City Park Hotel

Well we arrived in the lobby after a very early flight in the morning tiered and a little agitated to be told that there is a problem with our booking and was told to get in a taxi to one of there other hotels City Park Pelayo Hotel Barcelona which is a 2* property when we had paid for a 4* property reading the reviews we proberly had a lucky escape as this hotel was just a few min away from the heart of everything and the night life as well as the shopping

Hotel is very well presented and at first glance looks impressive.Is situated too far from centre of barcelona and is a 30 min tram ride then 30 min on the underground.There are no shops near by and no bars or resturants.I would not recommend you eat in the resturant.We ordered chicken and chips and the chicken was red inside.If we had eaten it i have no doubt we would have got food poisoning,we refused to eat it but were still billed.We found the head waiter very unreasonable and intimadating.On the last day we asked for a wake up call,they... more

This hotel is situated in a quiet part of the city a mere few minutes walk from Sants Estacio metro which has good links to all the main points of interest. Our stay got off to a disappointing start in that my friend and I had booked a twin room prior to arriving and were told that a large group had arrived shortly before us and we had to stay either in separate single rooms or share a double (unless we wanted to trek to a hotel near the airport). Just come back from a weekend in Barcelona and stayed 2 nights at the City Park Hotel. Lovely hotel, staff were ok, not over friendly but answered any questions we had. Room was very clean but the curtains didn't close fully and it was very noisy due to other "GUESTS" so we asked to move rooms, which we did and that was ok. The City Park hotel is an excellent hotel to stay in if you are visitng Barcelona. It is very clean and modern looking and the rooms are a good size and our room overlooked a small park next to the hotel which is situated in a fairly quiet area of the City. It does live upto its 4 star standard. The hotel very obviously caterers for business conferences and this added to the quality of the hotel. we stayed for 3 nights we had a very good breakfast and plenty of choice, the staff were freindly, the rooms were very nice, free soft drinks in the mini bar and a very nice welcome pack in the bathroom. its in a good position for all areas of barcelona would stay again, its a good place to watch the world and there dogs.

Great hotel, great staff. 15mins walk from the palace area and 5mins from a very major station (sants). Watch out for the maids a knife disappeared from my room one day and I have heard of this on another review site.

The new City Park Hotel is located in the suburbs of Barcelona, in Sant Just Desvern. It is really wonderful located along highways and at the main traffic connection in and out Barcelona Center: a 4 or 6 lane street, called Diagonal. The hotel is worth every of it's 4 stars. Rooms are clean and very beautiful. Beds are big and comfortable. Ample parking on private grounds. Breakfast is a buffet with a good range of food. Quiet location and nice hotel. The best was the helpful staff. Great choice out of the noisy city center.

We were bumped from our reserved hotel due to overbooking and sent to the City Park. It is a modern property that is somewhat worn but adequate overall. The front desk staff varied from extremely helpful to not quite indifferent, but perhaps not quite understanding. The breakfast buffet was out of most items more than an hour before it was scheduled to close and the remaining food was cold and dried out.
