Citadines Barcelona Ramblas

We stayed 3 nights – our room did not get cleaned once. Bed was very uncomfortable – it was a fold out, staff average. Do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This is the 3rd Citidines property I stayed at. The one in Paris and one in London were fine, this one in Barcellona was awful. The place was run down, the mattress was broken, the tiny tv did not even get cnn, the guy named Albert at the desk was not helpful at all and the bill was 600 euros for 3 nights. I got a lot more for the money in other places in Spain.

We have recently stayed at the Citadines and found it to be well worth the money. We had two ajoining apartments, which was excellent as the children had their own TV and CD player. The only downside was that the receptionist too a long time to check us in (half and hour). He didn't seem to have much idea about first come first served - but I think that is a Spanish thing. The only other sligh problem was that our loo would not flush, we did report this but it still wasn't fixed when we left. No real problem though as we just used the... more

Midway through a three and a half week stay in Europe, we wanted an apartment-hotel with some space to stretch out, a place to cook familiar food, and laundry facilities. We paid euros 210 through citadine website for a one-bedroom apartment. We did not use the sofa bed, only the comfortable king bed in the bedroom. We got just what we wanted and were pleasantly surprised by the helpful front desk staff. The washer and dryer cost 9 euros. Stayed at the Citadines for one night as our prefered hotel was not available. The location was fantastic, right on La Rambla, near the Placa de Catalunya end (nicer and safer feel to it than the Port end) and also where all the Tourist Buses and airport buses depart from. We stayed at the Citadines Ramblas for 3 nights arriving on a Saturday Evening. We had stayed here before but in a studio apartment. This time we were travelling with our 12 year old daughter and all the other hotels we tried nearby said that to put a 3rd bed into a double room would make it very cramped. This hotel was probably the best a family of four could ask for in an apartment in the middle of Barcelona. The location was perfect. You walked out of the front of the hotel and were in the middle of the action of the city. It was quite convenient to walk almost everywhere, although sometimes the walks could add up to more than three miles in a day, but what great walks! A friend who had stayed there with her family recommended this. Location is superb and it gives you a chance to relax during the day. On one morning we got fruit and croissants from La Boqueria Market, which is across the road and had a delicious breakfast to start the day. Facilities are great and even the fold out bed is comfortable. The website will show you exactly what the facilities are like. The accommodation was a big factor in making our trip one of the best yet.

We stayed at Citadines Barcelona for 3 nights Dec 05.The location of this hotel is brilliant, on La Ramblas.Rooms were clean and a good size.I would definitely stay here again, sun terrace on the top floor is a must and also the food market across road.

My wife and myself just returned from a jouney of Barcelona, where we stayed at Citadines Ramblas. There is no necessity to add once more to the positives about the apartment hotel itself and its location, written in previous reviews. However I want to underlines those critics about the "performance" of the central booking facility of Citadines Barcelona and the attempt to get a confirmed reservation. Phone call plus email plus fax plus another phone call and still no confirmation, but the hotel is worthwhile the efforts.
