Andreas the bar manager
from wolfman10965
My wife and I took our 17 yr old son and his mate thinking there would be plenty to keep them occupied and give ourselves some peace and quiet.....We were right, we stayed b&b and found this to be the best idea as we had a chance to get out and try different eateries. The hotel had a good choice of activities for the lads for example ...pool, table tennis , tennis ,volleyball, and water polo. They often walked down into protaras for the day and said that it was a great place to " have fun". The pool area is fantastic, it is large enough so as to think you are in a smaller hotel because of the space. The pool bar is great and they serve good food at lunchtime just enough to put you on until the evening, Andreas has some great tales from the past when the area was just fields and he was a builder...fascinating . We went on a couple of trips from the hotel and can say that the lazy day cruising up the coast on the sunday was the highlight of our holiday , fantastic scenery and a great skipper , good food and great stop offs for swimming. Rooms are pretty basic but hey what do you need when the temp hits 40 degrees , air con and a bed thats all. The water park in aghia napa is a must for teens and oldies that behave like teens . looked at all other reviews and think some points can be taken out of all but on the whole if you get great weather as we did (every day we stayed was above 36)this is a brilliant place to stay.
Ok is about the best that can be said!

Stayed for a week all inclusive end of June/beg July, travelled here with a friend. The hotel is ok, it is definitely no less than it's 3 stars but it certainly isn't anymore either! Our room was prefectly ok, the aircon system although very old did work well. The bed however was like sleeping on a mortuary slab, i was very glad to get home to my own bed - god i'm sounding old!! The bathroom was good, it had a bath and a shower but like the greek islands Cyprus does not have good plumbing so the toilet paper goes in the bin by the side of the loo - nice! I am a vegetarian and i did struggle to find something to eat for the full week in the evenings. Breakfast was good, the usual selections of eggs, bacon, sausage, beans etc etc with a couple of pastry choices and some fruit and cereal. The "orange Juice" left a lot to be desired but i took my own pg tips with me so all was well - there goes the getting old thing again! Lunch was lovely, they served it outside but in a covered area, the setting there is gorgeous they have this waterfall and it overlooks the pool and gardens so a really nice setting. As we were all inclusive there was a set menu to choose from. This was literally a 3 course meal if you wanted it to be which for most people is too much for lunchtime but they gave you a choice of two things for starters, normally a soup and a meat or fish thing. The main meal had 3 meat choices all very nice if you eat meat but they did also always have an omelette (i did get very fed up with omelettes by the end of the week) and you could have a fruit salad or ice cream for pudding, it was waitress service so they got your drinks for you from the bar. The evening meal wasn't up to much in my opinion. They had the usual bread and soup and salad cart to choose from and about 3 different meat choices with either veg or rice but nothing very exciting. My friend i went with enjoyed the food much more than me, what they did was nice but there was a lack of choice all round and especially for awkward veggies like me! We ate out twice at a restaurant about 10 minutes walk away called Blue Spice and it was absolutely gorgeous in there. The area near to the hotel is ok, you come out of the main entrance and turn right and then right again and you have a few bars, restaurants and shops along there and this area leads down to the beach area which is absolutely awfull, the worst beach i think i have ever seen outide of England, it was tiny and looked dirty with like garden earth as sand, not pleasant, actually the pool area at the hotel is lovely. The pool is a good size, it is really deep though even the shallow part, they do have a separate little kiddies pool. All the staff were really friendly, i especially liked Dimitri the barman, he was very friendly and liked to have a chat. The other people at the hotel were all lovely without exception. The hotel is mainly British and the week we were there they had a really good crowd of people. The hotel entertainment was terrible. It consisted of the worst "Magician" i have ever seen, my 6 year old nephew does better with his marvellous marvin set!!! The rest of the week was not any better and verged on non existant so please do not go here if you are looking for good nightly or daytime entertainment. Would i go again? No i wouldn't for many different reasons. As i started out by saying the hotel is ok, i went with a friend to have a relaxing week in the sun and that was exactly what we did but i would not look to stay at The Paschalia again when there is much better hotels right in the Protaras centre area. I loved Cyprus however and will definitely be back to the island again. Any questions please feel free to email me.
Lovely Hotel

Just returned from a weeks bed and breakfast stay at the Paschalia Hotel. It is a nice hotel, breakfast was pretty basic, cooked breakfast, toast or cereal and small selection of fruit. Juice was just coloured water. The soft drinks were not great quality unless you ask for a bottle of Cola rather than a cup of Cola. The hotel was really clean, your room was cleaned everyday however your towels and bed sheets are only changed twice a week. You are given 2 beach towels, so these can be used if needed. You will need to pay locally for use of Fridges/Safety deposit boxes. The staff are all really friendly including the cleaners and night watchman. The area surrounding the hotel is very dark. There is no street lights & road surface/path is uneven and if not careful someone could easily hurt themself.. As there is no lights it makes leaving/arriving the hotel hazardous at nights. It is a good 15min walk to the centre of Protaras but there is a bus stop roughly 500 yards from hotel, it costs 1euro 35. I would reccomend eating at Anatolia, you cant miss it as you need to walk past it when going into Protaras. There is also a really good little taverna just past the 'Brilliant' apartments on the opposite side of the road (just along from the polyclinic) it doesnt look much from the outside but the food is lovely. If you fancy a cocktail go to Teejays or Ripples.
RELAXING HOLIDAY
from AREEBA_7
Hotel is very clean and tidy. The pool area is very nice and there are various areas including the grass that you can go and relax on. Sunbeds are provided with no extra charge. There is a bar and a restaurant that is open in the day for you to have snacks or three course meal. Quite a lot of people were all inclusive, but opted to go for bed and breakfast so that we could try out the restaurants around which there are plenty of in the local area or further down in Protaras. One of our favourites was Anatolia which done a very nice steak. Staff were very busy but were friendly. People were queuing to get in. Protaras is about about 15-20mins - Paralimini is about 10 mins walk. There is a lot of building work going on around the hotel but we did not hear any of the noise from this as the hotel was quiet. Staff are friendly and helpful. The only things that I would say against it is that we would have liked to have tea and coffee making facilitiesin the room. Also when walking back from either Protaras or from the local area the road nearest the hotel is very dark, with no street lights to illumanate the road you could end up going over on your ankle or similar.
most friendly hotel ive visited

most hotels in cyprus or greece end up with "didnt agree with the star rating". neither did we ! the food, entertainment and cleanliness were much better than the 3 star this hotel was sold to us as. it was only half full and this is a terrible shame as this is one of the most underrated hotels i have stayed in.the staff were brilliant, the chef had a pride in his food and even came out to present it to us with an explanation of what was in it. i dont like going back to anywhere as i like to try new places but i might make an exception in this case.
Super Hotel,Fantastic Staff,Amazing Cyprus
from colshy68
Cyprus one of the gems of the Med! Beautiful Island,Wonderful People,Top Weather/Food. Downside was the price, not the cheapest. The Pascalia, family owned I believe, seemed to attract a lot of repeat custom.I think simply because the staff, esp Andrea's at the bar, made you feel part of the family, and looked after you well. The hotel was spotless, food good, pool fantastic/clean. Smallish water park literally 5 mins walk up a dusty road, not to busy, but enough to keep the family occupied. Pernera, the village next to the hotel, is small with all the usual supermarkets. Loads of great eaterys a lil stroll away. TIP:get a jeep and go and explore the best beaches away from the madding crowds, just jump in and drive...very worth while!!
Really nice place to stay
from chris2105
The Paschalia is a great place to base your holiday from. On a B&B Basis we stayed for a week and found no reason not to return. We travelled in the 1st week of October and I was worried about the weather not being up to much thanks to checking the weather sites constantly for about 10 days before we travelled, but it was wonderfully hot and sunny all week - no rain at all. The breakfast can be a bit samey if you keep getting the same thing day in, day out (which I did) - but you do have the choice of cold meats, cooked fry up, boiled eggs, cereals, fresh fruit, toast, tea, coffee, and juice (not really very "samey" after all is it?) The hotel is based in the middle of 2 towns - Paralimni and Protarus - (if you arrive at night you could be forgiven for thinking you are stuck in the middle of nowhere). If you go to the end of the road and turn left and left again you will get to Protarus - about 15-20 min walk depending on pace (the busier town and better beach). You can also get to the same place by turning right down to the local beach (not so good, but quiet) and right again, which will take you along the beach path and bring you out on Protarus beach. Alternatively you can walk straight on at the end of the road and this will bring you to the main street of the resort with restaurants and bars to keep you going all week (about 10mins walk) As with everyone else I would recommend shopping around for trips instead of booking through the reps (eg Famagusta £18Cyp instead of £28Cyp through reps). We booked ours through Thisvi Travel (Lady called Wendy) and did 2 different trips. (Famagusta and Troodos Mountains) For car hire we shopped around but didn't get one in the end but from looking I would recommend Champion car hire for price (seemed to be the best rates). I would definately recommend car hire to get around the island. As good and cheap as the trips were, there was a rushed element to it all. For each stop off point you seemed to get the choice of get something to eat or see the sights (Not enough time for both). Personally, I would prefer less stop off points and more time when you do stop. For eating and drinking I definately recommend Speedy Gonzales Mexican (generous portions), Knights Bar & Windmill Bar. The poolside bar is open till 1am. The hotel entertainment is regular but on the whole, a little disappointing. We usually indulged on the way back from food and drinks in the resort, and it is free so you can't complain too much. The hotel also do meal nights which you can pay for separately (we did one but again was a little bit disappointed so decided to stick to breakfasts only). The rooms accomplished exactly what we wanted them to. We slept and stored clothes there (what more do you want on holiday - we're not Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen after all!!!). Air con is free. Safe and fridge are a cost option. Rooms were cleaned every day and towels/sheets replaced twice a week. Larnaca airport is a bit of a bore and no delay information seems to be given (our flight took off about 40mins late). Although check in was fast (something I was initially dreading). On the whole a great holiday. Cyprus is a great place to visit with so much to offer. We will definately be returning at some point in the future. We may not stay in the same hotel but only because we like to get around a bit and the island is quite large to be driving from one end to the other for a day trip.
TERRIBLE FOOD
from cheekymarvin
We have just returned from a week at the Paschalia Hotel, Protaras, Cyprus. We didnt actually book to stay here, but 2 days before our holidy we were informed via letter from Hellenic Voyages, the company we booked through that we had actually been over booked and would not be staying at the hotel we originally booked The Pernera Beach Hotel. We booked the Pernera Beach because of its location - right on the beach within easy walking distance of bars and shops. Unfortunately the Paschalia is about a good 20 minute walk to a nice beach and the same again for the centre of Pernera. Needless to say this was very disappointing. We thought though at least the hotel would be of the same standard as the Pernera Beach, if not better. Sadly, this was not the case either. The Paschalia, was a dull hotel - grey paintwork in all the rooms and corridors and as for friendly staff - we never met them in the week we were there. The food was terrible. We paid to go half board, but had to eat out - it was that bad. Very bland with very little choice. This was our first trip to Cyprus and sadly I think the last.
Nice stay at the Paschalia
from MWales
We stayed at the Paschalia on a Thomson's 'allocation on arrival' and were presently surprised. The hotel is spacious and well equipped and generally holds up to its three* plus basis. It is a little grey and dreary in places but all in all is more than adequate for the money. Despite having a fair choice the B&B basis can get a bit 'samey' day in day out. The outside pool area and gardens were particulary nice with enough space should you wish to grab a quiet corner somewhere. There were two lively English girls who ran the entertainments by day and night; great if you've got some kids to offload, but if you want peace a quiet to read a book, being bugged to take part in some holiday tomfoolery might not be your thing, as it certainly wasn't mine. Protaras (prounounced Prot-a-rass) is fine with a fair choice of restaurants and bars. The quality of the food can have that 'resort' taste but there are some pretty good ones (Blue Marlin. Fig Tree Bay (half hour walk along the coast) is a beautiful beach, as is Konnos Bay (much quiter than Fig Tree). We'd recommend hireing a car as the driving's easy and its great to get along to some of the ancient sites and whatnot.
Relaxing time

Just returned from Cyprus - my wife Jacqui and my 3 year old. Tired any really fed up with Larnica Airport!!! - What a pain. Delays and no informarion whatsoever!!!. Never mind. We had a great stay at Passcallia - not too noisey - lots of children through. Reccomend the local eating houses - good quality food. Really reccomend the beach at Peranea around the the corner. So nice to be able to lie in the sea and on the sandy beach all day - not get bothered by anyone trying to sell you anything. Quite surprised by the cost - spend a few pounds this holiday. Fun though. Anyway - the hotel was great - spot the tattoo - might get one now to fit in!. Well worth paying the £18 to have the room for the day if you have a late flight. Drink lots of water and Keo. Have a great Cypriot dance night.

The worst hotel I have stayed at in 30 years, food disgusting, no facilities, not very clean, and bus trip needed into the main centre, the only good thing is the pool and the weather
