Alice Springs has to be one of the best apartments/hotels I’ve ever stayed at because of the friendliness of the staff.
George is a fab guy he puts himself out for everyone his wife Barbara is a lovely welcoming lady and her son Elias and his wife Maria.
Rita is George’s sister and she couldn’t do enough for you. A lovely clean hotel with plenty to keep you occupied , there are theme nights i.e. BBQ, comedy, Greek dancing, football on the wide screen TV, pool table and quiz nights .
It’s not far from the beach and its 5 minutes to the town centre. I can’t wait to go back.

Well what can i say, it was the worst holiday i have ever been on!!!!!
Our room was totally unacceptable, The only good thing about it was that it got cleaned every day, the towels had seen better days, pillows smelt sicky, bed broke, balconey unsafe, phone didnt work, i could go on and on and on.
We go on holiday 3-4 times a year and have never ever had to complain about a single thing untill we arrived at the Alice Springs!!
We were in tears the minute we opened the room door, we could not wait for the coach 2 pick us up.
The rep didnt handle the complaints appropriately or effeciently, just brushed things off and got things mixed up.
It made you feel as though every body knew all your business and that you were the ones that moaned.
We noticed that no shower room avaliable for late check outs, so you had to keep room on, funny that, when the majority of flights are late in the day!!!
Money payed for all the extra charges was put straight into pocket (not till), no receipt!!!
The only reason i have given it a rating is because of Kos town, it is beautiful and would deff go to Kos town again, but we would never stay at alice springs even if it was free....

Just returned from the friendly hotel we have been to yet. George ,Barbara Rita and Elias made a truly welcoming holiday nothing was too much trouble.
We were all made to feel at home. The beach is only a couple of mins away and with George’s advice we went to the alib baba beach bar where the sun beds were 'FREE' the town was a good 20 mins walk but only 5 euro's back in a taxi .
The hotel is very clean and well run ,we stayed room only but didn’t miss the cooking rings, fridge, and telly you get in self catering.
Lindsey the rep for Thomson was excellent she would always leave details of when she was around . A polite and pleasant girl .
The bbq is a must a fantastic time is to be had by all on a Monday night giving you a chance to meet the other guests with Greek dancers and party games all in all a top quality holiday.
As you will note all positive, no negatives.

If you want to stay somewhere clean, comfortable, close to all amenities, friendly and fun then don't think of anywhere other than The Alice Springs Hotel Kos. We had so much fun here this July and are already looking for a holiday next year. I actually had to have my key forcefully taken from me and although we all look forward to going home, I have never felt so regretful at the end of a holiday. The planned evenings are great fun so thank you to George, Barbara, Elias, Maria, Baby Barbara and last but certainly not least Rita. Where else do you go where everyone makes sure they have said goodbye personally - fantastic place Ruth, Paul, Brenda & Mike..

My boyfriend and I stayed there the first week in June and had a fantastic time.
If you ever leave the hotel you'll find a nearby beach, restaurants, shops, and bike hire. For nightlife just a 5 minute taxi ride and you're by the harbour enjoying clubs, bars, and even nicer places to eat.
Alice Springs is a friendly, welcoming, and enjoyable place to stay. George, Barbara, Rita and not forgetting Ilyanos (hope I spelt it right!) made our stay comfortable and lots of fun!
I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely go back there again. If you book do not forget to attend the famous BBQ - It really will leave you smiling for days!
Would suit people of all ages, we were in our 20's and made friends with people aged 2yrs - 70!

Excellent accommodation with very friendly owners, George, Barbara and family plus staff. Rita has a very good sense of humour. The BBQ is not to be missed as it is great fun. Kleftiko night is great value for money for top class lamb.
Rooms are cleaned every day and also clean towels supplied. Overall it is well worth considering staying at the Alice Springs Hotel in Kos.
You are treated as part of the family and not just another number. Will definitely be back.
What a great 2 weeks holiday!

Rita and Elias are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. The hotel is situated only a 15-minute walk from Kos town and the area is very pleasant. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops close to the hotel and on the walk into Kos town - we particularly liked Mama Rosa's Italian restaurant.
The hotel does have lots of hidden charges though, such as 28 Euros a week for fridge hire and 15 Euros for a safety deposit box for one week, or 20 Euros for a fortnight, and only 5 euros back on safe return of the key. Air conditioning is also extra.
The pool bar stays open while late but only serves food until 8pm (apart from the day you arrive) and was quite expensive compared to other restaurants in the area.
We also found some staff charged more for items such as chocolate and drinks than other staff. There were at least two dishes on the menu that were not available at all during our holiday, but were not taken of the menu.
The pool at Alice Springs is very nice as is the area around it, and is quite peaceful (during term time!) There is also a bookshelf where you can borrow books to read.
The room was basic but fair, although the bathroom could have done with being a little bigger, as we weren't keen on showering so close to the toilet (the shower is just a shower on the wall with a plug hole in the tiled floor under the shower, and our toilet was right next to it).
The mattresses smelt a bit feisty, perhaps as a result of the rooms being closed from October until late April or early May. The sheets and pillowcases also weren't changed as often as we'd have liked, we went 5 or 6 nights without them being changed on one occasion. The towels were changed daily however the folded towels often smelt used and had grubby looking marks on them. The fridge was large, about 4ft high, so more than adequate, however it was a bit dirty round the seal and on the top of the door, the shelves looked in need of a clean too.
The reception area was not always manned. Quite often we had to ask at the pool bar to get to the safety deposit box, but were often told they were too busy and we would have to ask later. This was even during times when the safety deposit boxes were supposed to be accessible.
However the traveller's cheques exchange was very reasonable at only 1 Euro per Euro Travellers cheque exchanged.
The resort was lovely, the area was great, but we felt the accommodation was not reflective of the cost of the Holiday.

George, Barbara, Elias & Rita really make you feel welcome. The hotel is clean and has a good sun terrace, pool and pool bar.
George and the team really put themselves out for you - nothing is too much trouble.
George will arrange car hire etc for you and have it dropped round to the hotel.
The hotel is 15 mins walk from Kos Town, although there is a bike hire place directly across the road. The pool is nice and a real sun trap.
Don't miss the Aussie BBQ on Monday - although may be not one for the younger kids.

Duncan and Paula had a truly fantastic time George Barbara and son Elias are perfect hosts. The place is lovely nothing is too much bother. if you only have one holiday a year spend it here, but be warned once you visit you will definitely return, thank you so much and good luck with the baby, love you all, Duncan & Paula.
Paula & Duncan thought that Alice Springs Hotel was lovely, it was a very welcoming place. George, family & the staff were amazing always friendly and willing to help. The place it self was kept in pristine condition, very clean, loved the fact that there was clean towels every day and the personal touch of fresh flowers left on display in the hall ways.
Anything you want you can have but your told, just pay Barbara the next day is that easy and laid back. Thank you see you in the new year Paula & Duncan.

Just come back from a week staying at Alice Springs Hotel in Kos. I can’t recommend this hotel enough it was FANTASTIC. Where do I start – the welcome when we got there was wonderful George the owner stays up to welcome each of his guests personally no matter what time of the night they arrive (even though he is always up and around the hotel at 6am every day!).
He makes sure he learns everyone’s name and introduces you to other the guests so that you feel at home the moment you arrive. He was telling us jokes within about 10 minutes of our arrival (loved the one about the retiring postman George).
Barbara, George’s wife, is lovely, she too makes everyone feel very welcome and the food she serves at the snack bar is really good, nothing is too much trouble. Elias their son works behind the pool side bar and is also very, very helpful (and funny).
The bbq and Kleftikol nights are not to be missed and help to bring everyone together even more with fun and games and dancing for all. The hotel is very near to Lambi beach (which is a bit crowded with sun beds, but who needs the beach when you have the gorgeous pool at Alice Springs) and within walking distance of beautiful Kos town.
The rooms are spotlessly clean with clean towels every day, the sun beds by the pool had mattresses on, not something you get everywhere. I asked if I could have a fridge in my room and one was put there straight away.
When it’s time to go home George is around to say goodbye to everyone what ever time they leave (do you ever sleep George?).
We will definitely be going back next year (if you’ll have us George & Barbara).

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday at the Alice Springs Hotel, thanks to George, Barbara and Elias.
Location, facilities and atmosphere were spot on, wouldn’t have changed anything.
We stayed in room only but had everything you needed, you can hire fridges and air con and they are cleaned everyday with fresh towels provided.
Great pool bar, stays open late - very late Elias! Fun BBQ on a Monday night, and the Lamb night is a must.
George and Barbara are around all day ensuring your holiday is enjoyable and will sort out anything you need i.e. car hire etc.
Thanks for a great Holiday. Sarah & Carl.

In July 2006 my partner and I had a wonderful holiday in the Alice Springs hotel, Kos. We are both doctors and found our time in Alice Springs to be a welcome break from work. Whilst we were there we met a family of psychologists from South Africa who were attending an international conference in their speciality field. The Alice Springs hotel is ideally located for both the relaxing holiday and for travel to … where the conference was held.
George and Barbara, the couple who own the hotel, are amazing hosts. They make everyone feel welcome and are always offering help and advice in order to make your holiday the best it can be. The bbq and kleftiko nights are particularly special and should not be missed.
A holiday at the Alice Springs hotel has everything you could wish for; a beautiful swimming pool, a lovely beach within 5 mins, Kos town just a short walk away, the hotel is immaculately presented and the hosts are incredible.

We have just come back from the Alice Springs and it was fantastic. The hotel is spotless - and genuine people. The boss is called Barbara, she is a lovely lady and will help you with anything you need - the guy who thinks he is the boss is called George, (only kidding George) the bbq is a must on Monday night but book as early as you can.
The kleftiko night is beautiful (again book early Wednesday nights). The pool (and boy am I fussy) was immaculate. George was always cleaning it/checking it and the pool area is clean- there’s a little pool for the children. We went on a room only basis but with Barbara’s Greek salads and fruit salads and breakfasts (and good coffee!) That was all we really needed in the day time.
Eating out we recommend the stadium at the marina and select in the old town. (George will give you directions if you need them) the old town is beautiful and fascinating. The harbour is breathtaking and if you want to do the 3 island tour ask for Harry the Australian at the Marianna.
What ever sort of holiday you want we found it perfect chilling by the pool - drinking cocktails by the beach (80 meters) the bbq, the kleftiko, ahh (happy memories). Exploring the old town.
If you want to see a beautiful sunset head to zia we ate on the roof top garden of avli good food nice people. If you love honey the Greek honey from zia is sweet and the rag dolls make lovely pressies shops close as the last tourist leaves for the evening there are no hotels here so its really quaint.
And the Alice springs best kept secret (you don’t have to put your loo paper in a bin) you can flush it down the loo.
Happy holidays John and Karen.

Looking for an inexpensive end of season break we could not have chosen better. George and family made us so welcome and though this was our first visit they made us feel like old friends.
Although end of season the bar was fully stocked, and breakfast and snacks available at all times, and the entertainment programme was still running.
Good location for all amenities within walking distance. Enjoyed so much we will return in 2006.

Just returned, loved it so much I feel really sad now. George and family are wonderful, sooooo nice and friendly.
Met lots of wonderful new friends. Hotel great, rooms superb, pool/bar area spot on and nice and cool during the hottest hours. Great location for the beach and bars in Kos.
George organises a couple of entertainment nights a week which are a must and help create such a special atmosphere. A perfect hotel for families, couple and friends. Guy xx
