just got back last night stayed a week at gran santa ponsa we were supposed to be staying at the plazamar but got moved here and totally loved it the apartments are spacious pool is big and not too cramped. would definetly go back to these apartments

Hi there, Arrived to the Gran Santa Ponsa on the 11/07/09 for one week. Pool area is lovely and clean. Lots of loungers & ( umbrella's cost 1.50 per day). Loads for the kids to do.Very nice bar lady speaks great english and great with the kids. Mary brill with the kids... more

Our first holiday to Gran Santa Ponsa with our 4 year old and 16 year old daughters. We had a fantastic time and Mary & Lucy were absolutely fantastic at entertaining the children. We will definitely return to Gran Santa Ponsa apartments.

Loved Santa Ponsa from IrishChic22
Just arrived home last night. Had a lovely stay in the Gran Santa Ponsa. We arrived on the 15th of May 2007. It was very clean and spacious we had a seperate bedroom,living / kitchen and bathroom. What more could you ask for. We were on the 2nd floor very quiet apart from the dogs at the back in houses but not really a big problem. We didnt really stay in the hotel in the evenings so cant really coment on the entertainment. I would recommend it to anyone, it had 2 lifts, laundry and a soccer pitch, pool table and games room to entertain the younger kids. We mostly went to bar HILL 16 on the main strip. I recommend this Irish Bar to everyone. They really made our holiday. Brendan, Gary and Mark best craic, plenty of drink, and 100% Irish owned. I hope Brendan has a very succesful summer with the live music.

Have just returned from a week in Gran Santa Ponsa. This is just a 10 minute walk from the very centre of santa ponsa. The apartments were very clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly and receptionist are very efficient. I would recommend these apartments to anyone. Just book it. You will love it. Fantastic facilities and loads of sunbeds with a very hot life guard.

Fantastic place to stay, nothing too much trouble, Mary was a God send for the kids and Tony and Adele behind the bar were great. Always made time to have a chat and a laugh. Can't wait to come back next year.

Just read some of the reviews of these apartments and can't believe my eyes!!! We went to the GSP in June 2006, having not been abroad for 15 years. We hadn't paid five star money, so weren't expecting five star rooms, but we had a truly wonderful time. The rooms ARE small, and basic, but what does one expect for the price you're paying?? You sleep in them, and occasionally eat, so who needs the Waldorf?? The pool area is fantastic, although the pool itself is freezing! There are tons of sun loungers, and bags of room round the pool, and always a lifeguard on duty. The apartment entertainment team ( which consists of Mari and er....Mari!), work really hard to keep your kids busy during the day, and lets face it, we don't get charged for that, so why grumble? Evening entertainment leaves a little to be desired, but again, if you don't like it.....go into Santa Ponsa or to The Square if you like it more lively. My point is......this is a pretty basic apartment complex, but its perfectly adequate for a fun family holiday. We paid 1200 pounds for two weeks in June. We got our moneys worth.

Hi, Stayed in Gran Santa Ponsa apartment last June and again in September. When i arrived in September, they even had a bottle of champagne and nuts for us and a note to welcome us back to Santa Ponsa apartmetns. You wouldnt get that in a five star hotel! Have been to Marbella several times and never found somewhere as good as this. I love it so much that we are going again the first week in May and again the second week in July to these apartments. The reception staff are second to none and couldnt do enough for you. The bar staff were great fun. The apartments spotless, pool area so clean and friendly. Ony a nice 10 min walk to the resort centre, which most people like to do anyway to get some exercise. Cannot stress enough how fantastic i find these apartments and looking forward to staying with them again on May 1st. If i could buy one of these i would.

I went to santa ponsa last september with a group of people all ages between 19 - 22. all young and lively, we all had a brillant time, the resort was brillant as we've been to santa ponsa in the pass anyway but these apartments were new to us, yes they were a little walk from the main resort but it was only about ten min and i enjoyed the walk as you pass stalls and shops and the beach as you walked it was really nice, the walk didn't bothor me, we got taxis back from the bars the odd night but it would only cost about 2 - 3 euro, which i found cheap between 3 or 4 people anyway, the staff at reception where grand, nice enough we didn't have any problem with any of them, we didn't like the food in the restuarant at all, we taught that bar staff weren't the fastest at times, but the apartments themselves were fine, no problem. the air condition was in the living room but cooled the whole apartment anyway which was brillant. The Apartments were cleaned every day except one i think it was. and the cleaning lady didnt speck english but still seemed very nice, had a great hoilday and would diff go back to the grand santa ponsa anytime.

Good Points - all rooms overlook very clean pool area - near large supermarket - quiet area but not too far from beach and main shops Bad Points - Dirty room - didn't look like it had been cleaned - Bits of frozen veg still in fridge which leaked - Air-con only in sitting area not bedroom - Big grey haired receptionist was frighting not at all approachable and very rude. - First choice rep rubbish.

Hello, Our family spent 2 weeks at the Gran Santa Ponsa Apartments and we were very disappointed with the hotel and their staff (except Angel the manager of the bar). Where can I start? The hotel is very far from the rest of santa ponsa and every time you need to go to the happening places you either have to walk 30 minutes to get there and 30 minutes back or take a taxi, also the entertainer of the hotel is ALWAYS smoking a cigarette at the door of the hotel or has a beer in her hand (she can honestly drink 20 beers a day). The owner of the hotel is a big German lady and she is always around, almost iimposingingly so, and I think that many times she expects you to say hello to her. The rooms are not big as mentioned by other users and not so clean either. I am sorry but we have been to Santa Ponsa many times and to almost every Apartment complex there and Gran Santa Ponsa is at the bottom of our list.
Great place to stay from clambert
If I could just lift this hotel and bring it to all resorts with me, I certainly would. The rooms were very spacious especially the bedroom. The living room/kitchen has enough space for the amount of time we spend in it. The air conditioning was a life saver as it was very very hot when we were there. The pool area is fab, loads of beds for everyone and the best thing was the lifeguard removed towels from any unattended beds after 10.30am. The kiddies pool could have been a bit bigger as the deeper pool was very big and not full with people at any time whereas the kiddies pool got pretty packed at times. The staff in the hotel were all extremely friendly and helpful and the maids were in 5 days a week cleaning and changing towels. There is a supermarket across the road for all your needs and a much bigger one 5 mins walk away. The entertainment at the hotel at night time was alright. If you like quizzes and karaoke, you'll enjoy but personally we prefer some theme nights and shows but all in all the kids are happy once there's something going on so therefore we're happy too. Mary is the best entertainer ever.!! She remembers all the kid's names and is so friendly with them. She seems to work all the time except Saturdays. There are loads of nice restaurants in Santa Ponsa especially, Jackies, Mrs Murphy's kitchen, Crocodillos and Fat Sams. The beach looked nice even though we didn't frequent. As a resort, I would prefer Cala D'Or or Alcudia as there's much more to see, scenic wise and more places to go for walks. Having said that Santa Ponsa is a very nice resort. All in all, a most enjoyable holiday in the Gran Santa Ponsa.
