Right on the beach & also near to the main road for taxis & the Noddy train to Sousse/Port El Kantoui.

Submitted By: Ms M BarrsIf you are planning on visiting the royal beach make sure you go to the welcome meeting as it is very worth while even if it`s only to meet the rep Kate who is very friendly & always on hand to help with anything that is thrown @ her she`s one of the best rep`s i`ve met on my holidays abroard, i can recommend the African dream excursion also the rep`s night @ the casino & if you want to visit the markets it`s best to go with a guide for the first time as the locals in the town will try to say that they are staff from your hotel & lure you into going shopping with them... Anyway i would return to tunisia definately ....

Submitted By: Mr G HorneThis hotel is basic but very nice, staff brilliant, rooms clean and fairly modern but lacking comforts ie TV, Kettle, Fridge although I believe they can be hired, but would not bother with TV as tv in bar was rubbish only english channel was sky news.
Food was adequate but very repetitive, we all suffered the runs at some point during the 2 weeks we stayed (put this down to the omelettes being under cooked, ask for well done).
Beach was beautiful, sea great and safe, watersports available, security good kept most of the annoying illegal sales people from hassling.
Wish I could say the same for the rest of the Tunisian people I found them to be extremely annoying constantly hounding us to look at their wares, could not even take a walk as the taxi drivers pestered us as well.
Excursions are good if arranged through your rep, tour guides keep the locals at bay, Sahara excursion was good but a very long bus trip to and from Sahara all other excursion very good value.
Overall a good break for one week as the entertainment was a bit tacky and repeated the second week in hotel, as for surrounding area I very rarely ventured out at night as it was very intimidating (avoid tenpin bowling, keeps breaking down and cost more than in UK to play, beer also dearer here, felt taken for a ride, local gangsters and there molls frequent this place "SCARY").
The hotel disco was very loud and went on till about 2/3am so if you like an early night forget it (could be heard from anywhere within the hotel). Local unsavoury's use one of the hotel bars at night and effectively make it off limits to holiday makers.
I am sad to say I will never visit Tunisia again, mainly because of the behaviour of the locals, they only like you if you are spending money.
SORRY BUT IF YOU CHOOSE TO GO HERE FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE STEPS.
Try the excursions, use the beach, use the hotel facilities at night, avoid big market places, but most of all ask advice from your rep or hotel staff they know best and you should still enjoy the experience.
" I returned from Tunisia a few days... "
Submitted By: Miss L RossleeThe only down side to my stay was the food, but there were more then enough restaurants around at decent prices.
The rooms were clean, but it would have been nice to have a kettle in them.
I never once heard the noise from the disco/club downstairs.
I'm looking forward to returning with my friends, you cant beat rolling out of bed right onto the beach, hassle free.
" The hotel is in a great location.... "
Submitted By: E HubbardThe hotel staff was very friendly and looked after us well. Our room was clean and maids came every day. View from our room was just like the brochure.
Food was not as good as some hotels around ;there was very little sweets and it was take or leave, I know we spoke to manager and the owner whom both said they had chef problem and would get sorted out.
At meal times had to be quick for plates and cutlery as not enough for everyone had to wait for clean ones. Will have to be truthful and give bad with good reviews.
Entertainment had different thing on each night great laugh. Bars in hotel clean and well looked after staff very very helpful especially Sammy who even tried a Scottish song not too bad.
Overall we had a great holiday and will be back and at this hotel more good points than bad and I hope soon.
" I stayed here with a group of friends... "
Submitted By: Mr AR TurnerThe hotel accommodation is relatively basic but clean and comfortable.
The staff are amazing and incredibly friendly and helpful.
The hotel is very well located on a lovely stretch of beach which the hotel kept spotlessly clean, they would even bring food and drinks to you at your sun bed for a small extra charge.
The food served in the cafe at the hotel was good value and very tasty.
We thought the hotel was well located and for the money is very difficult to beat!
There is a bit of light entertainment provided at night which is nice to have available and although the noise travels through to the rooms, it finishes relatively early.
Overall a great place to stay, especially for the prices it’s available at!
" I have just paid £960 to come home... "
Submitted By: Miss G NuttycombeI took my 3 year old daughter and my 86 year old Nan, so I knew I was in for a hard time, but nothing prepared me for Tunisia, it was so scary.
The men didn’t leave my daughter alone (as she is very blonde) I felt too uneasy. I didn’t see any of the shops or restaurants it was not suited to my family at all.
As for the hotel, the food was terrible (only suitable for Germans or people on liquidation diets).
The rooms were so basic, no draws for your clothes, no kettle, no hot water, 3 beds in a row touching each other and we were right above the bar so all we heard all-night were chairs being dragged along the floor, it was awful.
There were two big explosions in the night which I later found out was doors being slammed. I will never return to Tunisia again.
When I broke down in tears asking our rep to help us get home, I was told there was nothing she could do, as there were no flights, so we had to get family in England to book us flights home, we didn’t even get free transfers to the airport.
The fact that the weather was freezing cold didn’t help, as we couldn’t make use of the pools or beach.
" This was our first visit to Tunisia,... "
Submitted By: Mrs J ScottHowever although our room was on the quieter side of the hotel, many guests were kept awake best part of the night wth the noise from the disco, under the hotel, and the entertainment in the reception area which went on till very late, and was suituated below many rooms, so an early night was out of the question.
The only other complaint about the hotel was the maids knocking for the towels at 9 o'clock every morning, and returning them in the afternoon, if you wanted a shower mid day there were no towels about.
The resort of Sousse would be 100% better if it wasnt for the hassle you get from vertually everybody, (shop keepers, taxi drivers, market traders) completely spoiled what could have been a lovely holiday.

the staff were very unhelpful and spoke english when it suited. could only get money changed certain times of the day between 10-12.00 and 14-16.00 hopeless. rooms not bad apart from a toliet leaking sewage, a mouldy shower curtain and bath mat. the rooms were cleaned every day but the maids stole my wifes perfume. when it rained and it did some peoples rooms flouded and the main roof leekedmy wife spent 2 days in bed ill and is still ill now. beer and food cheap £1.25 for the local brew celtica. the entertainment cosisted of bingo and two out of time dancers. kenny the rep is a nice guy and a credit to thomas cook. on the whole awful would hope thomas cook would drop this hotel for next year. i feel sorry for people who have booked the royal beach souuse.
Advice: dont go
