The alice springs hotel was the best hotel i have stayed at. It is the most homely and friendly hotel ever. George and Barbara and their family are so lovely me and my partner felt like we was at home the whole time we was there. I would recommend this hotel to anyoone who is going to grecce. The barbque was fantastic it's not a normal barbque. If you haven't been to Kos yet i would recommend that you go there as this was a brilliant experience. We will be back soon george.
Love sophie and olando.

Well what can i say, it was the worst holiday i have ever been on!!!!!
Our room was totally unacceptable, The only good thing about it was that it got cleaned every day, the towels had seen better days, pillows smelt sicky, bed broke, balconey unsafe, phone didnt work, i could go on and on and on.
We go on holiday 3-4 times a year and have never ever had to complain about a single thing untill we arrived at the Alice Springs!!
We were in tears the minute we opened the room door, we could not wait for the coach 2 pick us up.
The rep didnt handle the complaints appropriately or effeciently, just brushed things off and got things mixed up.
It made you feel as though every body knew all your business and that you were the ones that moaned.
We noticed that no shower room avaliable for late check outs, so you had to keep room on, funny that, when the majority of flights are late in the day!!!
Money payed for all the extra charges was put straight into pocket (not till), no receipt!!!
The only reason i have given it a rating is because of Kos town, it is beautiful and would deff go to Kos town again, but we would never stay at alice springs even if it was free....

Alice Springs has to be one of the best apartments/hotels I’ve ever stayed at because of the friendliness of the staff.
George is a fab guy he puts himself out for everyone his wife Barbara is a lovely welcoming lady and her son Elias and his wife Maria.
Rita is George’s sister and she couldn’t do enough for you. A lovely clean hotel with plenty to keep you occupied , there are theme nights i.e. BBQ, comedy, Greek dancing, football on the wide screen TV, pool table and quiz nights .
It’s not far from the beach and its 5 minutes to the town centre. I can’t wait to go back.

Just returned from the friendly hotel we have been to yet. George ,Barbara Rita and Elias made a truly welcoming holiday nothing was too much trouble.
We were all made to feel at home. The beach is only a couple of mins away and with George’s advice we went to the alib baba beach bar where the sun beds were 'FREE' the town was a good 20 mins walk but only 5 euro's back in a taxi .
The hotel is very clean and well run ,we stayed room only but didn’t miss the cooking rings, fridge, and telly you get in self catering.
Lindsey the rep for Thomson was excellent she would always leave details of when she was around . A polite and pleasant girl .
The bbq is a must a fantastic time is to be had by all on a Monday night giving you a chance to meet the other guests with Greek dancers and party games all in all a top quality holiday.
As you will note all positive, no negatives.

If you want to stay somewhere clean, comfortable, close to all amenities, friendly and fun then don't think of anywhere other than The Alice Springs Hotel Kos. We had so much fun here this July and are already looking for a holiday next year. I actually had to have my key forcefully taken from me and although we all look forward to going home, I have never felt so regretful at the end of a holiday. The planned evenings are great fun so thank you to George, Barbara, Elias, Maria, Baby Barbara and last but certainly not least Rita. Where else do you go where everyone makes sure they have said goodbye personally - fantastic place Ruth, Paul, Brenda & Mike..

Rita and Elias are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. The hotel is situated only a 15-minute walk from Kos town and the area is very pleasant. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops close to the hotel and on the walk into Kos town - we particularly liked Mama Rosa's Italian restaurant.
The hotel does have lots of hidden charges though, such as 28 Euros a week for fridge hire and 15 Euros for a safety deposit box for one week, or 20 Euros for a fortnight, and only 5 euros back on safe return of the key. Air conditioning is also extra.
The pool bar stays open while late but only serves food until 8pm (apart from the day you arrive) and was quite expensive compared to other restaurants in the area.
We also found some staff charged more for items such as chocolate and drinks than other staff. There were at least two dishes on the menu that were not available at all during our holiday, but were not taken of the menu.
The pool at Alice Springs is very nice as is the area around it, and is quite peaceful (during term time!) There is also a bookshelf where you can borrow books to read.
The room was basic but fair, although the bathroom could have done with being a little bigger, as we weren't keen on showering so close to the toilet (the shower is just a shower on the wall with a plug hole in the tiled floor under the shower, and our toilet was right next to it).
The mattresses smelt a bit feisty, perhaps as a result of the rooms being closed from October until late April or early May. The sheets and pillowcases also weren't changed as often as we'd have liked, we went 5 or 6 nights without them being changed on one occasion. The towels were changed daily however the folded towels often smelt used and had grubby looking marks on them. The fridge was large, about 4ft high, so more than adequate, however it was a bit dirty round the seal and on the top of the door, the shelves looked in need of a clean too.
The reception area was not always manned. Quite often we had to ask at the pool bar to get to the safety deposit box, but were often told they were too busy and we would have to ask later. This was even during times when the safety deposit boxes were supposed to be accessible.
However the traveller's cheques exchange was very reasonable at only 1 Euro per Euro Travellers cheque exchanged.
The resort was lovely, the area was great, but we felt the accommodation was not reflective of the cost of the Holiday.

My boyfriend and I stayed there the first week in June and had a fantastic time.
If you ever leave the hotel you'll find a nearby beach, restaurants, shops, and bike hire. For nightlife just a 5 minute taxi ride and you're by the harbour enjoying clubs, bars, and even nicer places to eat.
Alice Springs is a friendly, welcoming, and enjoyable place to stay. George, Barbara, Rita and not forgetting Ilyanos (hope I spelt it right!) made our stay comfortable and lots of fun!
I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely go back there again. If you book do not forget to attend the famous BBQ - It really will leave you smiling for days!
Would suit people of all ages, we were in our 20's and made friends with people aged 2yrs - 70!

Excellent accommodation with very friendly owners, George, Barbara and family plus staff. Rita has a very good sense of humour. The BBQ is not to be missed as it is great fun. Kleftiko night is great value for money for top class lamb.
Rooms are cleaned every day and also clean towels supplied. Overall it is well worth considering staying at the Alice Springs Hotel in Kos.
You are treated as part of the family and not just another number. Will definitely be back.
What a great 2 weeks holiday!

George, Barbara, Elias & Rita really make you feel welcome. The hotel is clean and has a good sun terrace, pool and pool bar.
George and the team really put themselves out for you - nothing is too much trouble.
George will arrange car hire etc for you and have it dropped round to the hotel.
The hotel is 15 mins walk from Kos Town, although there is a bike hire place directly across the road. The pool is nice and a real sun trap.
Don't miss the Aussie BBQ on Monday - although may be not one for the younger kids.

We had 10 days at Alice Springs in August, with our 2 daughters, aged 4 and 8, and after reading some of the reviews on here, were a bit aprehensive about what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised!
Very friendly, George and the extended family are so friendly and helpful, whatever you want advice on George knows!
Everything was very clean, and modern, our apartemnt was cleaned every day with new sheets and towels.
The pool and garden areas were great, our daughters lived in the pool, a nice touch is that there are various inflatables/li-lo's etc in there for them to play with. Also George walked round giving everyone slices of WaterMelon on some days, again a nice touch.
We did the BBQ night twice, as it was so good, and popular, we didn't do the Kofti lamb night, but it was very busy, so I can only guess it was as good. Highly recommended.
The location is fine, far enough from the beach/shops to be quiet, but very close, less than 5 minutes to the pleasant Lambi beach (turn right out of hotel).
There is a smaller (slightly more expensive) supermarket on the way to the beach, but a better one, if you turn left out of the hotel, and a few minutes up, it is on the crossroads. There is not so much meat in these supermarkets, but if you turn left at the crossroads (heading towards Kos Town), about ten minutes down the road is another big supermarket, and Butchers next door.
We also hired bikes from the man over the road, and another place, just round the corner (left at crossroads), very cheap, at less than a tenner a day for 3 bikes, with locks and a child seat. It was very nice riding along the cycle ways to Kos Town, and another pleasant beach (turn right at cross roads), about ten minutes ride, and you can use the beah of the next resort...this beach is slightlymore sandy and better waves (not too big though).
We went on the Paradise beach tour, really good, lovely sandy beach...very hot, but umbrellas and beds available by the hundreed! The cafe on the beach there (up steps) is really good, unexpensive, and organised. (booked through Thomson, as they supply the coach which gets you right to the beach.
The highlight of our week, was the 3 island cruise. A great end to the holiday, my girls loved jumping off the boat into crystal clear seas, surrounded by fish, snorkelling etc, aswell as the 'sponge' island, and another great beached island. We booked our tour independently, as Kos Town harbour (all the boats lined up in the evening, touting for trade)...we used the boat Santa Mariaa, which was recomended to us, as it is the one the tour groups use, meaning better standards, insurance etc. It is MUCH cheaper to book this trip yourself, rather than through the tour operator, they wanted 49 euros each, wheras we booked the whole trip for 4 of us for less than 100 Euros. this includes a great BBQ lunch on the boat. The only difference is you have to make your own way to & from the harbour (a twenty minute walk from Alice Springs) rather than the coach supplied by the Tours.
Santaa Maria, has a great member of crew, who calls himself (and looks like!) Super Mario, cap and moustache....he kept my girls highly amused, especially with his greek dancing.
Lots of good restaurants on the harbour too, some of them do good deals on kids meals too.
Overall a brilliant holiday, thoroughly enjoyed...and looking at how many people were on return visits to Alice Springs, that speaks loads in my eyes.
You won't go far wrong with Alice Spring, and George and family! My only grudge, paying 7 Euros a night for aircon in the apartment, but having it made a big difference, and was worth it!
