Great Holiday from Mrs_TDerbyshire
We have just returned from alexandra beach and had a great time. The hotel was very clean and all the staff where fantastic. We read many reviews before we left and where most concerned anout the dining facilities. We didn't find this a problem, we where always seated immediately and staff where well organised to clear tables and seat you appropriatley. There is a special "kids restaurant" in the evening too. We arrived to find that the hotel had a broken air conditioning unit, crawling ants every where and dirty floors. we had to pay for the three days in advance, no invoice and of course I am still awaiting for the refund. And absolutely nothing. I am still bitter about the whole experience and having lost AU$700. Avoid the nightmare. Susana
Good Hotel, some flaws from B52s
This hotel is very well situated on the edge of Potos, set well back from the road but close enough for a pleasant stroll to the bars and restaurants in the town. Our overall impression of the hotel was good - clean and comfortable room, excellent spa facillities, friendly staff, beautiful pool and terrace area and superb views across to Mount Athos. Fantastic family holiday from Andymil
We had a family holiday at the Alexander beach during the May bank holiday. We went as a family of three with our daughter of 7, also with my wifes sister and family who have 2 children of 7 and 10. We had a fantastic time the hotel was excellent, the rooms are clean, tidy and of a good size, we liked the fact that the childrens beds were proper beds and not sofa beds. Perfect from lovegreekfood
We chose Alexandra Beach because in the whole Greece brochure, this was the only hotel that had everything we wanted (family of 4, 2 girls aged 11 & 13) - location near a village rather than right in a town, near the beach, pool looked nice, rooms looked nice and had aircon included, and the spa facilities were a bonus but we didn't know if we would use it. The journey was a little longer than we anticipated, but the ferry crossing fun. I would recommend tucking kid's swimsuits into your handbag because we arrived a couple of hours... more
Fantastic Hotel from gudders
This was our first time to Thassos and we werent disappointed. The hotel was fantastic and we could not fault it. the room was spotless and the food although buffet style, was excellent, so much choice and very tasty. We especially liked eating our lunches at the Taverna belonging to the hotel, overlooking the sea. Potos is lovely and we spent most of our evenings at Boomerang bar with Abe and Joe, they were great lads and worked really hard to please to please you. Just returned from the Alexandra Beach Hotel. We were slightly disappointed with the Hotel, certainly, in our opinion it wasn't a 4*. As previously mentioned there is a lot of room for improvement, mainly the Restaurant, there just isn't enough room for the amount of people (the Hotel was full). Having said that, the food was really good, all hot and fresh and plenty to choose from. I went with a friend from work for a relaxing holiday because we work very hard and do a lot of travelling. We didn't want to do much apart from sit by the pool, enjoy the sun and fully relax. The hotel was perfect for this. The pool area is beautiful with lovely views over to Mount Athos. The pool bar played great relaxing and trendy music and made great cocktails. The good: spacious and clean rooms, great choice of quality food, friendly staff, close to Potos town. The not so good: a large sprawling complex, restaurant too small (often had to wait a while for table to be re-set, and waiter drinks service to arrive), pool area too small for number of guests, expensive (to the point of occasionally feeling ‘gouged’), a bit on the noisy side from time to time. Wonderful holiday, great hotel from gulls
We have just returned from the Alexandra Beach Hotel and had a wonderful time. Firstly Thassos Island (the emerald island) is a fantasic place, not as built up as other islands. If you're looking for peace and quiet then this is the place. The Hotel - more of a resort with lovely well kept gardens and staff working around the clock to keep it prestine.
