" disgusting "

having read the bad reports about the argyri annex, not the appartments i was very cautious about booking there, but i booked it anyway online with thomas cook and double checking with them asking NOT to be put in the annex.so arriving at 3 in the morning and shown to our room in the annex we were more than fed up.the rooms are small and not much works in them.we booked the apartments for self catering and they cant be used for that.there are no table and chairs for you sit at to eat a meal,1knife 3 forks 2 odd plates and thats it.the shower was broke, the toilet didnt flush, sheets and towels changed twice in 2weeks you cant cook a meal because there is no room to cook it on as you have to plug in a 2 ring cooker on the sink and use it there.to be honset it was more like faulty towers but not funny.this place is the worst ive ever stayed in and would not recomend it to no one,we are now in the process suing thomas cook over this fiasco so if i was you dont book this place unless you like having your holliday ruined,

Advice: kardamena is a great place, dont be put off by my report there are loads of beautiful hotels,

Activities: alexanders,adelphi,and annas.

" a pleasant suprise! "

Our holiday began with worries which were generated by some not so pleasant reading on this reveiw page. However as soon as we arrived the hotel owner (not the 'bogey man' as described)greeted us and promptly gave us the key to our self catering apartment. The rooms were clean and basic but fresh and comfortable. Our arrival time was early hours yet the staff went out of their way to organise our air conditioning that morning so we could be comfy. The main areas of the hotel were pretty and always clean & tidy. The pool was a good size and yes it was 2 euros...but you pay more at the beach!! Hotel staff were warm and friendly but obviously had times when they had to be very firm (but fair) with the younger folk on their holidays ( 17/18 yrs) to ensure guests had a pleasant time without disruptions from their antics. Our only gripe about the hotel is that there was a flury of P.R people and reps from bars who 'took over' the pool and were a touch to loud & bad mouthed for our liking..perhaps the hotel/bar manager might consider having a word???
Thankyou for a lovely time!

Advice: Bar street is noisy and not our cup of tea yet folk are friendly and drinks are expensive

Activities: The beach was lovely and sea clean. we enjoyed Avli..great food, good price!

" BEST Holiday ever! "

Me and seven friends (all girls) went to Kos on holiday after finishing out A-level exams. It was the best holiday we have been on! The staff at the Argyri were really helpful and friendly and fun! Also all of the workers from the bars were really nice and seeing them in the day aswell was fun!
Although the cooking facilities were limited (a microwave and a hot plate type thing and fridge) we could make everything we needed...ie pasta!
The rooms were nice and clean. we were in the annex which was quite basic but they were good :) they were also set out so it was easy to talk to all the other rooms with the balconies facing the other rooms. Also it was really near the pool which had a good bar and was fun! Only a seconds walk from the beach and bar street too!
The night life was fantastic. The bars all employ english workers who are paid to sit and chat to you and this makes it more interesting! They were all lovely! Good clubs too..highly recommend the UV night at status and the foam party at Starlight!
All i can say is that we all came home over a month ago and still really miss it!! It really was the best holiday! Ignore the bad reviews because there was nothing bad about the holiday!
Enjoy!

Advice: Small but good for all types!

Activities: Status club...crossroads bar!

" our stay at the hotel "

I went on a couples holiday with my fiancee and we had a great time but wouldnt go back to kos there was no entertainment in the hotel except music at night.
The rooms wer very basic and not that clean to be honest and it seemed like everything was broken including the matress which we went to switch n relised it was burnt write through!! i was not pleased neither was my fiancee.
Secondly the pool was lovely but a nightmare we were there the whole week and not once did we get in the pool because it was a shower of young boys and girls as young as 15!!!! on holiday on theyr own with theyr friends getting served what ever alchohol they wanted which horified me because we are parents.
Thirdly it was very noisy durin the day and at night it was like a play ground n a sea of young school kids that were drinking.
Fouthly the staff were nice but thought they wer hard men may be in greece they are but not were i come from quite unplesant unless you are spending money!
I will say that the food in the hotel was lovely as i new this because it is cooked in front of you.
Back to the rooms the maids did not come and clean or take out the bins for 3 days which i thought was disgusting the towels could rip your skin they were that hard and the sheets were curtains im sure!
so all in all me and my fiancee defo would not go bk 2 the hotel or kos but would defo go somewere else in greece.

" Hotel bit of a con  "

Weather great,Kos beautiful island would go there again. But not to this hotel, we went bed and breakfast, bit of a con because unless you want orange juice, boiled egg with toast and a CUP of tea or coffee every day you have to choose off the menu and pay!!!! They will let you think that their being generous and you only pay half price but it's cheaper to go down the road. Drinks at the hotel are expensive and yes you do have to pay for the sun loungers which is also a bit of a cheek. Room very basic and yes ants on the floor, you also hear every noise you're neighbours make so ear plugs recommended. Don't get me wrong beautifull island good water sports on the beach just wrong hotel.

" Went there with a group of 8 lads n... "

Went there with a group of 8 lads n had a quality time. 22 hour bar, nice pool/bar/rooms/view and perfect accomodation - restaurant literally next door and newsagent opposite, a few hundred metres away from bar street n the beach but far enough away tht if you want a quiet night there's no noise (not that we ever did) didn't have any complaints about the place at all, always a friendly atmosphere. can't believe people said there was fighting there. would definately recommend it to anyone. although we were told to keep it down on a few occassions when we weren't being that loud but it's understandable with families staying there. Overall, it was a quality holiday that I wouldn't change at all - particularly the hotel.

" First of the hotle looked great, half... "

First of the hotle looked great, half decent view from the balcony, clean rooms etc.. but then things took a turn for the worse, we discover that all the beds are too small, the place is filthy, theres ants all over the kitchen and bedrooms. You pay for 30 euros for the aircon and it doesnt even cool the room down, just acts like a pathetically crap fan.

Next we come to the pool, its a nice pool but 2 euros just to use the sunbeds at your own hotel is a bit shit. Then theres the drinks prices at the bar, extortionate, and you can bring outside drinks into the pool area so if you want water you have to buy if from them at 1 euro for 500ml when you can go down the road and get 6x1.5litre bottles of 2 euros.

Finally the staff, they're nice when you're spending money and that is the only time. The owner himself is a violent short tempered man. We were sitting on our balcony at 5am talking to the guy on the balcony next to us quite quietly when suddenly we hear a knock at out door (luckily it was locked) then a loud crash next door, we see our neighbour get up and ask whats going on, the owner start insulting him saying stuff like, "I f****d your mother", etc.. then he threatened to throw our neighbour of the balcony so our neighbour said he'd be done for murder, the next thing we know the owner grabbed our neighbour by the neck and threw him to the ground across a table and two chairs, to be fair he could have just asked us to be quiet and go inside because there is no reason whats so ever that the owner should attack a guest.

the second display of violence and aggression from our owner is on the last night someone walked passed our door and must have punched it or something as it left a hole in the front skin of the door, the next day we tell the guy at reception about it and he says that we are going to have to pay, which we thought it right out of order but we thought it would only cost a little bit to fill the hole and paint over it. The receptionist comes back and says its going to cost 300 euros to fix, and now after a lads holiday we didnt have that kind of money left so we refuse to pay, then the owner starts shouting and threatening again so we try to scrap together as much as we could. We got 200 euros together which we thought was resonable for just a repair, even if a new door was needed it would not cost 300 euro, it wouldnt even cost 200. But again he starts shouting and threatening us a again and by this time we just want to get on our flight home so we have to find some other mates and borrow whatever they had left to pay for it.

All in all it started good but ended shit thanks to very very poor management.
I love kos but hate Argyri hotel, will never go back there again, absolute shit!

(Sorry about the length, i just had alot to say)

" We have stayed at the Argyri, twice a... "

We have stayed at the Argyri, twice a year June + september for the last 6yrs and have
always enjoyed staying there. The rooms are spacious and the decor is of a good standard, althought the bathroom facilities could do with some modernisation, ie: a shower curtain at the least and better drainage. the rooms are cleaned to a good standard, although a change of bed linen and towels doesn't always happen when it should, ask the cleaners and they are always happy to oblige. the pool and poolside are of a good size and are kept clean, but expect to pay for the sunbeds as this is open to non residents as well, usually 2euros per day. they have the facilities of a pool table and computers and a spacious lounge area.they have a small well stocked bar with satalite tv. we have spent many happy hours in there with Alexi the barman,(a true gent) making lots of friends and having great fun. there is a restaurant attached to the hotel, although we have eaten there a couple of times for the short distance it is to walk in to the village, you would be better trying one of the restaurants there. All the staff at the Argyri are always friendly and polite with specials mentions to Dimitri and once again Alexi. can't wait to see you all in June 2008. I recommend to everyone.

" Hello,

I was absolutly... "

Hello,

I was absolutly amazed when we arrived in Kardamena. It really is one of the most striking small towns I have ever put foot on. A sensational Greek island at its best, i say!

I and my significant other spent a week staying in the delightful Argyri Apartments.

I was dumbfounded with the cleanliness of the hotel and the decor of the rooms was very much top notch. For the petty price we paid it was exceptional.

I strongly recommend visiting the pink panther bar, everyone was so jolly and really friendly and the sounds they play until the wee small hours are pure genius.

From the bottom of my heart I would highly recommend a visit to Kardamena and Agyri hotel is an absolute stonking crib!

See you all soon in Kardamena for many years to come.

" Evrywhere was so clean!

Evrywhere was so clean!

I went skinny dipping in the pool and no1 cared, several people joined me!

Thers a mcdonalds 50m away so it felt like i was in heaven!

Best of all was meeting the bar tender, Pedro! He was a great laugh all holiday and even offered us the odd free drink! I'm meeting up with him again when we go this year

I would defnitly reccomend the Argyri apartments. The location is perfect, near the bars and the beaches.

Overall the hotel was very clean and comfortable.

" Hi
there was five of us aged 18... "

Hi
there was five of us aged 18 to 23 looking for a really good lively place to stay and got advised to go to Argyri, it was everything we were expecting quite basic but lively and was great getting to know people round the pool and sunbaving, we met loads of really nice people there who we went out with all the time, hi jamie, graham, choco if your reading. it was geat, people say it was a bit dirty reading other reviews but we thought it was fine, and we are picky. we really wish we could go next year but not sure yet saving now.
in all the holiday was brilliant, night life was fantastic and everyone was really friendly, ideal for our age group we went in july which seemed to be the best time to go. the argyri is right next to bar street its ideal too,

" Kardamena was good as a place, but... "

Kardamena was good as a place, but the Argyri aparthotels were dirty with poor customer services. Our bathroom light was broken on arrival, we reported it straight away and it was not fixed for another 3 nights! Our feet would get black walking from the door to the balcony, we had to find a mop and do it ourselves as the cleaners obviously didn't have a clue how to!
