Submitted By: J & B AlexanderIn common with others, our niggles are only minor - but with plenty of hot water at all times of the day or night, comfortable beds and clean sheets changed regularly and with spacious rooms - we’re happily relaxed before heading back.
So, the niggles? Hotel a bit jaded around the edges (would have a higher star rating if it were given a bit of modernisation), sleeping area is darkly sinister, restaurant staff seem to be there for the money and a bit android. In fact, no coffee at dinner was another niggle, as was the repetitiveness of the menu - but then again we simply chose to eat out, and away from the dinner crush on occasion. Yes, mostly Dutch, Germans and Spanish - but we’re in a foreign country!
Yes, the evening entertainment was crass (I just didn’t get the Dutch miming contest?), but nip into a nearby hotel and see the Platters Revisited (excellent) or down to the Roma at the beach for Elvis every night (also excellent). Oh, and don’t avoid the drag shows either - I found myself enjoying that more than my workmates might be comfortable with!
Reception staff were very good and helpful from our original welcome to our departure, offering us a late check out room at no extra cost. Special mention for the absolutely superb spa - this alone would take us back here - the best Spanish one in a hotel that we’ve come across.

Submitted By: Mrs S KingThe food was very good, lots of choice - we would suggest you upgrade to All Inclusive as we did when we got to the hotel - well worth it when you have two children with you. However, a bit disappointing when some people were NOT All Inclusive and were not being charged for drinks etc - especially when we had paid extra for the upgrade.
The pool area was very clean and well maintained. It was great to see the hotel staff removing towels off sunbeds if they had not been used within an hour of putting towels out. The towels were removed and taken back to the Reception desk. This was a good way of stopping people hogging the beds. A very good holiday but the entertainment needs addressing as outside it was a combination of two men and a couple singing the same songs every night - a little boring.
We had a great holiday and would definitely go back to the hotel - but could do with thinking about air conditioning in the rooms.

Submitted By: Mrs S RosinskiWhen arriving we were met by pleasant receptionist who explained where to go also what time breakfast was.
The room was very clean very spacious. The hotel also provided a bus to and from beach.
Entertainment was also very good, varied every night with children’s hour at 7pm daily.
It really is a very good hotel to go, if considering going to Gran Canaria.

Submitted By: Mrs C StandishHotel itself, very well maintained, could not believe it is only a 3 star! Food was exceptional, caters well for all, chef does come out and cook steaks/chicken/pork in front of you so you know its fresh and hot!!
All inclusive you can have wine beer water etc, and the desserts are to die for, good job there is a pool and wellness centre to burn those calories off,.
As with any multinational hotel, yes there are German’s and Dutch...and its free for all, they do have a policy of not pre slapping a towel on the sunbeds, but quite frankly, there are spaces left, and as a true Brit, we do sunbathe all day, so most Europeans do go in, so you can change seats...but it’s all great fun...
Entertainment I found very good, lots fire eating, dancing acrobats, though as we were there 2 weeks we saw it twice, kids night is much like most hotels, kiddie dancing, karaoke, etc... but there’s enough 4 every 1, big fun fair 5 min walk to left of hotel, water park, camel sanctuary, sand dunes, boat trips...it goes on.
This is by far one of our very best holidays, and we are so excited about going...we met many English families and got very drunk most nights, but hey...hair of the dog sorted that out LOL
We saw 2 cockroaches, which my son stamped on...and every 1 fell about laughing, staff are amazing, friendly, bear in mind there working 16 + hours, and always have the time of day for you, recommended highly...anyone that goes, should be very happy...oh...suggest u get a taxi.. From airport, cheaper, quicker and yr unpacked down in bar before coach load arrives...it’s about 40euros, have paid 25 before...just shop around.

Submitted By: Miss R BroadheadWe stayed there on a half board basis but we were going up to get drinks and the staff weren’t charging us - bonus!
The wellness centre was wonderful especially went it was over cast in the morning.
We didn’t stay in the hotel on an evening but we heard the music whilst getting ready to go out and it was German and Dutch based. The German and Dutch were very rude and stare as if you can’t see that they are looking at you, and try to walk through you.
The reception staff were very helpful but restaurant staff didn’t speak much. The swimming pool and gardens are kept very clean and tidy and the sun loungers were very comfortable especially on the top deck.
The restaurant was very clean but by the end of the week we were a bit fed up with the combinations of the food and glad we didn’t have to put up with it for two weeks.
The Germans certainly lived up to their reputation with regards to the sunbeds, towels were on the beds from 6.50am onwards, but there was a sign up saying it wasn’t allowed.
The rooms were very well equipped and spacious, maybe a bit dated but very clean, and tidy and maid made the bed every day and clean towels if you needed them.
Lovely views of the hotel grounds from every room, all in all this hotel was lovely to stay at as long as you don’t mind rude Germans, that was the only thing we didn’t like.

Submitted By: Mr P KorthOn arriving at our rooms these were clean but basic disappointed that we only had a ceiling fan and no air conditioning, temp average for the week was 33c topping 38c one day, when I asked the manager why no air con his answer was " it's winter", this was very unbearable at night.
Like other reviews the hotel was full of Germans and Dutch people at times I found this very over powering.
There is 1 main restaurant which served breakfast, lunch and dinner which up to 2 days before we were coming home was clean, food was good, some nights better than others
Until we saw cockroaches around the desert area put us off somewhat, to the staff it did not seam a problem, they just carried on doing their job.
There was a pool bar which was good served light snacks during the afternoon, there is another large bar in the grounds which also serves food this we found was the best food
On the complex but it was only available between 13.00hrs and 15.00hrs.
Gardens were very nice clean and tidy well kept, this was where the evening entertainment was, nothing special but two people banging out the same songs every night of the week got a bit boring, more chairs and tables needed in this area, there was some over shows going on in the hotel but the stage was so small you could not get near it.
Most of the staff were pleasant there was the odd one or two that would not give you the time of day but I suppose you get that anywhere.
Pool area was very good a good children’s pool is also there. The thing I did find very strange the hotel allowed dogs in the rooms and around the pool, on one occasion we saw a person putting a towel in the pool and wipe her dog with it, she done this on 3 occasions very unhygienic.
I gave this an overall rating of 7 I think if they addressed the points I have pointed out I probably would have given a 9.

Submitted By: Mrs S ButlerRooms are spacious consisting of a separate sleeping area with 2 large comfortable single beds, a bathroom with a small bath with shower (and constant hot water). The living area has a comfy wicker type sofa and chair, a table and 2 dining type chairs. A large balcony with table and chairs overlook the pool and gardens.
TV programs in English were CNN, BBC World, Sky News, Sky Movies 1. There is also a fridge, a safe (10 euros deposit and 15 euros charge)There is also piped music. Plenty of storage space too.
I would recommend asking for a room above the 5th floor. The up side is the views are wonderful (we had views of the sea to the left and the hills to the right)The down side is the wait for the lifts (4 fairly small lifts).
Lets deal with this German issue! YES, there are lots of Germans (and Dutch and Spanish) but I have to say that it made no difference whatsoever in any service given by the staff.
We stayed half board and the food was outstanding. I really cannot understand how anyone can complain. There was such a variety available....
e.g Breakfast - bacon, 3 types of sausage, fried eggs, 2 types of scrambled egg, 3 and 5 minute boiled eggs(yes there was a choice!)5 cereals, dried fruit and nuts, sliced cheeses and meat, salad, onions, mushrooms, sliced potatoes, omelettes, pancakes, 4 types of sliced bread, morning rolls, 5 fruit juices, fresh fruit, choice of sweet pastries or croissants....Get the idea!
Dinner was just as impressive with a nightly choice of several fish, beef and pork dishes (lamb, rabbit and veal too) Vegetarians had a massive choice too. Each night there were three themed dishes from a country (China, Peru, Britain, Germany etc)
To work off the calories (I'm not going to say quite how much weight I put on over the 2 weeks I was there) there is a well equipped gym. The swimming pool is deep and long (cleaned daily and regularly checked too) There is a shallow children’s pool as well. The Vital Wellness centre is well worth a visit. You will get a free visit for 2 hours to check it out. Hot pool with jet streams, Jacuzzi, 2 saunas, relaxing room, massage....lovely.
Each day there is a list of activities happening in the hotel. These will range from fitness in the gym, water polo, archery, tennis, pool, table tennis etc. At lunch on the terrace there is usually a dance troupe/ music group and in the evenings on the terrace a singer. In the bar there is the nightly entertainment too (magician, dance etc)
I know I've gone on a bit but there is so much to recommend here.
English centre (Gran Chaparral) 3 minutes walk
Yumbo centre 10 minutes walk max
Bella vista centre 10 minutes walk
beach 20 walk
Taxis plentiful and cheap (regulated and metered so no chance of being ripped off)
Cash machines all over the place.

Submitted By: Miss L MarksThe hotel gives you a chance to go all inclusive whilst you are there which we did and it is only 15 euros per day which is worth it if you are going to stay in the hotel alot, plus you seem to get treated a lot better by the staff.
Entertainment at night is ok but it is good as good as it is made out to be in the brochures.
I would recommend the hotel the rooms are very big and clean and the maids come everyday. The hotel is not that close to the beach but there is a free bus that comes to the hotel. Close to all the nightlife too but not too close that you cannot get away from it.
Submitted By: Not SpecifiedThe only thing that was disappointing was the night entertainment it was the same nearly every night and mostly the guests are German and Dutch not very much English there.
They cater mainly for these not much choice of food for the English.
We were woken up early in morning due to work going on in the corridors they were replastering.
The town were the hotel is based there is not much activity around but the beach is lovely and there is a free bus from the hotel and back again.

Submitted By: Mr C HooleActivities like football, volleyball, darts, water polo, crazy golf etc. every day around the pool. Hotel is mostly English, Dutch, Belgian and a few Germans, but I found all to be friendly.

Happy Hour twice every night at the hotel bar where all drinks are 2 for 1. We really enjoyed this holiday and are seriously considering going back this year.
The reception staff were extremely helpfull and spoke very good English and accomodated our every request. Thank you.
Rooms were of a very good size and they were cleaned daily and to a good standard.
Food in the restaurant was excellant and varied, with food available at the pool snack bars, ( from 11.00 - 4.00) suitable for all of our party.
Ice creams were available from the outside bar and no limit was set on how many were asked for. All bar staff work extremely hard on the pool bars and the selection of drinks is excellant also.
The entertainment was the main reason for the score of 8 out of 10. The daytime enterntainment was very limited, (and not particularly in English) you had to really hunt it out, and the evening entertainment was inside!!!! The outside entertainment - A duo who played each night in a 'summer house' with a tamborine and keyboard, were not really disco!! and not really sure what?
Most guests are Dutch but this was fine as most speak English, so not a problem.
The curtesy bus to the beach was excellant and always on time and they local shops and bars were also good value and within easy walking distance of the hotel.
