Happy Hour!

Although we didnt stay at the hotel we met up with friends a couple of times and also had lunch there. It is cheap and cheerful and you can have a very pleasant evening (happy hour is 8.30-9.30). The owners and staff are very friendly and there seemed to be many repeat customers who were very happy. Had a look in one of the rooms and although small, was very clean and tidy.

  • Advice: there are plenty of supermarkets around for basics such as shampoo/conditioner if you just bring hand luggage

I have recently with my daughter spent seven nights here and I have to say how enjoyable it was.
The rooms are exceptionally clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The breakfasts were varied on a daily basis served by friendly staff.
Every evening there is a happy hour and for those who wish to participate, a quiz and bingo offering cash prizes.
Generally a nice place to stay and I highly recommend.

Sue and Emma made me very welcome on arriving. nothing is to much for them they will do anything to make your hoilday experience better. The staff are outstanding and extreamly kind. To start with i opened my balcony door to a picturesque view of the sun rising. The rooms are small but the hotel and rooms are 100% clean but at the end of the day all you do is sleep in your room. Wayne Declan & Marley always give you something to smile about. During bingo sue entertains everyone by improvising names and funny ideas to the numbers in bingo and questions in the quiz. Gary is an outstanding chef who doesnt mind going away from the menu to make you the meal you want. Chefer is the only Spainish maid I know that can make a proper English bed and English tea. There is know pool on site but just a 30 secong walk and you have the privlage to use the facilities of the Anfora hotel.

Me and my daughter stayed here for two weeks in august 09 and we had the best two weeks thanks to the lovely welcome and lovely people. Wayne is legend and Emma brightens the mornings up. Will be back in Ibiza soon playing Bingo at seas.

If having a balcony is important to you then do not book this hostel. Sunset and Thomas cook are selling rooms here with balconies but when you get there you won`t get one as there are only 7 rooms out of 25 with balconies, Thomas Cook are in breach of contract by doing this. This element spoilt our holiday.
The hostel is spotless and in a great location. The staff friendly.Breakfast cooked for you each morning. We had a 3 beded room that was spotless and basic but looked as if it had been recently refurbished, good sized bathroom. No lift so a bit of a climb up the steps, and rooms that are very hot due to no aircon and only a small window so no chance of the room cooling down.
I wouldn`t return here as there is no pool, no balconies, no aircon and there aren`t any fire escapes.I knew there wasn`t a pool or aircon but the lack of a balcony made the room feel more like a prison cell. It`s such a shame as I loved the friendliness and location and I love EsCana.

we have just returned home after a wonderful six week summer holiday at the vista al mar in es cana and cannot wait to return there in october.we cannot imagine ever going anywhere else as for us it is the perfect family resort.the rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable, the view is fantastic, the food is terrific value and there is entertainment to suit all ages.most amazing of all, though,is the unforgettable and unique hospitality shown by sue, emma, wayne, michelle, peps, sara and gary who work so hard to ensure that every day is full of laughter and happiness.the only complaint is that we have to leave.thanks to you all for making our holiday so special once again.

  • Advice: es cana is perfect for family holidays catering for young and old.

Have just returned from Vista Al Mar,our room was a twin, very basic but perfectly adequate, after all your not going to spend a lot of time there. It was cleaned every day(except Tuesday)to a high standard, the room we had(110)had a view to die for, i e-mailed Sue in advance to ask for this, and bless her she came up trumps. As regards Sue,Wayne etc, they are fantastic, cannot do enough for you,the breakfasts are very good, all in all i would highly recommend, in fact it should have a higher rating. Es Canar is a small friendly place with lots of bars and restaurants,we found varying prices eg a pint of lager at Apache was 1.50euros and went up to about 3.50 at other places,Las Arenas we found was a nice place to eat with reasonable prices, a meal for two with a drink for less than 20euros is not bad in my book! The water taxis are great fun and frequent,14euros return to Ibiza Town and 27 to Formentera, but be warned it was quite rough when we went and one or two people were sick.As regards nightlife Popeyes bar and Charlies both had nightly entertainment until late. One last thing i would like to mention is the Danny Torres Foundation, please go to the Vista Al Mar website and click on the Danny Torres link,Danny was Sues son who was tragically taken from her in an accident.Sue has set up a charity for underprivalaged children in Ibiza in his name,it would be wonderful if you were going to Es Canar to make a small contribution.Would i go back? You bet!

We had a fantastic time at the Vista Al Mar! We enjoyed it so much we have already booked up with Sue again for next year. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food was great and very reasonably priced too. The location was superb and the rooms were so clean. The maid tidies every day except Tuesday. You get new towels every day too. We were so pleasantly surprised. Did not expect anything great as we paid so little. It was amazing! Absolutely loved Es Cana too. Met a bloke who was there for the 5th year in a row. No wonder it is so popular, it's lovely. The weather was fabulous too. My mum came out to join us for a few days. She was staying in Cala Llonga at a 4star all inclusive hotel. She much preferred our accomodation and has booked up with the Vista for next year also.

we stayed at the vista had two rooms both clean and tidy breakfasts were spot on had to pay 10 euros per day for the sun loungers at the zodiac pool across the road food in the vista was spot on and the entertainment at night was enoyable with wayne sarah pepe and michelle working well to keep yoiu in the mood, soft drinks were a bit expensive,
if you go to the pool try going to the supermarket next door for, soft drinks and snacks try and avoid buying drinks at the pool too dear for my liking, but the spanish know when the brits are on holiday we just pay and pay and pay,
a pint of fanta orange or coke 4 euros or £3.20p in english a pint of beer 3 euros ,cider eg magners or woodpecker 2 bottles for 5 euros overall we are hoping to go back next year only with a few more euros ,fine and basic but comfy

We have just returned from the Vista...

We have just returned from the Vista Al Mar in Es Cana. This hostel is a lovely little place, with clean rooms, great views and helpful friendly staff. We have had an excellent holiday was a bit dubious at first as we have always stayed in a larger complex with more facilities, but we were very pleased overall.
We had an excellent apartment on the top floor which also provides self catering facilities, which is a bonus if you like to eat in. The balcony is approx 25 feet long, the wall is quite high you will have to stand up to look over, but the views are fantastic looking directly over the sea and Zodiac Pool (you won't be disappointed).
The food at Vista Al Mar is basic, but they offer good 3 course menus for approx 8 euro. We found that most of the restaurants throughout Es Cana have roughly the same menu to offer, the zodiac was good for snacks during the day and we found the Miranda and Paradise Gardens served lovely evening meals.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at Vista Al Mar, probably the most relaxed atmosphere we've experienced and we've been travelling abroad 20 years. Sue is fantastic we experienced some problems on the trip and Sue, Wayne and Peps helped us out. They provide the whole package, if you need any help or advice just ask one of them. As previously mentioned this is rated too low!!!!
Thankyou to all of you at Vista for looking after us!

Just returned from Vista al Mar, had a great time. We were allocated the apartment, ideal for 4 people and a big balcony! The room was cleaned everday but 1, and staff were excellent, especially Sarah. Brilliant with young children, made everyone feel welcome. In an excellent situation, minutes away from beach and resort centre. Should have a higher rating than 1 star!
