Spacious room within a pleasant holiday complex. We paid quite a small amount extra to get a 2-roomed apartment.
This turned out to be basically two 1-roomed apartments side by side with 2 balconies. It was clean, there was lots of room and a sea view.
People booking through agents perhaps got a cheaper deal, but in the less well located rooms.
Situated on a peninsula with rocky beaches all around. It was easy to minimise wind by going to whichever beach was most sheltered that day. Lots of nice places to swim, snorkel and sunbathe.
Also maybe 10 nice eating places, some inside and some outside the complex. All excellent value. Very good local supermarket and range of shops on site.
A very international mixture of guests, entertainment staff did a good job in creating international entertainment for adults and children.
Would highly recommend the excellent aquarium located in an ancient dungeons building, 5 minutes walk away and the city of Pula 10 minutes by car or bus.

We stayed at Punta Verudela apartments for 7 days in September this year (06). The accommodation is definitely not 3 star - in fact it has a plaque in the wall detailing 2 stars so some sites need to change their description!
The apartment we booked was a recently refurbished studio sleeping 2-3 people. When we were allocated ours, we found it to be very shabby with ants in the kitchen.
We went straight to our Rep who advised us to upgrade for a further cost to a one bedroom apartment. I asked that we be given what we had booked and paid for already - something recently refurbished. Luckily for us the reception staff were great and gave us another choice which was still basic but smelled nice and clean and was ant-free!
The balcony wall was so high, I couldn't see more than roof tops and sky but it was fine overall.
The resort itself is beautiful with gorgeous clear green sea and rock pools galore. The pool was clean and lovely for a swim - not crowded at all.
Bus services are regular although make sure you ask about fares before you get on as the drivers are invariably surly and don't like silly Brits who can't speak the lingo.
Everyone else we came into contact with were friendly, pleasant and helpful.
Would definitely visit Croatia again. Brilliant value for money, beautiful views, great history and friendly locals.

The apartments were basic but adequate, if a bit of a squeeze for a family of 5. The apartment complex had plenty of activities surrounding it, so there was usually something for our teenage sons to do.
The food was good with a choice of affordable restaurants during the day and in the evening. The beaches were rocky, so beach shoes are essential, but they are also beautiful and the sea is very clear, which allowed us to spend a lot of time in the water snorkelling.
The only down side was the lack of any real entertainment in the evening, unless you wanted to visit the casino, or let the kids loose in the games arcade. Be careful about booking the boat trips too. We booked the one to Rovinj, but spent nearly five hours on a crowded boat, and were provided with a poor meal.
Rovinj was nice place to visit , as was Pula, which is a lovely unspoilt city, and the amphitheatre is worth seeing. On the whole we had good holiday, and would recommend Croatia to anybody as a very pleasant holiday destination.
