The hotel is in a great location. Private beach very clean and looked after.
The hotel staff was very friendly and looked after us well. Our room was clean and maids came every day. View from our room was just like the brochure.
Food was not as good as some hotels around ;there was very little sweets and it was take or leave, I know we spoke to manager and the owner whom both said they had chef problem and would get sorted out.
At meal times had to be quick for plates and cutlery as not enough for everyone had to wait for clean ones. Will have to be truthful and give bad with good reviews.
Entertainment had different thing on each night great laugh. Bars in hotel clean and well looked after staff very very helpful especially Sammy who even tried a Scottish song not too bad.
Overall we had a great holiday and will be back and at this hotel more good points than bad and I hope soon.

I stayed here with a group of friends and we all had a fantastic time.
The hotel accommodation is relatively basic but clean and comfortable.
The staff are amazing and incredibly friendly and helpful.
The hotel is very well located on a lovely stretch of beach which the hotel kept spotlessly clean, they would even bring food and drinks to you at your sun bed for a small extra charge.
The food served in the cafe at the hotel was good value and very tasty.
We thought the hotel was well located and for the money is very difficult to beat!
There is a bit of light entertainment provided at night which is nice to have available and although the noise travels through to the rooms, it finishes relatively early.
Overall a great place to stay, especially for the prices it’s available at!

I have just paid £960 to come home early after just 2 days in Tunisia.
I took my 3 year old daughter and my 86 year old Nan, so I knew I was in for a hard time, but nothing prepared me for Tunisia, it was so scary.
The men didn’t leave my daughter alone (as she is very blonde) I felt too uneasy. I didn’t see any of the shops or restaurants it was not suited to my family at all.
As for the hotel, the food was terrible (only suitable for Germans or people on liquidation diets).
The rooms were so basic, no draws for your clothes, no kettle, no hot water, 3 beds in a row touching each other and we were right above the bar so all we heard all-night were chairs being dragged along the floor, it was awful.
There were two big explosions in the night which I later found out was doors being slammed. I will never return to Tunisia again.
When I broke down in tears asking our rep to help us get home, I was told there was nothing she could do, as there were no flights, so we had to get family in England to book us flights home, we didn’t even get free transfers to the airport.
The fact that the weather was freezing cold didn’t help, as we couldn’t make use of the pools or beach.

This was our first visit to Tunisia, the hotel was clean, the rooms were basic, the staff were very helpful, the meals were acceptable, waiters were there to help and offer and assistance.
However although our room was on the quieter side of the hotel, many guests were kept awake best part of the night wth the noise from the disco, under the hotel, and the entertainment in the reception area which went on till very late, and was suituated below many rooms, so an early night was out of the question.
The only other complaint about the hotel was the maids knocking for the towels at 9 o'clock every morning, and returning them in the afternoon, if you wanted a shower mid day there were no towels about.
The resort of Sousse would be 100% better if it wasnt for the hassle you get from vertually everybody, (shop keepers, taxi drivers, market traders) completely spoiled what could have been a lovely holiday.

Our first time in Tunisia, and what a wonderful time we had. The hotel should be at least 4*. The staff were excellent the rooms basic as should be expected in one of the poorer countries. The rooms were clean, and nothing was too much trouble. My husband and daughter enjoyed it so much that we have booked again for 2007. Anyone wanting a good hotel with friendly staff, good Tunisian cuisine, and beautiful beach should try the Royal Beach Sousse.

It was a lovely hotel for the price (quite cheap) the food was great and as it was quite small the service was more personal seeing the same staff every day. It had the basics and as the name suggests it is on the beach.
There were building a new hotel next door, but the noise was only during the day, when I was away from the hotel. However I think it would be hard to find any part of Tunisia where there was not building work being done.
We loved Tunisia and if you want a small friendly hotel then this would be great. If you want one more up market with all mod cons go to the Hannibal Palace Hotel.

Been home three months and still missing it! Yesterday we booked a return visit in Sept and already counting down the days!
We were overwhelmed by the friendliness and generosity of the locals and the staff quickly became good friends of ours.
What a week! From relaxing on the hotels private beach to partying the night away with the hotel owner-everyday was wonderful. The hotel atmosphere was so friendly that by the end of the week even the sternest of faces were smiling and not one resident that we spoke to had a bad word to say about their holiday-in fact, everyone was planning to return within the year. There were tears galore on the coach back to the airport, everyone gutted that their holidays had come to an end.
Highly recommend the three dolphins restaurant, unbelievable food and prices.
Weather was heavenly, clear blue water, food and drinks are cheap-what more could you want? If you're thinking of visiting Tunisia it has to be the Royal Beach Hotel!

I am an 18 year old girl and went to Tunisia for the first time in September 04. Since then I have been back a number of times.
I stayed at Royal Beach for the first time in June last year, although I had visited the Euro pub many times before. The hotel is very basic compared to other hotels in Sousse I have stayed in, bur for me and my group of friends a bed was all we was really interested in after a night out with the locals.
The food was not too good but there are plenty of restaurants around. I would stay again but purely because it is one of the cheapest hotels I have found. After all a good holiday for me and my friends is not staying in the hotel but meeting the friendly people around.

We have stayed at the Hotel Royal Beach 6 times since Xmas 2004 and NEVER had one bad experience, The staff are the biggest asset of the hotel and if not treated with disrespect (as we have witnessed on several occasions) by people who think they are better than them because it is a relatively poor country you will find ALL the staff will go out of their way to please.
The food is good Tunisian fare and as long as you don't expect egg & chips or a fry up and are willing to try new things you will be well fed, however if there is nothing on the menu that you fancy; a simple polite word with one of the waiters will produce something you do like.
During the summer Season there is normally entertainment in the large foyer every evening but during the winter season this is less.
The Rooms are Clean and are tended daily (this we know as the cleaner had to wake us up every morning from the night before).
Any illness reported to the staff gets a very prompt response if required by a doctor.
The 2 day Sahara trip is well worth the time, it is hard and fast but pays for itself on the first day
sunrise Xmas morning from the Sahara is out of this world.
If you are and probably will be approached by street sellers or those in the souk (market)then be firm but polite with your "no thanks" my wife and I have never felt threatened in any way whilst in Tunisia and there is very little crime.
If you don't like coach trips the hotel are happy to arrange a car with guide at a very reasonable cost.
They say that a holiday is what you make it but the staff at the Hotel Royal Beach make it even better, our heartfelt thanks to Mr Rashid (manager) Foued (bar manager) Salim (waiter) Sami (waiter) the 3 Mohamed’s, Azeesa (snack bar) Kaled (eurobar) Jay (dj) Akmed (taxi driver who went for our kebabs most nights)hotel Security staff and anyone we have forgot.

What a deceiving tour operator. We have been to Tunisia many times knowing full well the cultures and way of life. But this hotel was beyond a joke. They are just after your money.
Look out for rooms on one side of the hotel as you cannot sleep for the disco that continues on till 4am. The security are even louder. The rooms in the hotel are set laid out in a way that they all lead on to the reception. Hence, any sound is amplified into the rooms. The staff were rude and the rooms dirty. If anyone wants photos for proof i have them. I would gladly email them to anyone. Thomas cook are not interested. If your interested in visiting the casino at the end of the drive, well you cant as the manager ran away with all the money and it closed down a long time ago.
Yep it is now a playground for drug pushers and my family (incl kids) were offered the lot. Make your own minds up but me and my family were exhausted at the end of this one. Shame because we loved Tunisia before this. Never again.

I returned from Tunisia a few days ago. I went with my dad for a week. I really enjoyed my stay at the Royal Beach. All the staff were really nice and friendly and helpful. I found the locals pleasant and like in other countries are just trying to make a living.
The only down side to my stay was the food, but there were more then enough restaurants around at decent prices.
The rooms were clean, but it would have been nice to have a kettle in them.
I never once heard the noise from the disco/club downstairs.
I'm looking forward to returning with my friends, you cant beat rolling out of bed right onto the beach, hassle free.
