I stayed in the playa sol apartments in May 2009. I (25 yr old male) went with my uncle and it's fair to say we went to have a relaxing break with plenty of fun too. Firstly in terms of resort we were both really impressed with Es Cana, its a lovely place overall. There are a variety of bars and places to eat, certainly enough variety for a week, 2 would probably get a bit boring because it's not a very big resort really. Having said that, I gladly lazed on the beach day after day, drank a fair amount of sangria in the blazing sun and sampled the local bars at my leisure. If I'm honest, it's the best resort I've been to out all the usual ( Magaluf, Alcudia, Albufeira, Laganas, Sidari, Puerto Rico etc) and I'd recommend to anyone. Only downside is that the sea has jellyfish, I got stung on my first day and it put me off going in the sea so be warned.
In terms of Playa Sol, I was pretty pleased really. We had a good sized apartment that looked out over the beach and the main bars just up the road and it was cleaned daily by a gorgeous maid! What I hadn't realised beforehand was that there is no pool which was a bit disappointing but I obviously didn't read the description properly. There are pools nearby that you can use for free so it's not the end of the world. It's worth noting that the reception is not 24hr manned so if you like to have that comfort go somewhere else. It didn't bother me in the slightest and I was quite glad to have the peace and quiet. Back to the apartment, I think we were lucky because I changed the name on the ticket last minute and the hotel were expecting 3 rather than 2 so we may have landed on our feet there. It was a good size with all the expected cutlery and facilities etc. The complex itsef seems to be split into 3 section across 3 floors (front, middle, back) for each floor. As i say we were at the front where you get a great balcony view. The rear also seems to get a similar balcony view. I think if you're unlucky enough to be in the middle you might not be too impressed because I'd imagine you wouldn't have much to look at or a nice spot to relax. Worth bearing in mind before booking.
Overall, the location is perfect, the resort is beautiful and the people are friendly. If you're looking for somewhere that your every need is catered for then choose somewhere else, if you want a base from which you can do your own thing then this is the place for you.

My husband and I spent a very enjoyable week in the Playa Sol apts in Es Cana, this was our fourth visit and we would highly recommend this holiday. Great food at the Miranda and Los Jarros restaurants, lovely lazy days and great bars for the evening.

As a frequent to Ibiza this was by far my best experience of the island. The apartment was comfortable and all of the services met with my expectations. Miranda's bar was fantastic. Run by Manolo, his wife and their sons; all of the staff made the holiday complete. The atmosphere and service were second to none and I will definitely be returning. Iwould recommend this bar to anybody visiting Es Canar. The staff were also excellent with children making this place ideal for young families. My only complaint would be Thomas Cook. The time of the flights was inconvenient and made us miss a day of our holiday (arriving early Saturday and leaving Friday).

great apartments your right in the centre for everything beach, shops, boats and bus stop all on the door stop friendley staff loads off restarants right next to apartments would recomend the MARVENT to anyone had breakfast there every day and most evening meals as well,apartments basic but very clean and not too noisy seeing as bars all round booked again for this year going in august again with my 15yr old daughter and her friend they both love it there.

I recently stayed at the Playa Sol apartments Es Cana. I found the accommodation basic but comfortable and clean. We did not have a balcony but were able to use one at the front of the apartments. The maids were really friendly and so was Peter the receptionist.
The people who own them are so helpful and friendly. The apartments are situated in the centre of Es Cana which is convenient. You are right in the middle of everything that is going on.
I recommend the Bulls Head as they do a really nice Sunday lunch. The Zodiac is good for bingo and entertainment; the staff make you feel really welcome.
All in all it is a good place to stay whatever your age. I enjoyed it that much I will be booking to go again next year, but it was my fourth time. I would fully recommend a holiday to ES cana you won't regret it, and you too will have the bug.

We had a big balcony but the views weren’t very nice. Would go again, but request a sea view.
Lovely food at the Miranda restaurant and very convenient location, just minutes away from everything.

If you are not lucky enough to get a balcony then the rooms only have small windows and get very stuffy, if you have a late departure time be prepared to get changed in the bar toilets next door or under the stairs, as of 2005 they do not have a spare room for shower or toilet facilities, the resort is great for young and old alike the bars are well staffed with very friendly people, it is a shame the playa sol is not the same.
