Absolutely loved it....
Well we had read the reviews and so our expectations were high and we weren't dissappointed. Cannot fault this accomodation at all particularly the family who run it. Many thanks to George, Barbara, Elias, Maria, baby Barbara and last but certainly not least Rita. They work so hard but at the same time make that extra effort to make you feel special to them. All gave kisses and hugs when time to leave and I had trouble giving up my key. Watch George round the pool he can be a bit of a sod. Can recommend the bar-b-q, kleftico and quiz nights all good fun. We are already looking for a holiday next year. Ruth, Paul, Mike & Brenda.
Superb!
Four of us visited this beautiful island at the beginnig of june this year. When we arrived at the alice springs hotel we were all pretty tired but on arrival we were gob smacked by this place. We met the owner on arrival and his name is George! what a Guy! He made us feel instantly welcomed. As we arrived our room was ready but we decided to have a quick drink as the heat was amazing and didn't really want to unpack straight away. The hotel is a family run business and there is a sence of home from home as everyone including all the other guests were so nice. We didn't experience any problems, no creepy crawlys!! and if there was any thing wrong all we had to do was ask! George is a true gent and his family are lovely people. On one particular day a guy from our party broke his glasses and in an instant George offered to take him into town to get them repaired, he had only met us two days prior to this, so the fact that he even considered it was a blessing! If you want a stress free, relaxing, peaceful holiday this is the place to go. If you want to have a laugh get drunk and generally let your hair down then again this is the place to go as kos town is only 5 mins by taxi or 15 min walk also drink is so reasonably priced you can have a good laugh here! if you want to have a family holiday with the children this place is the place to go!! Trust me this hotel is for everyone whatever you want to do!! A place where i will definatley go back to!!!!!
Best Ever
My Husband and other members of my family have been comming to Kos for over 20 years we are honoury members of citizeans of Kos This Hotel,Owners Barbara & George and all the Staff are great The best hotel we have ever stayed in we will be back next year and we will be telling all our family and friends to book alice springs hotel. Fantastic Hotel
We have just returned from a fantastic 2 weeks stay at Alice Springs hotel. We have visited Kos before and this hotel exceeded our expectations. Clean towels every day, you can even flush the loo paper (due to the plumbing) - a definate plus to anyone whos been to Greece before! There is also entertainment, a BBQ night which is a must - also Kleftiko night - quiz night - basically if you want to join in you can - if not you can relax by the bar - its a very friendly place to socialise. The hotel isnt far from the beach (about 5 min) Its a 20 min walk into Kos Town for the nightlife. If your stuck on where to eat, or places to go the staff are more than happy to assist. We liked it so much we are going back in September! Oh, if you are staying at Alice Springs make sure you try Ritas milkshakes - they are magic!
Great hotel & staff
we stayed at the Alice Springs Hotel in june-room only. It was our 25th wedding anniversary and wanted a nice hotel for a week. Yes we have stayed in posher hotels,But the Alice Springs was excellent. Due to the friendlyness of the owners & staff,& this is what makes your holiday. The Hotel is lovely & clean, towels changed daily & rooms cleaned daily. George & Barbara & their son Elias are wonderful, very helpful & if you have any problems they will help you. I read a repot that the sunbeds were always full or nicked All i can say is we had no trouble, always a sunbed even if we wondered down to the pool late morning.the pool is lovely & clean & was nice & quite. George does a BBQ night on mondays this was great fun. Also if you want a good meal go to his lamb kleftiko night very nice. Everyone was made to feel welcome. The beach is only a short walk , you can hire sunbeds for 6 euros for 2 with a parasol ,if you get there by before 10:30 you can usualy get a sun bed no problem. Kos town is about a 20 / 25 mins walk. Try the sunset retaurant , meals are very good.out of hotel turn left then left at cross roads & its about 5 mins walk on your right hand side. We arrived at the hotel at 5:00 in the morning & Elias was there to welcome us & help with luggage. We stayed in a room in the hotel but had alook at the appartment rooms while we were there, they are great & will try to get one of those on our next visit. We will be going back to the Alice Springs we really recomend this Hotel. We would like to say Thankyou to George Barbara &Elias for the champagne for our anniversary. Also not forgetting the lovely Rita,,Cheers Melv & Lyn
Great welcome, lovely place
We visited Alice Springs as part of a two-week island-hopping holiday and we can't fault it. Neither of us had been to Kos before and, to be honest, it was more of a convenience stop for ferries from Rhodes to Santorini. However, we both absolutely loved it. The welcome from George and his family cannot be faulted and the whole place was spotlessly clean. We spent most of our four days there laying by the pool, which is surrounded by really well-tended gardens, and then wandered into Kos Town - which is only about 15 minutes' walk away - in the evening. If the pool's not your thing, then the beach is only about 2 minutes down the road - although we can't say what it's like as we didn't make it that far! We would definitely recommend Alice Springs to anyone visiting Kos - even if you're just planning to use it as a base (although it's difficult to defy George's hospitality!). If you're island-hopping like us, you can email them direct or through the Thomson website - it's not just a package holiday venue.
Kos - cos we love it
May 12th for 2weeks Deborah & Roger. What more can be said, we are not the type of people to go back to the same place twice, this was our 2nd time at the Alice Springs and our 4th visit to Kos. George, Barbara, Elias and Rita always guaranteed to give you a warm welcome as does the rest of the island. The Alice Springs is very clean and comfortable also handy to get into Kos Town (strolling on the flat 20 mins or catch the bus at the top of the road). Do a delicious Kleftiko (lamb) night. Breakfast & bar snacks are freshly prepared and cooked. Plenty of restautants close by for evening meals. Can't wait to go back later in the year.
loved it
We stopped in Alice springs SC appartment, very tidy and clean. The owners george and his family are brill and so much fun, if you get chance push George in the pool ! The BBQ is a must. The hotel is only 100 m from the Beach, very nice too. Loads of nice restaurants around. Kos town is about 1 mile away, we hired shopping bikes, what a laugh ! Kos town is very pretty too and loads of good bars. We loved our holiday we will be going back next year !
A stay at Alice Springs is The Best ever
Excellent holiday thanks to George, Barbara,Rita, Elias, everyone at Alice Springs who work so hard to ensure everyone has a good time. Can't agree with " Not all it's cracked up to be" arrived in the early hours of the morning, room perfect, very clean, and cleanliness maintained throughout the week. Nothing is too much trouble for George and Barbara. Yes,,the road at the front of the hotel maybe noisy at times ,nothing constant, and no disco music disturbing guests, excellent glazing on windows which kept any noise out.It rained whilst we were there, but still warm , so sat out on our room balcony. We always spent the morning by the pool, and sunbeds never a problem, there is a long row of them on the side of the pool opposite the ground floor rooms, plenty for everyone . BBQ night great fun with excellent greek dancing. George and Barbara create a warm, friendly ,family atmosphere resulting in most guests chatting to each other, sharing places to go and visit and best places to eat. Kos is a lovely island to visit, Alice springs is ideally situated for the beach and town with a choice of tavernas on the way!
Loved the holiday in Kos
I was @ the Alice Springs Hotel in may week commencing 12th May for 2 weeks & would like to reply to comments made by another Trip Advisor reader on 10th June 2007. How can 30 or so reviews on TRIP ADVISOR be so wrong!!!!!!! I would like to say that I booked my holiday from previous reviews on TRIP ADVISOR guests & I have booked another 2 wks in Sept...just like many others have done & are doing. this was my first trip to Kos and Alice Springs Hotel & can't fault the hospitality which i was shown. I will strongly advise other readers to disregard these comments made by this person/s. I have made acquaintances with people who have been returning for the last 15 years or so which i no doubt i will be doing as well. Overall A/Springs Hotel is a home-away-from-home, both George & Barbara are wonderful hosts, their staff are exceptional, their BBQ nites are an experience not to be forgotten-KLEFTIKO dinner on Thur nites by the pool is a must - come & enjoy a wonderful time on Kos & @ Alice Springs Hotel. PS...unjustified crucifixion of Alice Springs Hotel management & staff!!!!!!!
