Ocean Reef Yacht Club & Resort Hotel

The Ocean Reef Yacht Club (ORYC) was a delight. My daughter and son-in-law, my wife and myself spent a week at the ORYC over Thanksgiving. We enjoyed everything about it except the terrible weather we had. And of course, the ORYC had nothing to do with that. We had a 2 bedroom townhouse. It was wonderful in all aspects. If you are looking to spend some time in the sun and enjoy personal service in a friendly atmosphere then you should go to Ocean Reef. Great Staff! Renovated rooms! Attractive Resort with a personal status. When Jock and I went to Ocean reef we felt like part of a special family. The staff made us feel special. The island offers great beaches, nice snorkling and diving sites, a national park, a cute lucayan marketplace and lots of Bahama Mamas... I definitely will go back!

Just returned from the Ocean Reef Yacht Club & Resort in Freeport, Bahamas. If you're looking for a peaceful, quiet and relaxing place to vacation then this is the place! Everyone we encountered was friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. While the property is not located on a beach, daily shuttle service to the beach is provided. The resort is nice. Most of the people are friendly. The new rooms are nice. We didn't get to stay in them but the tour they strong armed us to go on showed they were nicer units then they gave us to stay in for the week. The grounds are well kept and the resaurant and store on site are a plus. Be aware: The activity person was a little pushy and they really strong arm you to do the Resort tour. I just spent a week at Ocean Reef with some friends and we had a great time. We had a 2 bedroom suite which was large, very clean with all the conveniences we needed and a big balcony overlooking the water. It even had king sized beds in each bedroom. The staff is great and will do anything for you. The welcome party was fun with free Bahama Mamas and a buffet. We stayed in a 1 br suite for 5 nights and really enjoyed the place. The apartment was exceptionaly clean and had no problem with water pressure and plenty of hot water. the staff was excellent and went out of their way especially with my 3 yr old granddaughter (she won everyone's heart). We have stayed at several place over the past 11 years and this was by far the best. my daughter and i even joined the Vacation Club so we will be going back for the next 25 years. My husband and two children stayed for a week beginning April 1st. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite that was beautiful - very clean w/ wonderful furnishings. It was much more roomier than I had imagined it would be. It did not feel like a hotel as much as a well run condominium complex. This is a quiet place for the most part, with very few children. My friend and I stayed five days at this hotel in August 2005. We went to the Bahamas to spend our days on the beach, and all the literature we read (including from Interval, who we traded timeshares through) said that the beach was a short walk, but it took us almost half an hour to walk to the beach- of course our flip-flops didn't expediate the trip! Just returned from the ocean reef on Feb.25 2006. I went down with my girlfriend during school vacation with rest and relaxation on my mind and it was exactly what I got. The two of us stayed in a one bedroom suite and saved ourself some money by taking advantage of the full kitchen they had. We brought some of our own food down with us and bought some at a local supermarket. We were able to make breakfast, lunch and dinner on a daily basis.
