We have just returned from a two week stay at the Nefeli the location was perfect not to close to the busy main street but within easy walking distance to the many restaurants and bars.
We enjoyed excellent food and service from all the restaurants we visited.
We could not fault the welcome and hospitality given by the brothers at the Nefeli nothing was to much trouble they even toasted our bread in the morning for us to take back and eat in our spotlesly clean apartment. The garden is beautiful as is the song of the canary which hangs in the garden.
We particularly pleased by the fact that within a 5 minute walk we could catch a ferry across to Toledos for 2euro`s and their were various other taxi boats at reasonable prices. The bus stop was also only a few minutes walk and the Nefeli gave us a copy of the bus timetable once again the cost was reasonable and times and destinations good.

This was our fourth stay on Kalymnos and our third at the Nefeli. As the previous reviewer said, you are treated like good friends rather than customers.
Since last year air conditioning has been added, there is a safe and hairdryer in the rooms and washing up liquid and a plug in for bugs are provided.
Basic the rooms may be but also well cared for, freshly decorated and cleaned every day except Sunday. The Kardoulias family are always available and willing to help wherever possible, booking taxis, checking the weather and ferry times for your return journey etc etc as well as giving local information and tips for where to go and visit.
The garden is beautiful and a wonderful, peaceful place to while away the time when the weather is just too hot to sunbathe.
The Nefeli do fabulous cocktails and some snacks but there are a variety of tavernas within easy walking distance, we haven't had a bad meal yet although some are obviously better than others. Try the Themis and Smugglers, both a stones throw to the left of the Nefeli. For fish the Drosia is a few minutes round the corner, say hello to Janni the parrot. Then up the hill and along the main road towards Massouri our favorites include the Argo, The Archepelago and The Agean. Across the water to Telendos try On the Rocks for a warm welcome and good food.
If you want value for money whilst enjoying the friendly Greek hospitality in a relaxing atmosphere, Kalymnos and the Nefeli are certainly worth a try.

The island of Kalymnos is really like going back in time. the original chill out place where the pace of life is very very slow and traditionally Greek. The Nefeli Studios are in small residential area just minutes from the local beach with the main beach being a little further away. the resort centre which small is only minutes walk away and you will find a few Tavernas to eat out under the stars each evening. Friendly and hospitable owners we felt more like friends than guests. The rooms themselves can best be described as basic but comfortable, typically Greek!!. We found the locals extremely welcoming and it was like turning the clock back 20 years, commercialism has hit the island yet.
