Absolutely love the Susie Studios. My boyfriend and I have been there for the last 2 years and we have already booked there again for next year.
The transfers are so simple and the ferry journey gives you time to reflect on the beautiful scenery.
Susie studios is always kept nice and clean and you have all the basic equipment you could want.
The beach is only a couple of minutes walk away and therefore you can keep popping back to the apartments from the beach if need be.
A pair of sun loungers on the beech cost approx 6 euros for the day.
There are lots of restaurants to choose from and all the staff are so so friendly....a meal out for 4 adults cost us approx 55euros in total.
A lot of reviewers have complained about how basic the apartment is, but the way I see it, if you pay an excellent price of £390 for a 2 week stay, you cant really expect all the mod cons can you?
If you want all that then there are plenty of other places to stay on the beautiful island if you want to pay more.
Personally, we love the resort…..we will keep going there as it is the most beautiful romantic place and you never fail to be amazed by the breathtaking views….its the kind of picture perfect place that I only thought existed in the movies.

Just returned from Susie apts. The only thing I can say is they were clean. Otherwise, forget it. Both bars were closed. No drinks, no ice-creams. Pool was lovely but only a few beds were in any condition to use. Think owner would have prefered if nobody had been there. Kitchen equipment wasnt even basic. We were passing utensils from apt to apt. We at least made a few friends over a tin opener. Scala potamias was beautiful, had a lovely holiday spent most of our time at the Green Sea apts where we originally booked. 30 years travelling in Greece, Susie apts was worst ever

just returned from wonderful holiday in thassos. stayed at the suzie studios in skala potamias. apartments spotless and basically equipped, but adequate. ideally situated for everything. one of best parts of holiday was the ferry crossing from the mainland. amazing. went with 2 other couples, no kids. we all enjoyed it. lots of friendly bars. would recommend Green Sea bar (say hi to Demitri) in skala and fedra's restaurant in golden beach.also vigli bar in golden beach, amazing views. also dolphin cafe in golden beach, friendly english couple. definintely returning!!

great place, been to skala potamias 7 times and going for the 8th this summer, great views and nice people, pool bar could be better

Basic but reasonably clean studio, on-site facilities are restricted to a swimming pool and there is a fridge with cold drinks.
The owner makes no effort to encourage use of this or of the safes/fans that are available on request. The clothes driers on the balcony are a bit rusty so take care with whites/delicates.
Setting is lovely, very low-key, views delightful - we had a lovely sea view and large balcony but not all rooms so well appointed. The thing that looks like a bar in the reception area and the other that looks like an outdoor bar are just for show.
There is a supermarket next door that sells most requirements at reasonable prices and they are very helpful. You can buy bus tickets there too and the efficient bus service is from right outside the shop.
First thing I bought was a fly swat to wave the plentiful (but not aggressive) wasps away.
A very short walk will take you to the seafront and a selection of tavernas and shops.
Everyone has their favourites and as our tastes are different it’d be hard to recommend, but our fave was the Green Sea.
Least favourite was Viglis which is at the far (high) end of Golden Beach and has the most fabulous views over the resort. Great for a daytime coffee, but the evening meal was disappointing and pricey, plus you don’t have the view to enjoy. Avoid Greek night!
There are a couple of car hire places in the "town" which is about 10-15 minutes walk.
Take enough sun lotion for your stay as it’s not cheap and sits about in the sun deteriorating in the resort shops.

The Susie Studios are good standard accommodation if you are happy with basics, comfortable and equipped for everyday needs but in no stretch of the imagination could you call them luxurious. A small swimming pool here and only about a 10 minutes casual walk to the lovely sandy beach. Skala Potamis is a fairly quiet resort with a good selection of Tavernas and there are a few bars around but these are relatively low key. Certainly all round more of a couples resort. not sure Apart from the beach there is much to attract children especially if they are fussy with their food. No fast food outlets around .It has a stunning backdrop and is could be described as quite romantic.

Room 14 - very clean and comfortable. Kitchen basic - cutlery mugs etc adequate. Towels changed regularly. Beds fine. Balcony private - view of mountains sea and pool. Pool clean. I swam every day before breakfast - great for swimmers - well laid out - with steps leading to shallow end - perfect for those not so sprightly and for youg children. A deep end for those who enjoy a 'proper' swim. Delightful area around pool.
Albatros shop closeby. Friendly staff. well stocked. Do buy the Grrek Yoghurt with Cream - wish Tesco stocked it! Made a perfect breakfast with fruit and yummy rolls. Rolls and cheese made a cheap snack for the beach.
Beach only 5 minutes walk away. Walk to area near Green Sea restaurant. Good loungers here. Sea perfect for both serious swimmers and paddlers. Many of us were just floating - looking at the mountains for the 'sheer joy of the sun on our faces' Avoid the pebbly area and walk along to where it's sandy right into the sea. Easier to get in and out.
Two favourite Tavernas are Arpoyiade (blue checked table cloths/white shades) Tables by sea or by restaurant. Run by a lovely couple. I'm vegetarian - spruced up by Giant beans with potatoes and salad - no extra charge. Green Sea also excellent - great Saturday evening atmosphere.
Rep Catherine - very good. Only downside - why can't bus tinmetable be run off for holidaymakers? We went to Thassos town and just 'dumped' by dock. Found a travel agent who said 'Try the docks' Dock area pointed us to Bus station - at last a timetable! We like to use the buses and explore. Handed ours to the folks in the next apartment with the words 'These are as rare as hen's teeth' Also, more should be made of the water taxi from Golden Beach to Thassos town.
We enjoyed a lovely restful holiday - weather glorious. Temperatures 37 degrees - magic.
