Corona Roja Apartments, Playa Del Ingles, Canary Islands
Hotel Information
Hotel Description:
These ideally situated studios and apartments offer great value for money and are popular with the young and lively crowd, therefore we wouldn't recommend them for families with young children or older couples. About 500m to the Aguila Roja and just over 1km to the Kasbah Commercial Centre. There's a small beach nearby and the entrance to the main beach is just over 1km away.Nearby Hotels Viewed by Other Travellers

Submitted By: emaxwilsonThe reps were brilliant, helped everyone we met that needed something done and didn't pester you to go on the 18-30 trips. My boyfriend & I joined the We Love Tuesdays evening for 45euros with a 3 hour free bar which was an excellent night out !
The pool was great aswell, everyone was very relaxed and friendly! The pool bar was pretty good value for money & their food was great!
Overall, Playa del Ingles is a great resort ! We met loads of people who all seemed to have an excellent wee cheeky week away in the sun !
" great holiday "
Submitted By: pricey92be careful though the hotel will charge you if anything happens!
oh and make sure you eat on the beach front, its a big restaurant on the shopping centre with a guy singing with his guitar (cant remember what it's called), absolutly beautiful food! Lovely waitors, they love big groups and will give discount and somtimes free sangria to! We found this on our third night and ate there every night after because we loved it so much!
Advice: Great nightlife
Activities: the restaurant on the beachfront

Submitted By: FluffyDuck> Upon arrival of the hotel they were speedy gettin us to the room quickly.
Room was basic as we expected 2 single beds, no air con, shower, fridge, stove, and a balcony.
There was a TV BUT you had to pay for by the minute, it cost 1 euro per 60 mins.
so I will list the good things about the hotel to help speed this up!
Good things
1. Speedy to get you in the room.
2. Food was nice and cheap from within the hotel.
3. Pool area was ok a bit grotty in places.
Bad thing!!!! where oh where should i start!!!!
1st club 1830's reps were the worst Reps I have ever come across! unenthusiastic not bothered and the blokes were just trying to perve on any new women who arrive.
2nd Hotel staff!!!! 101% worst staff people i have ever ever come across. 1 night at 11 o'clock me and my girl went to go out we entered the lift where two other people were in. The lift stopped it was 35 degrees outside so you can imagine how hot it was inside the lift where there was no aircon. We rang the bell for assistance eventually the receptionist arrived. At this point we were all boiling hot stripping down ready to pass out. we managed to open the doors slightly so we could get some air in. we then saw the receptionist who told s not to open the doors, he then told s that the fire brigade had been called and they will be about 20 minutes. at this point we were overly warm and sweaty madly. We asked the receptionist for some water in which he replied NO!!!!!! luckily some Irish people came to our rescue and gave us some water in which the receptionist did not like!! 20 minutes had past and no fire brigade he lied to us and called the manager! who did eventually open the lift but if he had not been able to we would have needed the fire brigade.
3rd The maids or so they are called, firstly my partner can speak Spanish so this made things easier to communicate, the maids do not work Thursdays or Sundays.
They will only change bedding once every 8 days!!!!!!
They will only change your towel and face towel once every three days.
Upon our departure we had until 12 o'clock to vacate the room at 11 o'clock i was getting ready, so i was naked, we had a ring at the door and my girl answered the door sayining to the maid we were not ready she completely understood and then barged past her into the room, she then ran over to the beds stripped them off and claimed there was a small make up mark on the bed another maid came storming in behind her and rang reception.
I answered the phone and the receptionist was highly aggressive stating we must have to pay 100 EUROS or they are calling the police. They were talking rubbish absolutely rubbish this so called mark (which we had not done) was probably there since the first day the apartment opened.
We then went to reception to check out and nothing was mentioned!!!.
So my recommendation is pay the extra for a decent hotel and avoid these horrible people!!!! absolutely money robbing unhelpful people.

Submitted By: Mr J CampbellFor what me and my girlfiend payed for this holiday it was fantastic. Decent hotel, nice spacious room. Staff friendly. Close to all the main attractions which is great but far enough from them that you done hear anything after 11pm. We were staying on the 4th floor which was like luxury compared some of the rooms. We were self catering so we got a studio aparment. It had a big balcony, seperate room for our beds. little couch and table. Dressing table for the ladies. lol.
Bad points. Now because our return flight wasnt till late on we had to pay 30 euros to continue our room. But we didnt get out own room. we got moved to the 2nd floor. Our room was tiny. No balcony. Only 2 little windows. It was like a prison cell. It had a humid foosty smell which was stinkin. Ohh and it had a cockroach in it as soon as we opened the door. and it was so loud. Even in the morning people were shouting, music blaring etc. So if youre going to book this hotel its a DEFINATE MUST that you request a higher floor. The pool wasnt the cleanest either. The outside of it looked rotten and chipped. and we saw a huge cockroach next to it. So I wasnt in there much.
The beach on the other hand is great though. Now in the hotel brochure it says its right next to it. This is true but its a little tiny beach with lots of stones on it and it never has any people on it. The main part is a little bit of a walk. But its a lovely walk along the promenade with all the little shops and stuff so its not so bad.
Overall. I had a fantastic holiday and would highly recommend going. Nice enough people. Some great restaurants. El Rancho was top drawer, Unbelievable. We went self catering for 2 weeks and got the holiday fot less than 300 quid which is why I think most people will be thinkin about goin in the 1st place.
Just remember. If youre going for the Coronja Roja which I do recommend its a dead cert to request a higher floor. Prefferably 4th floor upwards. Because theres no way I would have put up with The room We got for a day for 2 weeks.

This hotel was dirty, the room was cramped, the power was always going off, no ho****er @ most times of the day, crawling with bugs / insects (especially cockroaches). The rooms were hot & sticky but you expect that in July so I went to go & rent airconditioning (the only time reception would help is when they thought they were getting money out of you) however this was Eur 90 a week! so I opted for the more reasonable fan.
When complaining @ reception over numerous things, they would simply shrug there shoulders, turn aroun & walk away.
Thought about a nice day around the pool, went to go for a swim & a sort of skin over the top of the pool so couldn't do that. Lunch came, thought would treat myself to a beer, but sadly the glass had a bug in it was filthy with crisp crumbs amongst other things around the rim. I correctly asked for another but was not allowed. My cheese & home toastie was also cold!
Nice place Gran Canaria will probably go back but the hotel ruined my hotel so certainly won't be going back there!
