back and forth - particularly welcome as the temperatures increased and walking in the hot sun became more of an effort.
We particularly enjoyed the Turkish and barbeque nights offered by the hotel and the fact that no matter how busy, the staff always managed to find time for us. We can't wait to return next year and cannot recommend this hotel highly enough to families and independent travellers.
