We have just spent 7 wonderful days at the Jutlandia in Santa Ponsa. The only downside was that our tour operator sold us a 2 bed apartment which they do not have and so 2 of my kids had to sleep on sofa. However the complex and entertainment more than made up for it. I... more

Got a last minute deal on Travelrepublic for £14 a head, £28 per room per night for both. Thought we'd got a brilliant deal, but when we saw the state of the rooms and the broken tiles everywhere we weren't so sure. The walls are paper thin and there is absolutely no... more

Great Family Holiday
We stayed here from 14-28 July myself, my partner and our 2 children 6 & 3. Lovely apartments, ok size and all look out on to the pool area. Only 5 min walk to the beach which was very nice, but only went twice in 2 weeks because the kids prefered to stay by the pool, but to do that I had to get up at 8:30 so we could get a sunlounger, as you're not allowed to reserve beds with towels (which alot of people were, but the towels were removed by the lifeguard). A 10 min walk will take you a little further to Santa Ponsa Town loads of bars and resturants plenty to choose from, the kids favourite was Burlington Berties which as childrens club with lots of toys and games. The Square was about 15-20 min walk also good for the kids, but we only went there twice as there is plenty to do round this end and also the entertainment at the Jutlandia was good. Chris the entertainer was great, the kids loved him, never forgets there names, various activities during the day i.e. shuffle board, clay modelling, tshirt painting, french bouls, pizza making, water polo. Also activities for the adults such has football, rifle shooting, archery, water polo. Night time entertainment also organised by Chris was mini disco for the kids with party games, bingo, and then a different show every night. Never really eat at the Jutlandia thought it was expensive also service was a bit slow at times, but plenty to choose from in Santa Ponsa, resturants should try is Crocodillos which can be really busy so recommend you reserve a table. Bobbys 5 mins up from Crocodillos is great for nice cheap meal, set menu, starter, main, and icecream for 9.50Euro, great value for money. Didn't like Fat Sams though. Overall we had a great time in Santa Ponsa and definitley return and most probably to the Jutlandia, but Chris the Entertainer is leaving and I dont think it would be the same without him.
not much fun for couples
We stayed here 23rd June -7th July 07 and were very pleased with the location it was perfect for us.We stayed in B251 on the 3rd floor and were quite dissapointed that the apartment was so dated, although it appeared to be clean we had cobwebs in the bedroom which stayed with us for the whole fortnight and ants just about everywhere including coming out of the bath taps!.To the rear of the apartment had views of the laundry and from the balcony had a view of cranes a building site and a large tree hiding the pool bar.We didnt manage to get a sunbed by the pool in any of the time we were there because although it is not allowed to reserve them,by 7.30am there were never any left.I suppose the evening entertainment was ok for kids but nothing going on for couples. We were told the pool bar sold water for the same price as the shops ,we paid 3euros for 2 small bottles but later got the same for just over 1 euro at the supermarket .Dont take advice from reps to eat at crocodillos(they must be on commision) it is very over-rated and very expensive.Instead try Kellys on the corner.Between us we can reccomend every meal on the evening menu and the Baileys cheesecake and raspberry pavlova are to die for but the breakfast wasnt too good.We had many full english breakfasts at Grannys just at the other side of the bay.Sherazade is also good if you fancy nice barbeque meat overlooking the sea and watching the sunset. But stay clear of Fat Sams unless you want ripping off, again over priced and over rated.Just opposite Kellys is Churchills bar where you will find a really friendly bunch of Brits running the place. They dont do food but there is always a good atmosphere and you can watch soaps and films while enjoying a good pint.By the middle of week 2 the yobs had moved in opposite us and made there presence felt shouting and swearing and throwing there litter over the balcony. We did have a great time in Santa Ponsa and may return but definately not back to Jutlandia. We paid a hell of a lot for this holiday through Panorama and feel totally robbed,we never saw our rep once and ended up booking our trips with the First Choice Rep!!!.There wasnt even a rep on our transfer back to Palma airport luckily the coach driver spoke quite good english.
really great location
We loved the Jutlandia. It was away from any noise, but near to the beach and excellent restaurants. Santa Ponsa is a really nice resort. The beach is lovely. It was very clean and the air conditioning was a bonus. I would recommend this to anyone.
Very nice place
Me and my family stayed here from the 26th May to the 02nd June. There where 5 of us and we booked 2 apartments. We arrived at 12.30am on Sunday morning. We checked in and we were staying at Apartments C122 & C123.They were at the far end of the complex and we had to drag all our suitcases along. We had the middle floor apartments and the stairs is the only way up.Overall the apartments are very nice.Beds are comfortable, aparments good enough size. The pool was huge,it had 2 parts to it.There were loads of sunbeds avalable too.The place is very wheelchair friendly with ramps everywhere. The entertainment was ok but should have more adult entertainment than the kids which is on all the time.Overall i loved these apartments. oh and here are some good resturants and pubs to go to. Restaurants: Kelly's on the corner-really nice with friendly staff. When i was there if you bought the main course you get the desert and the starter free. Jackieys-good views of the beach and really nice food Pubs: The shamrock-great music also would recomend aqualand magaluf for a great day out
Great for families
We stayed at the Jutlandia in June of this year. The apartments were basic but very clean. There is no t.v in any of the apartments. The pool area is very large with plenty of sunbeds. There is also a park for the children and football court. We also thought that it was safe for kids as ours were able to go to the park by themselves while we were on our balcony. The entertainment provided by Chris was excellant - daytime and evening activities/entertainment. He made the holiday enjoyable for our 2 children (ages 10 and 7). Food and drink was a bit on the expensive side especially soft drinks. Also if it was busy service was a little slow. There is also a kids club across the road at the Plazamar Apartments which is on every morning and afternoon and is free. There are also laundry facilities there as well. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would go again.
jutlandia, santa ponsa experiance
Stayed at the Jutlandia apts from 5th to 19th June 07 with my wife and two young children aged 3 and 5. The Jutlandia is a lovely complex and is situated in a quiet area of Santa Ponsa. but you need to be aware of a few things. (1) There are three story apartments,we were allocated an apartment on the top floor, there are no lifts, the stairs are narrow and steep. (2) The apartments are well kitted out, toaster, kettle, microwave, fridge, aircon etc.The bedroom is a good size. However, the living space area is small, and the balcony is an necessity. The apartments are very clean and the cleaners very friendly. Entertainment at the complex is organised by Chris,a very jovial lad who is excellent at creating a warm family atmosphere at the complex. .The young kids are very fond of him as he has a nack of meeting them once and will know there names for life. There is no organised activities specifically geared for Teenagers, and alot of them seemed to be at a loose end, this needs to be addressed by the hotel. There is variety of activities.eg shuffle board; arts &crafts;waterpolo;football, french boul for 4 to 12 year olds. morning programme is from 11am to 12pm afternoon programme from 2pm to 2.30 Adults programme consisted of football; waterpolo;rifle shooting: archery. this took place from 3pm to 4pm. In the evening there is a kids disco from 8.30 to 9pm with Chris playing games with the kids, they all really enjoy this. Then the Bingo at 9.45 to 10.15.I know the dreaded bingo,it was very popular with adults and kids.At 10.30 The local Cabaret act.Snakes;parrots;dance acts Karoke.Hypnotists. this rotated for the 2 weeks we stayed. Overall we had a wonderful stay at the Jutlandia. I would like to mention a few restaurants we tried. 2 bad and 1 excellent. THE BAD tHE MOST OVERATED PLACE IN SANTA PONSA "CROCADILLO'S"!! this was a good restaurant when we visited two years ago but boy have they gone down hill. It only survives,in my opinion now, on the reps promoting it,you visit once and once only .We where very disappointed on our return and for there very poor attitude to customer service. FAT SAM'S: If you like everything deep fried and burnt ,then this is the place for you..This was the worst and most expensive food we ate.If you want American food,go to Mc Donalds !We tried it and it was very good and a hell of alot cheaper. THE BEST KEPT SECRET IN SANTA PONSA KELLY'S ON THE CORNER! An absolute gem,THE FOOD IN THIS RESTAURANT WAS FANTASTIC!!1
OK as a base
Me and my boyfriend said here from 19th May - 26th May 2007. Firstly the good bits: The apartments inside where fine, when I read reviews saying they where basic I was expecting the worse but have to say was quite impressed. Have quite a large selection of cutlery, utensils, crockery and pots and pans etc. We pretty much had fresh towels everyday which was good and bins changed everyother day i believe. Nice short walk to the main resort about 5mins or so. Bad bits: If you don't have children or don't like children not a good idea to go here - i tried to sit by the pool twice and got spashed by children loads of times which is fine but not when you sunbathing and read and wanting to chill. Also the walls are very thin! Could here well... lets say everything. Worse bits: For me was the fact the entertainment was really loud and went on til quite late 12am-1am - again which is ok but we had early trips organised so was a pain! Also again the entertainment is a bit "Butlins/Pontins" which if you like that cool or have children perfect - but I wouldn't recommend it for couples or anything. If it's a group of friends probably wouldn't bother you as will be clubbing til 4am anyway :) Top Places to Eat (excuse the spellings!) The Portfino Hotel did the best Paella and Sangria foe 20 euros for two people! The Shernaz opposite: Right on the harbour and reasonable price - do loads of BBQ meats?! Other tip make sure you walk (it's isn't far) to the big Supermarket think it's called Capello or something you'll see it on your way in - sooooooooooo much cheaper than the other little ones. And last little tip - don't bother going on the half day excusion to the market and festival park... the festival park is rubbish!!! Market is ok so get a bus there and back yourself and save yourself 20 euros each!
would return
really enjoyed our stay at the Jutlandia. were there for a fortnight & it flew in! drinks/ice cream onsite same as home or dearer. food onsite just ok but pricey. entertainment provided by Chris for both adults/kids was very good & shows at night were above average. staff deserve lot of credit for their hard work/efficency & approachability. no tv in room which can be + or - depending on your opinion. otherwise apartments were comfortable & practical. poolside area well maintained & lifeguard on duty at all times with generally safe feeling about the site. most suitable for families & would not hesitate to return!
Great place to stay
Went with my wife for an early season getaway (3rd -10th May 07), We were delighted with the apartment, lounge/diner bath & bedroom, all good size rooms (newly painted),very clean, comfortable beds (new mattress). welcome pack in fridge f.o.c. excellent maid service. Four section pool, very attractive gardens. Large covered al fresco eating area, adequate menu. Lots of entertainment mainly aimed at families. Situated on the best side of the bay away from the 'noise', 50m to the centre. For food try the Rhein, great value. Don't miss the Jaggy Thistle pub- great singer, also ' Everley night ' at the Rovers Return.
stay here
the jutlandia was lovely..it was my first time abroad so i was plaesed when i arrived to see friendly staff, clean appartments and a gorgeous swimming pool.i stayed here for a week with my friends and we said we would def return....altho a double bed would have been nice!!! the place was so nice we spent our first 3 days lying at the pool i would recommend these appartments for any type of group, well maybe its not suitable for a big group of clubbers as there are a lot of families. good entertainment. overall a great holiday...wud recomend
