Having fallen in love with Kardamena back in the 80's - I'd watched these apartments being built. From past experience and having been to Greece many times - I was used to basic accommodation with spasmodic power cuts and cold water - but these were brilliant. The staff were brillaint and very friendly - I only had one plate and one knife in the room (but there was only one of me!) - but they got me another plate and a full set of cuttlery and I only had to ask once. Everything worked - hot water, there was a great view (although being road side I expected some noise from the coaches - it wasn't as bad as I expected) - pleasant walk into the town - great beach and equally brilliant restaurants - not only nearby but in the main resort too. The little mentioned Posidonia, which is just opposite and right on the beach - has the best food in the resort. Couldn't go back in 2010 - but I've booked to go back there in 2011 - can't wait.
- Advice: I couldn't rate the pool because I didn't use it - too close to the beach and the very warm sea!!

I have just returned from 16 nights at the Argyri hotel and had a great time. The hotel is so clean and the staff are so friendly (they can't do enough for you). The hotel does have a few youngsters but if they make too much noise it is sorted out. I had my sheets changed 4 times in 16 days and my towels changed every other day. Try staying at other apartments they are so sub standard compared to this hotel. If you go there say hi to Dimitris, Kostas, Emma and Alexi for me they are lovely.

Me and 3 friends stayed at the Argyri this August. The Argyri was a lovely hotel, we were pleased with our room had all the facilities we needed (fridge for the alcohol, plugs for our hair straightner and iPod speakers, bathroom ect!). Our room was top floor, and we had a lovely view from our balcony!
Staff there made the stay even better!!
Thanks to Emma for being like our mum on the holiday and just in general taking care of us!
Thanks to Lexi for the 5am cocktails and shots! And listening to us drunk messes!
Matt for the general banter! And the other staff were lovely too!!
The pool in the day was buzzing! In such a great location, 2 minute walk to the beach and the bar strip!
Would recommend this hotel for groups of young people out to have a great time in Kos!
See you next year guys!!
Love the Cheeky Essex Girls!

My partner and i (both in our 20s) booked the argyri through thomas cook, CHEERS THEN!!.. We got to the hotel and the man behind reception gave me a key and took my passport as a deposit and put it openly on view for anyone to take where it remained for the whole week!. to be fair the pool and bar area was brilliant but the room was probably the worst place i have ever seen.. the beds were broken the balcony was broken!.. doors broken, shower broken, tiles falling off walls.. and to top that our towels were owened by previous guests!.
kardamena cant be faulted. the bars and restaurants are brilliant as was the beach. the hotel however was awful.
to top it all on the final day we checked out and my partner accidently forgot a jumper that was in the wardrobe so we asked to get it back, they gave us the key we had a look and SHOCK it was gone. they couldnt find it and were rude to my partner which i took personally and got quite annoyed. we went for some food and went back and they had apparently found it mixed up with the laundry??? (even though it was in the wardrobe.) the cleaner at this time was there and when we walked away i turnt round and cought the woman wink to the cleaner!! not happy. GO TO KARDEMENA BUT DO NOT STAY HERE !

We spent 2 weeks at the Argyri at the end of June, we were in a twin room in the Annexe. The location was great, near enough to town but far enough to be away from most of the nightlife noise. The Argyri however seems to be more for an 18-30s style holiday, very noisy at night, doors banging and people shrieking all night.
The room was dirty on arrival (I know our holiday was quite cheap but a basic standard of cleaning would still have been appreciated!!) The facilities were basic but that was to be expected at our holiday price point. However didn't appreciate having to empty a bucket on the balcony every day for the neighbouring room's aircon outflow!
Aircon is 5 Euros a night - expensive if you're there for 2 weeks - and you do need it really, it's hot and the road outside is noisy with scooters and drunks at night if you have the door open.
The sun beds at the pool were free when we were there though. The pool was noisy as there was a UK radio station blasting out so I only spent half an hour there.
Beach up the road to the right of the hotel is lovely. Even the main beach was nice tho much busier.
Good Greek restaurants that we tried are Avli and Yianni's. Also the gyros at Tasty Corner!
The Argyri staff were nice enough. On our last day some lads were having a water and toilet paper fight in the hotel so I guess the staff get a lot to put up with.
All in all not the hotel I would have chosen if I had known, I'm only 31 myself but it was full of 17/18 years olds : if youre looking for a non stop party/boozy holiday location on the cheap do it. If not...definitely dont!
- Advice: Kardamena is a great resort if youre looking to get drunk every night!

have just spent two weeks in argiri in kos and i have no complaints. the staff were all very friendly and although the rooms were very basic its not like we were really in them. they had just stopped charges for the sunbeds when we arrived so that was a plus! i made loads of friends over there and there wasnt a person in the hotel that wasnt up for a laugh, young or old. i can see why people didnt want to stay in the annex though because it was a wee walk away from the actual hotel! i liked that it wasnt right in the middle of the nightlife either. the best restaurant was definetly captains however the owner of this place was a little creepy haha. i would definetly recommend you stay here. all the workers live in this place too so it must be good.

This was a girly holiday for my friend an i to just relax and enjoy ourselfs and for the price we paid we werent expecting much.We arrived about 11pm an was greeted with a smile by the reception staff, we were handed our key an to our disapointment we were told we were in the annex building which was 50m from the main reception but once we got in to our apartment it was huge 2 rooms with 4 single beds an being 2 women we had our own room, we were more than happy with it except the balcony it was tiny.
As it was the start of season the shops closed at 10pm so there wasnt anywhere we could get supplies but we carried on lookin walked up and down the street until we walked passed this bar 3 times before realising it was still open coz at this time being about 12.30 it was quiet,as we later found out music has to be turned off at midnight except clubs." PASSION BAR" was the bar an its owned by rich an lisa, they were so friendly they gave us a bottle of water an a bottle of coke to see us through the night, not that it was needed as we stayed there all night anyway!!!! this is were we spent most of our holiday!I would recomend there famous purple passions.
We got back to the apartment about 5am an had to be up at 9am for the rep meeting, needless to say we were not in a sociable mood!
Our rep " MARMITE" was very friendly an helpful, she would just sit an talk to you an see how you were doin.
The pool was very refreshing after the hot day, the restaurant does a mean english breakfast for a very reasonable price, my mate had the battered squid an you dont just have a few rings you get the full thing.
Everyone seemed to go to the beach across the road or right down the strip but we went to a quieter beach instead of turning left outside the hotel turn right an a few meters down there is a nice clean beach that not many people know about.
As we went self catering we didnt spend much time in the hotel only at the pool very friendly service,we didnt have to pay for sun loungers as it says in the brouchor maybe it was because it was start of season.
we only did one excursion which was the volcano trip an we thoughly enjoyed it well recomended, its about an hour away on a boat then about 45mins on a bus.its very stinky an advised to were trainers or hard shoes no sandles or flipflops coz there is a big slope to walk up an down an its very hot down there.
Be aware of the bugs they bite you all over if your not carful so take loads of bit relive an repelant it helps.
Overall we had a fantastic holiday and i am planing to go back this september with my husband. We will be returning to the Argyri Aparthotel.

we have just got back from this holiday from hell .we went on may 19 th 2010 we hade been up all day and arrived at 10 pm .i ask was there a room on ground floor as my wife has just had a knee repacement .there wasnt another room . so it was a climb of 18 stairs .the room was so basic .the beds are 8 inches off the floor .with 1 sheet at 4.45 in the morning we herd this almighty banging and swearing on the landing it was 2 young lads banging on our door .i was a bit worried to say the least this went on for over an hour ..the walls were like cardboard as you could here everything they said and did mainly in the bathroom .i complained and the man said he would sort it ..no chance.same thing every night for 6 nights .we couldnt use the shower as it was broken in half as was the toilet system .again i reported it ..no chance .i told the rep she said she would sort it and come and see me still waiting.me and my wife are in our 60s so why send us to a 18 to 30 hotel .its about time these tour operators did something about places like this

Well where do i start on the day of our arrival went well .On the second day we had no water on the 3 day was the same and the4 day we had no water in the afternoon wait for it my husband went to see why and he said they was filling the pool up which is stupid because we could not have a shower to get the sun tan oil off of us.Plus the show head was knacked if you had a bath it was ok if you were 4 foot nothing. The apartments are for 18-30 very noisey at night .BEWARE when you get out of the lift as to my horror on the floor was water from the pool and yes i did not see it and slipped on it and went to the floor hurting my knee it was bandaged up for 2days We will never go in them again yet we love kardamena

We went to Kos and stayed here from October the 8th to the 15th 2009. 3 guys and 5 girls, aged 18/19. We had an amazing time there. We spent more time at the hotel than anywhere else because the staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were fairly simple but fine for a group like us, we only cooked two or three times and we managed fine with it. The only complaint I had was our room didn't have a shower curtain when we first arrived, but that was quickly sorted out once reported. The beach was lovely and the sea was very clean. All the restaurants were very nice, clean and the food was delicious and cheap. The bar workers at night were also very nice to us and we didn't think it was all that expensive for what we were getting. We went quite late on in the season so it was nearly dead and everyone was going home the same time we were. The reps were always very nice too and had enough things to offer to keep people busy for the time there. We'd all highly recommend this holiday.
