Chrysoula Apartments
A very social atmosphere can be enjoyed at the friendly Chrysoula Apartment complex which is ideal for couples and families. Accommodation is modern in style and well-maintained with basic but comfortable facilities. There is a swimming pool on-site, and it is conveniently close to the beach and a range of holiday amenities.Apartment has separate twin bedroom, television, kitchenette, telephone, hairdryer, bath or shower room and balcony or terrace.

Just come back from a fortnights holiday at the Chrysoula. I had read a lot of reviews before we went away so was prepared what to expect. We stayed in block B which was one of the older blocks, blocks C, D and E certainly appear more modern but at the end of the day how long are you actually in your apartment. The apartment was basic, bathroom was small and we are a tall couple and the shower was tiny for us, but hey we are on holiday and it was okay for a fortnight. The accommodation was cleaned every day and we had clean bedding and towels every 3 days. The balcony was fine, had table and two chairs so enough to sit out on in the evening. We did not pay for air con but we did have a fan which provided some respite from the heat at night - probably could have done with air con for a night or two if I am honest.
The pool area was lovely, plenty of sunbeds and we enjoyed our mornings there. The beach very close by and suited us fine. Food around the pool is reasonable but drinks there are definitely pricey which has been mentioned before. We did not go to either the free pasta night or BBQ night, but that was through our choice - nothing to do with anything else.
The family are lovely and very helpful and to be honest, so were all the people we met in Kefalos.
Eating out is incredibly reasonable and certainly recommend Waves (especially the cake at the end of the meal) and Rainbow (big portions though).
The trip to Nisyrous is certainly well worth doing - as is taking the bus to Kos 4 euros each way, hiring a two man kayak 12 euros for an hour and a quad bike.
We both believed considering what we paid for the holiday it was well worth it - very good value for money and at the end of the day apartments were clean and tidy, dated yes.
Kefalos, yes is a quiet and laid back place but friendly and would we go back? Probably yes at some point just because we liked it. At the end of the day it is what you make of your holiday and we had two weeks of glorious weather with good food, we relaxed and really enjoyed ourselves and that is what all the matters.
Just to say too, agree with the other person that wrote a review, Kos airport is a little bit chaotic to say the least but we were only delayed 20 mins coming home so can't grumble but it is a very, very small airport!

Kefalos is a wonderful resort, unfortunatly Chrysoula Apartments are odd, either wonderful, modern, spacious, or terrible and cramped, and my studio (block a number 1) was the latter.
we arrived at 1am on a thursday morning, the steps to the room were steep, especially with 20 kilos of suitcase.
in the cold light of day i could see what i had, a basic, cramped studio which had no tv, the bathroom was terrible and i felt ripped off. i managed to get the tv replaced which was lucky as i was ill 2 days later and that required a trip to the doctors in kardamena, tip if you are with t.c get the gold insurance, i had to pay 60 euros to be seen to. anyway there was a lot to be positive about from this holiday (once i was no longer ill or in the room), the complex itself is nice, i saw a room in the e block and it is a whole other world, the pool is clean, the bar food is amazing (the chips were heavenly). jim's supermarket was roughly 3 mins walk from my room at the far end of the complex (so closer for others) and dimitri and his wife (can't remember how to spell her name) were the friendliest people you could hope to meet, 8am till god only knows what time they were there and what a pleasure they were to meet, best places to eat were savvas (head down the beach road next to jims and it is opposite a large hotel, its run by chrysoula (quite a common name in greece lol) and her husband costas, the food was amazing, i've only been back a day and i am already craving lemon sole lol.
others have recommended hub's and i stand by that too, the chicken was amazing, the half chicken was about 7 and a half euros and was amazing, much nicer than anything i have had in this country and the staff are so friendly.
best place though was the dolphin rock cafe, run by manolis and assisted by his younger brother costas, a great fun place to spend an evening which we all did.
kefalos beach is not the best, get a car if you can and go to paradise beach, very appropraitely named it was heavenly. tingaki is worth a visit, kardamena was a bit ott for me (i'm 27) but overall good holiday apart from terrible room.

We stayed in Block A (room 2) which was the furthest away from the pool/bar area and above where the owners live. The room itself was OK, but the bathroom was a joke! You could only open the door half-way because the basin was in the way and the position of the toilet meant you had to climb over it to sit on it! If you were taller than me (5’9”) it would be impossible! On a couple of days the bins weren’t emptied at all and we only had a change of sheets/towels twice in 2 weeks. The studio didn’t seem to have been cleaned/swept at all while we were there.
We didn’t use the pool or bar because the beach (5 min walk) was so lovely and there were plenty of cheaper taverna’s within a 10/15 min walk. Having said that, the pool looked lovely and clean and didn’t seem too crowded. These apartments are at the other end of the resort from the harbour and I defy anybody to walk all the way to the harbour and back in the evening – it would take well over half an hour and who wants to do that after dinner?!
Our very most favourite place to eat was Harry’s, which is a 15 min walk from the Apartments. Harry, his wife, son John and daughters all work here and Harry is a total character – get used to him yelling ‘I love you, but your husband is ugly’! He’s a great guy and his wife’s cooking is the best you’ll taste. Such a friendly atmosphere and the same people seemed to return every night – just as we did. Harry also has Apartments, so we’re hoping to stay there next year. The son John also has a supermarket across the road and one of Harry’s daughters is married to Jim who has the supermarket across the road from Chrysoula!
We hire a quad bike to do some local exploring – 17 euro a day for an 80cc from Manilos next to the Chrysoula. Went up to Kefalos village which is how the ‘real’ people of Kos live and visited some nearby beaches. The best was Paradise Beach – very sandy, shallow sea – 2 sunbeds and parasol = 7 euros. The local beach at Kefalos is nice, but it’s quite breezy there – 2 sunbeds and parasol = 5 euros. The sea, however, is surprisingly cold (it’s the Aegean, not the Med!) but very refreshing when you’re boiling hot!
Caught the local bus one day to Kos Town rather than hiring a car and leaving it parked up in the town all day. This was OK, but beware of the 4.30pm bus back – it’s PACKED and we had to stand all the way back. There are only 2 buses back – 4.30pm and 9.30pm.
Hired a car for one day (35 euros) and did a complete tour of the island. Went to the beautiful village of Zia first (get there as early as you can, before the coach tours arrive) and make sure you climb the steps up to the church and the village ‘proper’ where there are some lovely shady tavernas to sit and have home-made lemonade and look in wonder at the spectacular views!
All in all Kefalos provides a quiet, laid back resort but with plenty of different places to eat, a lovely beach and easy access to other places using a quad bike or hire car. We will definitely be back.
Flights both ways were delayed – going out by 2 hours (Gatwick), 1st Officer was ill and they had to wait for a replacement and coming back by 4 hours - the plane was grounded in Gatwick and we ended up on a filthy old plane crewed by Spanish! Be prepared for your return journey as Kos Airport is far too small for the number of flights going out. It was absolutely packed and the Duty Free shop is tiny. They are also very hot on Excess Baggage – we had to pay nearly 40 euro for 4lb over!

well as we said last year we returned, the first time we have ever gone back to the same place for our holidays and we were not disapointed.
we had a warm welcome from Chrysoula who updated us about her family who were all helping her out this year, we had requested 2 rooms on an upper floor next to each other, Chrysoula knew about this and we were shown straight up to the rooms and as it was only 2pm we went straight to the pool, plenty of sunbeds to choose from and with the light breeze was a pleasure to relax in even when in the mid 30`s.
we had decided we were not going to do any cooking this year, the food at Chrysoula may be limited but all without exception is of a good standard, fresh and brilliant value for money.
On sunday nights they put on a free pasta night for all the guests, that was our suposed non meat eating daughter hooked on the spag bol, which i think she enjoyed 5 out of the 14 nights. yes it was delicious.
If you need a bit of a caffene kick but want something chilled the ice cream frappe are to die for, I did comment last year that the drinks were a little expensive, this year about the same as anywhere in Kefalos.
We hired a jeep and a quad bike this year excellent value for money would recommend that if you are having a pillion on the quad get a bigger engine than the 50cc as it struggled a little on some of the steep hills up from the beaches, we hired from Manolis which is just at the enterance to Chrysoula they were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Again as last year heard a few bad stories about trust autos, so even though they may be a couple of Euros cheaper may not be worth the hassle.
Took the jeep around the island for a day and visited Zia in the evening, it may only last a few minutes but the sunset is well worth seeing and had a delicious meal to boot.
If you want trinkets and souveniers Zia is full of shops and at good value for money and some nice jewellery can be had. Get there early probably an hour and a half before sunset as we only just managed to get parked.
Many thanks to Dimitri and his wife in Jims supermarket just over the road from Chrysoula, they were there from 8 in the morning until midnight and nothing is too much trouble for them and price wise are good value as we went to a large supermarket in Tingaki, but was hardly any different in price.
The beach was a lot quiter this year as club med has closed for refurb so you could walk on the edge of the sea without having to negotiate the sail boats and windsurfers.
Again would recommend the sea shoes for walking in the sea as just takes away the worry of cutting your feet on the rocks.
If you need to take your laptop to stay in touch you can get free wireless connection at Sebastions bar just down the road, was nice to have a couple of beers and let daughter catch up with her mates. Chrysoula also has internet access in the games room at good value at 3 euros for an hour.
we did drag daughter away from the spag bol a few nights and had no complaints about any of the meals we ate, if you want Garlic Prawn the Aussie restaurant is the place to go they were shell on and huge, think the name of the other restaurant we enjoyed was scorpios or scorpion just a little down from Aussie where you can have Thai, Chinese, Indian and many other dishes from around the world, so if you cannot make up your mind what everyone wants thats the place to go, and if you want to just chill out on your Balcony they do takeaway, which takes about 45 mins so order and go and have a beer in one of the bars.
All in all one of the best holidays we have had in years and yes we will be returning hopefully in October for a week and if not then Definatly next July.
Many thanks to Chrysoula and her family for making us welcome and see you all soon, and I promise will not do Karaoke after Ouso again.

Lovely location and generally good rooms however the owners let themselves down. We were at Chrysoula for 2 weeks and were spoken to once and that was to be told "follow me" to our apartment. We tried complaining about the smell of the drains in our room but they weren't interested. We ended up blocking the drains in the bathroom to stop the smell. We got married whilst in Kefalos (the small party not the large one) and they couldn't even manage a Congratulations - not very good Customer Service in our eyes.
Kefalos as a resort is a beautiful relaxing place which we will continue to visit year after year but we won't be returning to Chyrsoula.
PS You have got to try Hub's! It doesn't look fancy but Bob is fantastic and the chef is brilliant. You'll always be made to feel very welcome! We've visited Kefalos twice now and out of 28 nights we've only eaten elsewhere 8 times. Also T42 is great for breakfasts. Again Mary & Tony will make you feel really welcome.

a great holiday in kefalos but very disappointed with accomodation this time. The standard of cleanliness was low, dirty floors,an unusable microwave(old food clinging to surfaces, the bathroom door did not close as people before us had forced it open and it was not repaired, cupboards smelled of damp and any food left in them came out smelling the same!very poor maintenance of all ouside doors and the balcony had not been swept for months by the look of it. Would not recommend these apartments at all.

Chrysoula complex was a nicely kept establishment with friendly staff who were available if needed but did not hassle you and left you to do your own thing. A very quiet complex with little in the way of enetrtainment. Unsure what previous reviewer meant regarding louts etc as we had no such experience ,just the usual high spirits expected of holidayers returning to apartments at night etc and no roudiness,or bad language, despite the fact that there was a large wedding party staying at the complex.
Pool area very nice and clean and plenty of free sunbeds/brolleys. Only small complaint was that we did not have a towel/linen change until 5th day and as we were only there for 7 this didnt really fit but may have been a genuine error on cleaners part.
Overall a nice relaxed complexed with good facilities and helpful staff.

Just back from a one week holiday to Kefalos which was our third time in this resort in Kos as it is a real favourite with us. We thought we would try apartments for a change as we have a young child and all the advertising indicated that the Chrysoula Apartments were the family friendly place to go!!
The apartments themselves are of a relatively high standard and are very well kept with cleaners working practically around the clock to keep them this way, however, we were very disappointed in the management as they seemed to favour louts drinking around the bar pool area than children. The mother of a young child of two was asked to stop her child from running near the pool area (who can do this to a two year old I ask you!!) but there were no warnings for those drunk at the bar area cursing and swearing near the young children. Not very family friendly I would say. Also there were several nights with loud music and drunken singing, again not very family friendly. For us this was not acceptable and next time we will be trying another establishment.

Had stayed in Kos Town, Lambi in 2005, so decided to go for a quieter holiday in 2006 and see the rest of the island. Hired a car for the 2 weeks, arrived in the middle of the night and picked the car up at the airport drove to Kefalos 20 minutes from the airport and arrived at Chrysoula Appartments at 3 am, no one to meet us so we looked for an appartment with a key in the door and made ourselves at home. The accomodation was fine a room for the kids ajoining ours, basic kitchen facilities and reasonable shower/bathroom. The pool is one of the largest in Kefalos Town it is clean and not crowded due to its size, the family running the place were friendly and the grandma made great chips. The village of Kefalos is quiet, ideal for families but to dead for singles. The best beach on the island is Paradise Beach 10-15 minutes drive up the coast well worth a visit, spent half the holiday here great restuarant on the cliff also bubble beach to see the volcanic bubbles and water sports. A visit to the village of Tia in the mountains for a romatic evening meal watching the sun set is a must, there's a roof top garden restuarant right at the top of the village. A visit to Kos Town is a must also for shopping and to see the palace/history. A hire car is a must if you go to Kefalos.

We have just returned from staying at Chrysoula Apartments and would comment as follows:-
We arrived at the apartments at 1am in the morning, we were met by Chrysoula who muttered our last name and then said 'follow me' - very friendly!! It was not as if they had stayed up late to greet us as there were people sitting around the pool waiting for their pick up to the airport....
Anyway apartment was very nice and we had nothing to complain about, there was air conditioning but although the weather was hot, the fan that was supplied in the room was sufficient to keep us cool.
The pool was large and was kept clean at all times, plenty of sunbeds if you could bear the heat!!!
Kefalos itself - well if we had seen a tumbleweed rolling down the middle of the road it wouldn't have surprised us!!! It was advertised as 'quiet' but there is quiet and there is quiet! We found Hubs restaurant on our second night and tended to eat there but we heard some good reviews about the 'Rainbow'.
Shopping is non existent - there are supermarkets but no 'gifty' type shops. We played it safe and booked a trip to Kos shopping with Thomas Cook, we waited for over an hour for the bus - it didn't arrive. On returning to the apartments I telephoned TC who informed me that the trip had been cancelled, it appeared that Chrysoula had not informed us, as this was our last day we were more than a bit disappointed.
Another trip had been cancelled the day before and the guests were not told - he was not a happy bunny either - so if you book any trips make sure that they have not been cancelled or you may look like a pair of right lemons waiting and waiting and waiting!!
That said the scenery was lovely and the weather was hot hot hot, the beach was good too and we watched the wind surfers whizz across the bay. We had a thoroughly relaxing holiday, mainly because there was nothing else to do! Would we go back - possibly if we again didn't want to do anything at all but I doubt we will.

Just got back from a week at Chrysoula and found the apartments to be spacious and clean and great for 2 people but may have been a bit cramped for 3 or 4. The pool area was very clean and the food on offer at the bar was first class, but we found the long drinks like vodka and coke to be a little over priced at 4 euros each. You can get them for half that price in the bars only round the corner, so we didn’t have that many and if we did fancy one in the afternoon went back and got our own from the room.
Not a lot to do but laze around or go for a stroll but we found the beach to be amazing and if you enjoy snorkeling it is fantastic. We used a lilo and lay side by side with a waterproof bag and swam over to the island with the church on, which was again great fun and certainly gets your back tanned.
If you do go in the sea would recommend you buy some swimming shoes which you can get from most of the shops for about 5 euros. They were a god send as the sand was very hot on the old feet and when walking in the water you didn’t mind what you were walking on.
If you want a snack in the evening the gyros from the restaurant on your right just past the aussie restaurant are fab to take away and great value at 2 euros each.
The nicest bar we found was the Rock Bar; just relax by the beach and have a cool pint or 2 and if you eat your breakfast before 11am you can take advantage of their sunbeds on the beach.
The supermarket JIMS was a pleasure to go shopping in and everyone was very helpful.
All in all we had a great time and are thinking of returning to Kos next year with our 14 year old daughter and 2 of her friends.

After just returning from there a day ago we all want to go back. The apartments were clean and child friendly.
We had our room cleaned every day and clean towels & bedding every other. The family that run the apartments are lovely friendly people.
All the family are involved helping where they can. Every day there you'd see the little old grandma peeling here potatoes for the chips. Must say they are the best tasting chips on the island.
The pool is clean and not over crowded. You’re a stone’s throw away from the beach. We hired a car, and having a 2yr old daughter they supplied us with car seat free of charge. We toured the island ourselves which is cheaper than booking days out through the reps.
The restaurants were good, we liked the Rock garden, Scorpions and Hubbs. Our daughter loved Popeyes bar. We had to go there every day so she could have a dance.
Everybody is so friendly and helpful. This part of Greece hasn't been ruined it’s not commercialised yet which is great.
Overall I’d rate the apartments 10/10, Location 10/10, beach 10/10, and the holiday 10/10 for being the most relaxing holiday ever. We are coming back next year for sure.

Spent a fortnight in Faliraki with my girlfriend last September and was one of the best holidays I've been on.
When I first arrived at the Chrysoula Apartments, I was a little put off by the fact I had seemed to be dropped off on a dual carriageway seeming miles from anything.
However after attending an arrival meeting with the holiday rep in the morning, realised we where right on the doorstep of everything!
The 15min walk to the beach is a bit of an exaggeration, probably only takes 10mins and the two main run parallel to the hotel.
One review talks about the ceiling fan in the room, admittedly it can be very hot but if you don't have the fan on you will no the difference. Another thing is that we had the fan on throughout the two weeks and there was no charge for using it.
The pool is small, but pleasant and as it is only a small complex rarely gets over crowded. A pool bar offers a welcome shade.
The food and drinks at the bar are a little more expensive than the restaurants in town but not overly. And the food is generally good.
The resort as a whole was really nice, amazing beach and plenty of places to eat. Brilliant selection on bars and clubs (recommend bedrocks and mambos) in the evening to.
Also worth a trip up to the water park, as well as heading into Rhodes town for a day.
Overall was a fantastic trip.

Great holiday, pool is lovely, restaurant and bar sell great food, nearby restaurants are excellent too, especially Hubs.
The apartments were nice but basic, not that we spent much time in them. The beach is lovely, people are friendly and there are plenty of trips to go on. The one to Turkey is good fun.
I would say anyone who wants a relaxing holiday, and to do lots of swimming and sunbathing should go to Chrysoula Apartments. Oh and the games room is really good too, playing pool was fun!
