It was our first time at the santa ponsa and we had such a fantastic time, everyone is lovely and really helpful, we all just love Mary to bits and are in the process of booking for next year again. The apartments are clean, well laid out and well adequate for a great holiday, we had such a great time my brother and his fiancee are going as well next year! It was my mum, myself and my 2 young kids age 2 and 1/2 and 4 and 1/2, top place top holiday. A+++++

I have stayed at these apartments for 4 years in a row now--so suffice to say it is MORE than satisfactory!!
Actually to say it is perfect would be an understatement----
The apartments are more than spacious and ALL look out on to the pool--so no worrying to be done!!!!
Maid service is regular as clockwork --and friendly--as is the hotel staff
special mention to MARY--the events organiser---a gift from god above when it comes to entertaining the kids--and us adults at times too!!
There are 2 kid clubs every day and childrens entertainment in the evening-b4 the nights main show begins!!
Another asset is LEWIS--the definition of a barman--friendly ,funny and always in a good mood---!!!
Apartments are a few minutes walk into the nightlife--but far enuff away if u need an early night to recoup--and everything u need is straight across the road at the supermarket--and the most beautiful pizzeria is across the road also if u want to give the kids a treat (and yourself a night off!!!)
What i find is the best point about these apartments tho is the way the pools are divided out so that there is a safe play area for all ages of children--3 different depths of paddling pools for all ages of children and one larger pool for more confident swimmers!!
All in all the perfect family orientated apartment complex for a peaceful family holiday--cant wait to return!!!

My family and i have been to Majorca...

Jun 2008, Mr RW Skinner

My family and i have been to Majorca sevral times but always north of the island. We decided to go to Santa Ponsa on recommendation from freinds. We chose the Grand Santa Ponsa appartments and on booking we requested a quite room due to having a small child. When we arrived we were allocated a room which we thought could not have been in a worst postion directly above the bar and a 5-a-side football pitch at the rear of the apartment directly outsde our daughters bedroom. The first night the obvious noise from the bar continue untill midnight but by keeping the patio door shut the noise was bearable. The secound night was not! not only did we have the bar to contend with but i counted 17 children age from 3 to 14years old playing football/smoking/and fighting untill 1 O'clock in the morning whilst thier parents sat in the bar. I made a complaint to the night porter in reception who did make an effort to clear the children away. The third night the parents of these children thought it was exceptable to let thier children scream and shout whilst playing football until early hours of the morning. In the morning i spoke to my holiday rep and the manager of the appartments and explaind that we requested a quite room due to having a small child and even though we were located above the bar (which we could except) but the children playing until early hours of the morning was not exceplable. I requested a room move however this did not happen, the manager told me that it was the parents fault for not looking after thier children whilst in the bar (Maddie Mc Cann came to mind) and the Holiday Rep told me to identfiy the children and challange the parents. I informed the rep that it was not my job to stand and argue with parents of how to look after thier children. Every night football was played untill early hours of the morning and we could hear children running around the bar area until 3 O'clock one morning. The management and the holiday rep i feel did not do enought to accomadate our request. On a postive note Santa Ponsa was a very nice resort the weather was excellant and my 4 year old enjoyed spending time on the woundefull beach and looking at the green parrots. We would never go back to the same apartment again but we would definitly visit Santa Ponsa again.

it was our 12th visit to the gran santa ponsa appartments in 10 years. my husband and myself both love santa ponsa. the appartments are of of a very good size, bedrooom is very spacious with twin beds and a large fitted wardrobe, cooking area is basic but we managed to do quite a lot of cooking this time. all rooms have a pool view. all the staff at the appartmens are very friendly, el vira and delores on reception will help with any queries, the bar staff are great and mary the entertainer is excellant, brilliant with the children. there's different entertainment every night except saturday's. do visit the aquarium bar which is a few yards down from the appartments, this becomes a local for many whilst on holiday.

we (a family of 4) two teenage sons from England have been to Santa Ponsa 4 times and about to go again in May 08.
We have stayed at the Gran Santa Ponsa 3 times and will be 4 soon. August is very very hot and we will avoid those dates next time, May and October are best if you like early to mid 20's. The Gran Santa Ponsa is like our second home and Mary the entertainer always greets us and says that everytime we see her and she always remembers our lads and how tall they are getting.
The apartments are clean and they all are overlooking the pool. We fit in easy with the supermarket over the road and a larger one further up on the right. Taxi service is great and not far away. 10 min walk to beach and restaurants. Jackies is our favourite and Mrs Murphy's kitchen. We get a taxi which costs 3 euros up to the square for live entertainment which makes a change.
The beach is lovely and water safe with life guards. We have been going to Santa Ponsa since 2004 and is great for families of all ages and I would thoroughly recommend Gran Santa Ponsa, the staff and warm welcome which makes it!

Magnificent - although the holiday rep was as much use as a chocolate teapot the staff at the hotel were superb with nothing too much trouble. The complex is very clean and the rooms were comfortable (shame the aircon isn't in the bedrooms but we got round that). Very good supermarket opposite and a nice walk into the main area's where there were some excellent restaurants. Close enough to Magaluf if you wanted to go out at night (may I recommend the superb floodlit crazy golf course) - Water parks only a cheap taxi ride away. All in all the best holiday I have ever had (despite the travel company)

Me and my family have stayed here a few times now; nice location, pool area is spotless, bar staff are sound. Louis is a sound guy and good craic, Angel is dead on too but can be grumpy lol.
Entertainment is good, Mary is great with adults and kids alike. Food is not up to standard though
could improve drinks and snacks are a wee bit pricey, but overall a nice relaxing place.
In town we would call into Flamingoes, the barmaid is from Donegal and is sound, the Celts Well is a must Harry and Vera are very nice. The Shamrock, Durty Nellies and Diceys are the best for entertainment at night. Seans Place is a relaxing place for a quiet pint and for breakfast Scrumpy Jos do wee snacks cheap and very friendly people. Beach is class, overall a nice resort.

We have just returned from a weeks...
8 / 10
Sep 2007, Miss K Tickle

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at these apartments. I had read all kinds of reports about them: too small, very basic. Our party was 3 adults and 1 child we found the space adequate, and had all the things we required for our morning coffee and preparation of our lunchtime snack.
The apartments were very clean, the pool area immaculate, and all the public areas clean and fresh.
The pool was large and sectioned off into several different depth areas so something for everyone - we only used the pool once as we prefer the beach, which was beautiful.
A long beach, the sea gently shelving and roped off into areas, so if you were swimming you would not get in the way of the pedaloes or boats. There is also a lifeguard on duty who whistles if you are in the wrong area and points you over to the swimming area. The lifeguards also provided a chair which was utilised by people with handicaps and allowed them into the sea to enjoy theirselves, a lovely touch I felt. If you had had long enough in the sun the lovely promenade behind the beach allowed you to have a stroll and watch the parakeets flying between the pine trees or feeding off the ground. Surprise photo opportunity - I'm sure lots of people received texts with the birds on!
The resort centre has more than enough restaurants to suit every taste, from the very reasonably prices set menus to more expensive a la carte. We did not venture into the Irish quarter at night, lots of bars and clubs, but not our cup of tea.
We had a super family holiday and in this resort you could be as busy or laid back as you like... we prefer being laid back.

Been back nearly a week, and am...

Sep 2007, Miss RB Hughes

Been back nearly a week, and am really missing this place. To sum it up 'It felt like home!'
Apartment - Big enough for us, 3 Adults and 1 child. Great having both bath and shower. Kitchenette was small but for quick meals it was sufficient. Air-con worked and was often well needed! We were on ground floor, had nice view of pool, we had bushes in front so it was private enough. Maid service to clean every day apart from Weds and Sunday. Change of towels 3 times a week. Our maid was lovely, always cheerful. A bit of noise from our next door neighbours on the 2nd week, and from apartment above but nothing major.
Complex - The pool was fantastic. Always enough room, 4 sections catering from babies to the swimmers. Lilos etc were left from previous people so no need to buy. Lifeguard on from 1030 till 1930 everyday and he was quite vigilant.
Entertainment - Kids club was there, Mary the entertainer was in every day and night except Sat. Really nice lady. She organised kiddie disco, quiz, bingo, paella making, BBQ etc. We also had a Magician, Hypnotist, Rod Stewart tribute night, Snake visit, and great shows!
Bar- the bar staff/waiters were very friendly. You could have a laugh with them, and they often remembered what you order! Prices were ok, apart from meals and ice-creams which were a bit steep. There was a TV showing Sky Sports, however it was not very big. Also, there was one women’s WC in the complex, so there was usually a queue which meant we often went back to our apartment and used our WC as this was quicker.
Location - quiet area, but only about 3min walk into centre. About 10min to Irish bars. Supermarket across road, 1 min literally, or come out of complex, turn right and walk 3mins to Caprabo which was a massive supermarket.
Places to recommend - The Square which had entertainment most nights (about half an hour walk but shops on way to break it up), Western Waterpark, Jackie’s Restaurant on beach front, Mrs Murphy’s Kitchen near Irish Bars, Bobby’s and Madison’s in quiet end towards Marina, Scott’s in Shopping Arcade- great homemade food, The Watering Hole as it had a pool in the day, The Golf Bar (above Jewellers near big round about) which had happy hour 9-11pm as well as the cheapest internet access.
All in all, fab holiday, and looking to go back next year, this time with 10 of us!

To start with we arrived at the...
5 / 10
Sep 2007, Miss L O Reilly

To start with we arrived at the resort at 5.00am. I was first off the bus and into reception to ask could I get a pool view room - most of the rooms are pool view - the porter on gave us the key to our apt (no.121). It was the worst possible apt in the resort - we were looking out onto a main road and it had steps up the side of our apt from the main road, also from past experience in a apt at the end of a row I just didn’t feel safe. So at 5.30am, myself and my boyfriend headed back down to reception after having a conversation on the phone with reception and was told we would have to wait until 7am until the woman on reception started work- omg she was really abrupt so finally about 7.30 am they gave us a different apt which we were really grateful for - at this stage all we wanted to do was sleep as we were knackered... Got up to the apt to find the air-con was broke and the room was like a sauna so I was half terrified to request to get it fixed and also too tired so we just went to bed.
It was a big family holiday and my sisters and their kids had lovely pool view rooms (lucky ones) ha.
The apts are pretty small and definitely not comfortable for more than 2 adults. Food at the pool bar was quiet nice, and I must say the kid’s entertainment was excellent. My nieces and nephews had a ball. So thanks to Mary!!! The lads working in the pool bar were really nice too and always very friendly. You more or less always locate a sun bed there was a big group of us and we all managed to get a sunbed most days.
Super market across the road with basics, much larger supermarket to the right when you come out of the resort it’s literally 5 mins walk, also a fresh bakery on the way to the supermarket lovely fresh rolls and so many tempting cakes!!!!
Pubs and clubs about 10-15 mins walk, and the entertainment in the "square" is excellent for all ages its all open air with Westlife, Take that, Robbie Williams etc tributes on every night ... You just have to visit there one night.
The pirate show is also an outstanding performance and again is something I would highly recommend going to see. Ask your rep about booking it up. We paid 59euro per adult and 35euro per child-money well spent, food and drink included soft drinks, wine, sangria and obviously every other drink at reasonable prices.
Any one from Ireland who smokes 'John Player Blue', they actually sell them in 1 tobacco shop over there 200 cigs for 31 euro!!! Enjoy!!!!!!!! :):)
